Do you qualify for credit card bailout?

How can the everyday consumer get bailed out of credit card debt they just can't afford to pay? More families are stressing out over credit cards and other debts and want to know their debt relief options.

A LESSON FROM THE UNIVERSE

TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE

by Patricia Diane Cota-Robles November 2009 http://eraofpeace.org

You have the ability to make a positive difference in the world. This has been a roller-coaster time of miracles and challenges. It seems as though these extreme experiences are being used to wake Humanity up at warp speed. No matter how hard people may try, their I AM Presence is not allowing them to push the snooze button in order to go back to sleep. It is time for people everywhere to remember who they are and why they are on Earth during this auspicious moment. Important changes are taking place, and in spite of outer-world appearances, we are beginning to see evidence of people in every walk of life reaching out to make a positive difference.

2009 is numerically an 11-year. Eleven is the Master Number that reflects the transformation of the physical into the Divine. The many activities of Light that have taken place this year have provided us with amazing opportunities to move into the highest level of consciousness we have experienced since our fall from Grace aeons ago. November is the eleventh month in 2009, so we are blessed with the powerful 11:11 numerical frequency throughout this entire month. On November 11 and 29, 2009, we are blessed with 11:11:11 numerical frequency, which will be an incredibly powerful time for all of us.

Whether we consciously remember it or not, each and every one of us has been preparing for a very long time to assist during this unprecedented time. We all have unique skills and abilities that no one else on the planet possesses in exactly the same way we do. We have volunteered to assist in helping to change the old, obsolete behavior patterns that are responsible for the pain and suffering Humanity is enduring. This is being brought to our attention by our I AM Presence, our God Self, because the time for us to begin fulfilling our Divine Missions is NOW!

The only reason we have not been co-creating lives of joy, happiness, prosperity, loving relationships, financially and creatively rewarding jobs, vibrant health, fulfillment, enlightenment and every other positive experience is because we have forgotten that we can. Not only can we create the lives we dream of, this is our purpose and reason for being. We are Children of God, and we have been invested with the gift of free will. Our thoughts and feelings are creative. Whatever we focus our thoughts, words, actions, and feelings on, we bring into physical form. It is time for us to remember this Divine Truth and for us to consciously choose to create the lives we want instead of inadvertently manifesting, through our fears, the experiences we do not want.

It is time for us to reclaim our Divine Birthrights and to fulfill our Divine Potentials. As we take charge of our lives, we will be effective examples for our loved ones and friends. We will be positive catalysts, and the results of our efforts will be exponential. We are all One, and the Universal Law is “As I Am lifted up, ALL Life is lifted up with me.” We can each make a positive difference. As we change our lives, we will change the direction for Humanity and for all Life evolving on this planet. Never underestimate your ability to be a powerful force of good on this planet.

You have been preparing for a very long time to fulfill the mission you agreed to accomplish in this lifetime. Not only do you have the skill, talent, wisdom, courage and strength to accomplish your mission, our Father-Mother God and the entire Company of Heaven are standing in readiness eagerly awaiting the opportunity to assist you. These selfless Beings of Light are with you now. From inner levels they guide and protect you, and they intervene to help you every time you ask them to. You are never alone. If you ever feel doubtful that you have the power to make a positive difference in this world, just remember the entire Company of Heaven is there to help you every time you ask for their assistance.

When you begin to create a plan to make a positive difference in your life, the first step is to take a good look at your life as it exists right now. In order to change your life, you must first be aware of what presently exists. So take some time to evaluate your life as an objective observer. This is not a time to berate, criticize, or condemn yourself for past mistakes. That only adds more negative energy to the situation. The purpose of this evaluation is to help you see what it is you like about your life, and what it is you would like to change. Usually people know their lives are not what they want them to be, and they may be aware of some major problems, such as finances or health, but they have never actually taken the time to evaluate their overall lives. This is a crucial step toward making a positive difference, so invest the time to take a thorough inventory of your life.

In order for you to succeed in transforming your life, you need to plan where you are going. You need to have objectives and goals. Most people spend so much time worrying and dwelling on the things that they do not want in their lives that they have not taken the time to figure out what they really do want. Remember, what you think about, what you hold in your mind and put your attention and energy into, you draw into your life. So it is time to stop worrying about the things that you do not want and start focusing on the things that you do want. Patterns of thinking and emotional responses are usually habits you have allowed yourself to develop without much conscious awareness. Now that you have decided to take charge of your life, you no longer need to just muddle through the day. Instead, you can deliberately control your thoughts, words, actions, and feelings. Since it is a natural law that what you put your attention and energy into, you draw into your life. It is only logical that you take the steps necessary to let go of destructive programming and begin creating for yourself a fulfilling, happy, harmonious, abundant, and peaceful life.

Most people rarely feel that they are negative; so one of the things I have them do is keep a scratch tally for an entire week of every negative thought or feeling they experience. Notice I said EVERY negative thought or feeling. This includes the little, trivial, petty things that you allow to pop into your mind, such as the person that pulls in front of your car that you think is a jerk, or the service you received that you feel was lousy, or the lady at the supermarket that you think is a slob, or the disgust you have for yourself for overeating, or the anger you feel if the car breaks down, and on and on. My experience has been that by the end of the week even so-called positive people have several sheets of tally marks and are astounded at how often they were negative and shocked at how oblivious they were about their negative thinking. So, the next step toward your decision to make a positive difference in the world is to observe your daily responses for an entire week. Pay very close attention to your thoughts and feelings and keep a simple scratch tally of every negative thought or feeling you have. Do not empower the negative thought by writing it down, just keep a scratch tally of it.

This is a very valuable exercise because it clearly shows how many times every single day you are misqualifying energy without even realizing it. Many people are wallowing in the poor me syndrome. They feel that they are really good people, but all of these terrible things keep happening to them anyway. What this exercise reveals is that we may not be doing catastrophically negative things like mugging people or robbing a bank, but we are often nickel-and-dimeing ourselves to death with trivial pettiness.

Once you complete this exercise and acknowledge that you may not be controlling your thoughts or feelings, but just allowing them to happen, you can move on to the next step of changing those bad habits and begin to take control of your thoughts, words, and deeds. Each time you put forth the effort to deliberately program yourself into constructive thinking, the stronger you will become and the more natural the positive response will be. Before you know it, your pattern of thinking will automatically be positive instead of negative, and you will have established a new constructive habit.

While you are going through this process of gaining control of your thoughts and feelings, you need to be tolerant and forgiving of yourself. If you find negative thinking or negative feelings creeping into your consciousness, you need to stop, empty your mind of the negative thought or feeling, take a deep breath, regroup, and then look for the positive side of the situation you are dealing with. Don't give any more power to the negative thought by berating or condemning yourself for the transgression. Just let it go, flood it with the Violet Flame of Forgiveness, and focus on the positive side of the situation, no matter how small.

Begin your new habit of positive thinking by looking for the positive side of every person, place, condition, or thing you encounter. The general rule is that we can easily spot the flaws in other people, but unless someone is a genius or looks like a Greek God or Goddess, we rarely notice their positive attributes. In this exercise you must go out of your way to search for something good in every single person, place, condition, and thing you come in contact with. Sometimes this is a real challenge. Some people you know may seem so objectionable that the only thing you will be able to appreciate about them is the color of their socks, but you must find something good in every instance. After practicing this for a while, you will come to the realization that, no matter how bad things seem or how degenerate a person may appear, there is a spark of hope in every situation and a spark of Light in every person. By consciously putting your attention on that one redeeming quality, rather than giving momentum and power to the negative, you can turn that destructive situation into a positive experience, and you can often give the negative person the incentive he or she needs to find a better way of behaving. This may sound too good to be true, but I assure you that this is the natural Law of Attraction, and it is as accurate and as workable as the Laws of Mathematics, Music, Physics, or any other science.

The next exercise I want to share with you is designed to help you reprogram your thinking with positive affirmations. People who have used positive affirmations have always known that they work, but they have rarely understood exactly why. Now, with more and more research, we are learning how the process works. Through positive affirmations, we can deliberately send forth constructive thought forms that will accumulate additional positive energy and return to us, bringing with them what we are affirming. The difference between a prayer and an affirmation is that in prayer we are usually humbly asking for something, and in an affirmation we are actually invoking God and our I AM Presence to command Universal Light substance to flow through us constructively to create whatever perfection it is that we are affirming.

There is another very important reason why affirmations work. When we make a positive affirmation, we begin with the words I AM. These two words invoke our I AM Presence and connect us directly to our omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Father-Mother God, All That Is. This all encompassing Presence of God is the Universal Source of All Life. Everything in the Universe is comprised of electronic Light substance vibrating at different frequencies with various densities. The words I AM reflect the all-encompassing Oneness of all Life. “I” represents Alpha, the beginning, “AM” represents Omega or the ending, meaning our Father-Mother God, the Universal Source of All Life, is the beginning and the ending of all that exists.

When we invoke the Light of God by using the words I AM the Light automatically responds. It flows through our thoughts, words, actions, and feelings and obeys our affirmations. Affirmations are designed to help us begin reprogramming our negative thinking into positive thinking. The longer energy is accustomed to flowing through the brain in a particular pattern, the easier it is to just keep flowing in the same pattern. For instance, if we are used to being critical or judgmental of others, that is a pattern we have developed and the energy flows very easily into that groove of the brain. If we want to change that habit, we have to consciously begin developing a new groove through which this energy can flow. The more we withhold the energy from the negative, critical pattern and send it forth through the new constructive pattern, the sooner we will have changed the bad habit.

When we first begin observing our behavioral responses, we are usually shocked and a little overwhelmed at how ingrained our trivial, petty patterns are, and it seems as though it will be a monumental task to overcome them. However, once you begin to consciously take control of your thoughts, words, actions, and feelings, the changes will take place much more quickly than you can envision at this time. Once you really develop the habit of positive thinking, the critical, petty, trivial things that so easily pop into your mind now will not be part of your consciousness. With positive affirmations, we form new constructive grooves in our thinking patterns. For this reason it is important to read your affirmations the first thing in the morning and the last thing before going to bed at night. The exercise in the morning will begin the constructive flow of energy through the brain and set your attitude for the new day.

The exercise at night will help by drawing the positive affirmations into your subconscious mind; so, you can reprogram yourself while you sleep, as in sleep learning. Research is proving that what we think about at night before we go to sleep is carried into the subconscious mind, so it is a good idea to put your attention on something constructive. For heaven’s sake, don't watch the news just before going to sleep.

what if Christians, Jews & Muslims understood & internalized this:

As the Elders say;

"The honor of the people lies in the mocassin tracks of the woman. Walk the good road....Be dutiful, respectful, gentle and modest my daughter...Be strong with the warm strong heart of the earth. No people goes down until their women are weak and dishonored, or dead upon the ground. Be strong and sing the strength of the Great Powers within you, all around you. -Village Wise Man, SIOUX

Encouragement

Revelations 3:8

"When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen: either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!  'The power of one sentence! God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor.

God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close. If you need God to open some doors for you have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing." from a friend of mine, Amani.

Concentrate on this Sentence

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

SACRED BEINGS

a french city street

“If you are a sacred being it does not matter where you live or what you do. All that matters is how you live, because sacredness is part of balance. If you live in a big city and maintain your balance and the purity of your spirit, you can live anywhere. It is not very difficult to live in a protected monastery as a monk and remain spiritually balanced. It is very difficult to have one foot in the physical manifestation of a chaotic city and to keep the other foot firmly implanted in the land of healthy spirit. It is the people of the cities who lose their souls first, and yet they are the one’s who make decisions for the rest of society. They are the one’s whose faces you see on TV every night. They are the one’s people tend to believe, even if they lost their souls long ago. So it is the cities that you need to work.”

Beauty, Power, and African spirituality

The wonder of beauty lies in its elusive qualities; the way it plays with time tricking one, then many, into believing it exist in infinity. The fact and craziness of beauty lies within its fundamental goal to teach, enchant, and lure us into a state of repose twitching with anticipation. Beauty creates cults, and defines itself by our possessive need to hold it. Beauty is not religion but Beauty is what we believe; what moves us, and frightens us into stories of the formulas to retain it.

But it like TAO and ALEPH cannot be contained. Like OBATALA it is a stream of consciousness changing form and tricking us into believing that old age loses Beauty. But beauty follows us as we change forms from youth to old age. Beauty is the magic, the spark, the breath of Life. Beauty comes from and returns to the Heart of Hearts beautifully like a song sung, or a poem composed. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

a MANHOOD TEACHING #4

A woman's breasts are powerful beyond the casual and the longing to touch or suck them. The depth of them is nurturing. Seeing the world, and placing us in time is the deeper role of the breasts for all babies. It means one thing to a man and another to a woman. As a man defining the depth of Manhood the breast is the altar between worlds. She opens gateways, and becomes a medicine, (if I may speak like a Native-American man), and ushers and corrals emotions and energies in a way different from the powers of punany.

To explore sensual depths the mystery of the Sacred Feminine and the Sacred Masculine is a life-task and the Sacred place men begin their journey. The gathering together of our contradictions has always started with Mother's breasts in our mouths. From that vantage point her breasts fed us, and attached us to her, and later became memoirs of our early sensitive touching of the world around us. At the primal level we started to become men or predators. ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

GEOMETRY & ANGUISH

photo of Greyhound bus station, circa. 2000 - 1005 1st St NE Washington DC

"The two elements the traveler first captures in the big city are extra human architecture and furious rhythm. Geometry and anguish. At first glance, the rhythm may be confused with gaiety, but when you look more closely at the mechanism of social life and the painful slavery of both men and machines, you see that it is nothing but a kind of typical, empty anguish that makes even crime and gangs forgivable means of escape."

a Manhood teaching #3

"Parenting is a discipline, and Mother is the primal force of man and nature. Not understanding the concept and the idea of the Sacred Feminine creates a creative flaw of character and perception. On the other hand the re-thinking of the concept and the essence of Manhood will save lives and transition more boys into Manhood with a depth within their tutoring and the manifestation of True Men becoming more in line with Creation, Obatala, Jesus Christ, the Buddha, and the Sacred Feminine."

MEN, PRISON, RAPE, TRANSITION

Life behind bars

I pay attention to the correlation between behaviors, incarceration, men raping women, women and girls living against the natural essence of the Sacred Feminine as a reaction and defense to men’s belief-systems, homosexuality, and the contradictions embedded within the tenets of Christianity in practice in the boys groups, and the men groups I facilitate. This is the simplest way I know to express complex issues around prison that surface in silent lives moving among us who have spent time in prison.

Are we seeing change of perceptions about prison or is money; the chance to profit from incarceration the agent of change at work in how white collar criminals approach restitution, punishment, and predatory sex in jail? According to this website, (Wall Street Prison Consultants) and a few others white collar criminals have courses available to them before they go to prison teaching survival in prison. Among regular folk services like this are unheard of, and as far as I know, transitional programs for prisoners released from jail are ineffective and leave as taboo the face and fact of predatory sex among men and women in jail.

Buried deep in the wounds and lives of inmates, former inmates, and their families lurks the dark hand of a secret we joke about, and deny at the same time. I see its hand in the children I work with. It is the dark side of the political power of the Gay community.

…Our fear of asking the right questions of the issues of our times affects our children. ~ Dawn Wolf

TREE OF LIFE: Song of a Father to a daughter

photo of African-Indian woman, Mithia, outdoors sitting under a bush

“These pages from your life’s chapters are seeds becoming, growing into plants that expand into the deeper qualities of Life according to your needs, and definition of who you are. Maybe a tree will come forth over time bending in the wind with its waters flowing upward from Earth to Sky out of your womb to the tops of the tree you birthed. Atop the Tree of Life you have ushered into the world through honesty, and pain birds of all colors, and types, will fly into your leaves to play with each other. Perhaps the squirrels and their small relatives will add choruses to their play-songs, and contribute to the dancing leaves chattering under the hot Sun.

The Sacred Process of Birthing tills the soils of your Souls, and the harvest of your life is not the seeds you sowed, but the fruit the seeds your life planted that grew into other lives. Those folks’ growth spaces, their understanding of who they are and the Why of your existence will dance, one day, together. Somehow this makes sense only if one is in the process of unlearning, becoming and not in the anxiety of trying to control what they cannot control.” -Dawn Wolf

BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE by Rev. Sinclair Grey 111

Rev. Sinclair Grey III, M.Div.Pastor, The Liberation Temple(a non-denominational Christian Church)

Do you ever wonder if God is still in the blessing business? In other words, when everyone around you appears to be happy and satisfied, you feel stuck. That's right; stuck in everything while people around you are blowing up from the floor up. Whenever you spend your time judging blessings by what's happening on the outside, you'll neglect what's happening on the inside. Don't make the mistake of putting a label on material things as the only sign of a blessing. Think about it. You can have all the material things, but still feel miserable. If you don't believe me, look around you.

In this life, I've discovered that you're blessed beyond measure. Blessed because you've been given another opportunity to live for God and correct what's wrong in your life. Blessed because God's grace and mercy continues to shine upon you. Blessed because God has given you His Spirit to handle all the craziness around you. Anytime you fail to see that you're blessed, you're focusing on what you don't have instead of thanking God for what you do have. Let me say it this way. Whenever you're unappreciative of the blessings that God has deposited in your life, how can you expect to receive other blessings?

In this spiritual journey, you need to know that God blesses you everyday. Can you name a few of the blessings you've received? Let's move beyond the usual comments that He woke me up this morning, started me on my way, put clothes on my back, a roof over my head, food in my stomach, and money in my pocket. Trying going deeper with me for a moment and realize that God gives you peace in the middle of your storm, direction when there's confusion, safety in the midst of danger, and forgiveness when you've messed up. Being blessed is something you shouldn't take for granted. Often times, people don't realize they're blessed because they're so busy looking at the natural and forgetting the spiritual.

In writing to the people of Ephesus, the apostle Paul said, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." Please don't miss this. When you're part of God's family, you live in a state of continual blessings. How is it possible? Because God is your Heavenly Father and He supplies all of your needs according to His riches in glory. Receive what God has given you and be a blessing to others. That's my word for you. Live each day knowing that you're blessed beyond measure. When you do, you'll see yourself growing in every area of your life.

PSYCHOPATH TEST

Read the following question, come up with an answer. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads. No one I know has gotten it right. Few people do.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

Give this some thought before you answer.

Answer:

She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to determine if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.
If you didn't answer the question correctly, good for you.If you got the answer correct, please let me know so I can take your crazy ass outa my life!

D A W N W O L F

"Here is a perfect rendition of the dream I held of a medicine bird I would love to have upon my body. The story of my native name, Dawn Wolf, is in this drawing. The artist is a London-based one named edit magyar (http://editmagyar.blogspot.com/).
I have wanted a tattoo for years. I wouldn't because I never wanted to have an identifiable mark on me that would be used against me. Having dark skin is a challenge in police states or the United States. But her art work sings to me. I am older now, and those youthful concerns don't occupy my thought process. I am concerned about the permanence of tattoos. Energies move around, and perceptions change us, and the world around us. My only reluctance to a tattoo centers on this understanding ofenergy, and how it moves.

If I was to have a tattoo I would design a ceremony around it and move into the era of my living for the time of the energy reflected in the drawing. Tattoos come from a deep place within us, and arose from the histories we share with people long since departed from our atmosphere; perhaps our galaxy. Tattooes are mirrors when viewed from above by those-who-see-far. We are not alone on this planet. We agreed to live with others we don't see, and others we have forgotten. Tattoos single the wearer out, making inaudible sounds in a language we forgot to a people we don't remember but imitate, and dream about day and night. Isn't that something?" – Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

WHOLENESS

My colleague, Adruma Victoria, encourages people not to seek perfection but wholeness. He says the common New Testament scripture that extols perfection is an incorrect translation of Greek. The Greeks word is wholeness not perfection. Not ain't that easier to attain?

RAINBOW EAGLE, PEACE SHIELD & PROPHECY

Hope Found in Teachings of an Ancient American Indian Peace Shield
by Rainbow Eagle, Seventh Fire Peace Shield Teacher

I am a native person of Okla-Choctaw heritage, who has been entrusted and honored, in this Seventh Fire, to offer the teachings of an ancient Anishinabe (Ojibwa) Peace Shield of Truth and instructions to the Human Family one last time. The ancient truths of this shield are older than many sources including the Dead Sea Scrolls. Gathering and increasing truth's power to restore and amplify peace upon Mother Earth is the ultimate purpose of the Peace Shield. A bundle was opened in early 1996 in a special ceremony to begin the sacred mission of the Peace Shield. Contained within the bundle is a sacred prayer pipe and large elk hide upon which the Peace Shield is drawn.

"The Seven Fire Prophecy" foretold of this time to the ancient people. Seven prophets spoke of a Fire or Spiritual chapter, which described things, which would happen to the people. The Seventh Prophet said that native ways would be honored and the Elders would again speak. Also shared was, the light skinned race would be given a choice between two roads: destruction or the lighting of the Eighth and final fire, an age of peace, love, joy and oneness. In addition, the Seventh Fire foretold of the signals, which would be given to Native People so they would know when to act for the good of "All Relations." The signals would include environmental concerns, risks to the destruction of humanity, high levels of technology, Earth Changes, and finally Freedom for Native people to participate in their beliefs.

The Peace Shield is a reminder to Native people that in the Seventh Fire it would be their responsibility to assist and help bring the Human Family back together again. "These original truths of the Peace Shield are to be given to the Human Race for the last time so that each person can have what they need to decide the future of our Mother Earth." The Peace Shield teaches the value, beauty, wisdom and wonder of walking into the future with great faith and absolutely no fear. In the past the Peace Shield provided community and personal stability, it now charters for human kind a journey into the blessed future. The Peace Shield brings this challenge to all Earth Walkers - become more aware of and develop respect for all religions and ways of reaching toward the Creator. The peace Shield has a specific circle that honors and holds the energy of those prophets, messengers and spiritual leaders who are the reflections or rays of light that emit the truths and glow of the Great Source/Creator. Unique to the Peace Shield is the bringing of a "sharing table" into the Lodge of the Creator.

At this table, the Human Family can become aware of our neighbors that share this earthly planet. As each person, group and community of believers’ talks with each other, the outcome promised in many prophecies comes nearer. I believe that spirituality lives first in one's personal expression of truth, second, in the choice to find companionship with others and third in the courage and self-discipline to walk one's talk in the next "fire" or dimension of existence. One reminder is presented here for all to consider.

Sacred scrolls and documents will be brought out of their concealment when the people return to spiritual ways, "By Faith Alone." We must take time to reflect upon our native warriors and aborigines who exhibited no fear in purer cultural times. A significant blessing, and gift, of the Peace Shield is its energy to balance oneself and groups. The task of spiritual beings in the Seventh Fire is the balancing or the strengthening of two aspects of our personal outlook on life. Having achieved this balancing of two truths, there develops within our spiritual being a totally new aspect within us. This new aspect, a third dimension of self, can assist and literally propel us into or towards a new reality of life, or step into the future. Many of us are standing at some sort of "Y" in the road. I believe the Peace Shield within us and the Peace Shield(s) by ancient ones can shed light upon our journey back to the side of the Creator and Community. The future will be created by each one of us. Let us all anticipate and prepare, even celebrate our Journey toward new realities of life.

the DEVIL

"Others will use commitment as a means of avoiding God. And still others need validation from others to move closer to God." -Rev. Sinclair Grey 111

This is a remarkable observation, Sinclair! This phenomenon did not occur within indigenous cultures of the world in this manner. The existence of God and a relationship with God was not first an intellectual exercise. Spirit was the same as breath. Being close to Earth in an honoring relationship with the Earth is the line of demarcation between spirituality and religion and Christianity and the spirituality of the indigenous people before the blood bath of the missionary periods.

The missionary and the churches forced the notion that became a belief that the devil was everywhere in everything. The spiritual (natural) practice of native folks was outlawed and the custodians of Earth were forced to accept a belief system antagonistic towards the Goddess, honoring of the feminine, the give-away, offerings, ceremony and ritual, and the flowing relationship between Earth, people and Spirit.

Traditions came from intimate relationships and insights into the “Spirit-that-moves-within-all-things”. The approach to acceptance of callings on one’s life to serve God did not have the judgments and condemnations common to Christianity. The relationship between Spirit and a person allowed and expected the natural tendency to run from one’s calling to be a healer, a heyoka, teacher, or peace keeper, whatever. The questions of eternity did not start from a Western perspective where the acquisition of things held the highest value. The mind of the West (Christianity) needs to justify misdeeds and altercations between Mother (the Earth) and child but the indigenous spirit needs to seek balance. This is a fundamental difference between a Western and Christian approach to life, commitment and the natural Earth and the Earth way of indigenous cultures the world over.

ELDERS WISDOM

"We create that bad among ourselves. We create it; then we try to call it devil, satan, or evil. But man creates it. There is no devil. Man creates the devil."

-Wallace Black Elk, Lakota

Inside every human being are the laws and codes by which we should live. These laws and codes are communicated to us through a little voice. When we are still, this voice guides us. If we choose to live out of harmony, our lives become filled with anger, hate, selfishness, dishonesty, etc... When these things appear in our lives, we give up accountability and blame it on something or someone else. If we want to live in harmony, we need to pray our way back to living the principles the Creator gave us.

Grandfather, today let me walk with the principles.

THE TREE OF REASON

Women
are like apples on trees
the best ones are at the top of the tree
The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they
are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead they get the rotten apples from the ground
that aren't as good but easy. So the apples at the top think that something
is wrong with them when in reality they are amazing. They
Just have to wait for the right man to come along
The one's who are brave enough to climb
all the way
to the top of
the tree

classic Indian beauty of Persia Pele

"Beauty is an inescapable part of living. Its pure form breaks down into divisible points of contact with our higher and lower senses, and our mature or immature understanding of Self. Where Beauty stands depends upon our relationships with the Mother Source: our Earth, the Sacred Feminine and the Sacred Masculine in ourselves, and the glow, almost imperceptibly, smiling at the daunting magnificence of our admiration of it: Beauty.

We learn how to position our lives into place positioned for its gifts, and wonder. Beauty changes form like the mythological creatures of dreams, and old stories of fairies, and little people invisible to practical minds. It is a safe place being beautiful, and in possession of knowledge of magic, and the science of intellectual achievement. Beauty of form creates a mind artists need to carry visions from one dimension to another dimension. Beauty is she and he like Obatala androgynous, and conscious of its various patterns weaving in and out of what we know, see, relate to and fathom.

Such is Beauty as she talks to me.” - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories, 2009

CREATION STORY: AMERICAN

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?"

And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied, "Yes! And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs.

Metis Culture

"You have noticed that everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round ... The Sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours....""Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves. - Black Elk, Ogalala Sioux, 1863-1950

Metis cultures, like the word "metis" or "mestizo" is mixed. The cultures are a composite of the ancestry of the individual with a heavy emphasis on a person's individual Native American heritage. The "culture" of a Red River Metis will be quite different from a Metis (mixed blood) whose heritage and teachings are Cherokee, Blackfoot, Seneca, Cree, Crow, Lakota, etc. Often the day-to-day mundane life of today's Metis can be described as mainstream blue collar or white collar. In the area of spirituality and religion, custom, manners and relationships with the world and its inhabitants, however, a true Metis walks within the Circle of Life.

There are variations in practices, traditions and ceremony among the various Metis groups or nations, just as there are variations among Native American tribes and nations. People who identify themselves as Metis are generally unique in that they honor all parts of their ancestry. A Metis may sit and play a lively tune on a fiddle, or solemnly light their personal prayer pipe. Today's Metis may run a business or dig ditches during the day, then spend the evening telling their children the legend of how the bear lost its tail. They may just as easily sing "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" as they can relate to the spirit of a tree in their backyard. The mixture of immigrant bloods and Native American cultures enhances who they are --- the people who own themselves, the people who take "honoring our ancestors" quite literally.

True Metis place high value on, give proper honor to, and hold sacred the aboriginal side of their ancestry. Ceremonies and rituals must be learned through the time-honored oral traditions of a person's particular native heritage. No secrets are revealed on this website; no sacred rituals written down. We share only the universal truths of the Sacred Hoop --- as described so eloquently by Black Elk in his own personal vision.

The Metis of MNS, our religions and our cultures, are as individual as the numbers of people who have joined our organization. We are joined together in our Native heritage and in our efforts to seek recognition for the victims of genocide. We are a family of castaways clinging together to rise above the flood of genocide --- to build a raft (foundation) for our children and our children's children.

Stories, general articles on Native cultures and traditions, and general information on these topics are provided for educational use. Contributions are welcome and the author will be given credit for their work. No rituals or ceremonies of any tribal nation will be published

EAGLE IN THE SUN

My wings take me highTonight I stand on the edge of Black Hills where I was born high up on the edge of the world where my spirit entered.

I see our Earth Mother as she shifts and struggles to survive. I see my family as they hold on to the last of the ways and pray for the return of the Buffalo and Eagle Nation. Like the dry prairie grass the are holding on for the return of the healing rains.

The land is parched from lack of rain the plants hold tight to the dry breasts of Mother Earth, she cannot continue on this way to feed her children. Poison flows in her system and she suffers from this without tears.

With open arms, I put on my feathered eagle wings and prepare to fly into the moon lit night sky.
My strong wings take me high up to the stars. I once saw my people go there and they too became the stars. I feel their spirits all around me, watching us in sadness for the pain of the Earth Mother.

I see my son, my bothers, my sisters, mother, and father all my relations are the stars that shine. Each one is watching over us and protect us during the day and the night.
Tonight I will go and see my relation and ask them to send us the way to heal our Mother Earth.

May the thunder beings open up the clouds and wash her with healing rain. Let all this be so that our children and our children’s children will know the beauty that lies below me as I fly. I shall return in the rain with my spirit as the Eagle.

Guantanamo Bay, Terror & Bullshit

Musicians crank up the volume on Guantanamo debate
AP, Oct 21, 2009
A coalition of mega-bands and singers outraged that music — including theirs — was cranked up to help break uncooperative detainees at Guantanamo Bay is joining retired military officers and liberal activists to rally support for President Barack Obama's push to shutter the Navy-run prison for terrorist suspects in Cuba.
Pearl Jam, R.E.M., and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails are among the musicians who have joined the National Campaign to Close Guantanamo, which launched Tuesday.
On behalf of the campaign, the National Security Archive in Washington is filing a Freedom of Information Act request seeking classified records that detail the use of loud music as an interrogation device.
"At Guantanamo, the U.S. government turned a jukebox into an instrument of torture," said Thomas Blanton, executive director of the archive, an independent, nongovernmental research institute....

SWEATLODGE DEATHS, TRADITION & PROFITS pt.2

I don’t see the light of wisdom in the saga of the sweatlodge deaths a couple weeks ago in Arizona. I just saw CBS anchor, Harry Smith, interview Dr. Barbara Bunn, of Texas, who survived James Arthur Ray’s sweatlodge ceremony. It was a short interview but it was packed with pain, and revelation. Her telling dove into the viewer’s minds on different levels. A doctor, a blond, a solid individual with a rugged beauty struggling to fashion her words to convey the bewildering experience into a framed image of the contradictions of a ceremony gone awry. Her struggle to control her emotions and be as articulate as possible fell away recollecting how distant and uncaring the pourer was then and now. She said, “He abandoned us!” That interview was over an hour ago, and my own emotions are struggling within me trying to grasp the picture of an ancient ceremony gone to hell.

Dr. Bunn was Kirby Brown’s roommate. Ms. Brown died in the lodge, in a ceremony where people were not allowed to leave when the door was closed. Dr. Bunn said on the 5th round someone was unconscious.

"I can't get her to move. I can't get her to wake up," Bunn recalls hearing from two sides of the 415-square-foot sweat lodge. Ray's response: "Leave her alone, she'll be dealt with in the next round."

Her early morning interview describes a man, after the 6th round, whose eye blood vessels had burst. She saw people trying to resuscitate people for as long as fifteen minutes. She paired people up to sustain life, and created a system to keep people conscious by calling their names, and making sure no one was left alone feeling abandon. At this point she became more than a doctor. She became a mother insuring that the sense of abandonment dissipated into hope of living. How many of the survivors lived because a mother’s spirit resurrected the urge to live, and not wallow in the hopelessness of being abandon in the panic of darkness, and extreme heat?

At some point a discussion, and then action must begin among Wisdom Keepers, and others of similar kilt about the spirit, the mentality, and the consciousness of the Conqueror’s spirit dominate in white males. It is part of the spiritual responsibility of women, I sense, white women, in particular, to become deeply engaged in this work. It is fundamental to the change we need as a nation, as people, The world suffers from this aura. This paradigm dominated Mr. Ray’s lodge ceremony, and the abandonment Dr. Bunn painfully described is an attribute of white male entitlement, and the privilege of this paradigm. This paradigm rests in the bosom of conquering species, men, and brokers of power.

I am a man. I understand this paradigm. What man born in these times does not understand that this belief-system we are taught is a right to rule and dominate? But this paradigm is parceled out differently in American culture. Privilege goes to white men, and opportunity goes to other men, and hope of being a man to others. It was parceled out different to Black men. Until African-Americans were given full citizenship in the late 1960’s the right to protect our families hung on the whim of a white man’s or a white mob’s inclination. Native-American men were parceled out a different kind of male dominant medicine. It hinged on the brink of joblessness, and a deep sense of owning land with no ability to become a man who provides for his people as a warrior, a farmer, or a landowner. Chinese men were not allowed to have their families in the country as they built railroads. In place of wife and family prostitutes were sent to them after hard backbreaking work. And nowadays Chinese, Japanese, and Korean men operate from a different sense of privilege through economics, business and money. And this story goes on.

Being a man requires thought, and introspection. It, like patriotism, cannot be accepted superficially. So profound a state of being is manhood that it requires initiation, ceremony, and training from within the inner terrain of being to the outward touching of the world. Men, like me, need to perform as men, as Elders who understand, in depth their masculinity, their powers, their role, and relationship to Earth, Spirit, woman, family, children and the sacred spaces of the Wombs they come from and enter in a lifetime of being a man.

It is not an easy task being a man for ordinary men a mere breathe from a primal state of being a boy. But without our intervention how will women feel confident enough to enter into their powers, their medicine into the development of boys into men, and men into Men? It is a fearful thing for women to enter into this arena without the preparatory work of men like myself to pave the way into the core beliefs of men, and their creation stories. Without the balance of mother’s energies, mother’s words, and her own struggle against this structure the birth of a boy into a man is crippled, stunted by an ill constructed birth canal.

These are my words, my thoughts.
