The virtue: PATIENCE

farm house Capanno nei campi in a storm.

Patience does not mean to passively endure. It means to be farsighted enough to trust the end result of a process. It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn. Impatience means to be shortsighted as to not be able to see the outcome. The lovers of God never runs out of patience, for they know that time is needed for the crescent moon to become full.” - Rumi

Fitness is Sacred?

black athlete Tasha Fit years ago

#tbt  This is one of my favorite pictures despite not being the most flattering. I remember taking this picture and feeling good in my skin and confident. I felt beautiful.
Beauty is more than a size, or any other arbitrary number. It is more than a six pack or thin thighs. Beauty is embracing your imperfections and owning it. Beauty is being confident in your skin and not letting others define your beauty or self worth. Stretch marks, cellulite, loose skin…yep, I got those too (along with 99% of the rest of the female population). Sometimes I let it get to me but most of the time I embrace it. It tells my story. Own it and hold your head up high and aim for progress not perfection. - Tasha Fit, 7.10.14 #I_am_more_than_a_six_pack #Own it#chase_your_greatness

black athlete Tasha Fit's baby announcement

Tasha Fit announced she and her husband were expecting their first child in July 2015. On her Facebook page she posted a humorous photo befitting the giddiness and the splendid wonder of the news of a transitional process in her thinking about self to thinking about a baby.

In response I wrote, "I am very happy for you. Carrying a child, being the parent of a child is a deep story that began as a child. Your childhood, you'll discover, feeds your children. I envy you the journey.

As your pregnancy grows in days and deepens into who you are would you write about the womb from the perspective of an athlete who takes stock in the 6-pack? I know the average woman does not consider the Wisdom of the Sacred Feminine, but as a father and a man for years I've been puzzled about the mysterious contradictions American women hold within themselves about the womb, their bodies, their powers."

In response to someone else's comment she said, "abs are made in the kitchen. For me, my midsection really started to transform once I started to eat unprocessed food and limit my sugar intake. The sugar part was huge for me because I have a sweet tooth."

Does motherhood become an athlete? Does motherhood ascend or descend a woman into activism for self and baby? I wonder about this at times because the care and utter magnificence of women defending their babies at any cost is amongst other things political activism perhaps because women have not as yet control over their bodies, and without question do not have control over their images of self! - Gregory E. Coloured thoughts of, about and for Life

Someone must've said these words, "Love is a symbol of eternity. It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end." Who said them? This is one deplorable things about the Internet. The overwhelming numbers of people without journalistic training, respect for scholarship in possession with scant knowledge about intellectual properties and the courtesies around it. ~ Gregory E. A School of Thought: ROOT WORK

house wife Elena Mae

"Critical theory is a social theory oriented toward critiquing and changing society as a whole, in contrast to traditional theory oriented only to understanding or explaining it. Critical theories aim to dig beneath the surface of social life and uncover the assumptions that keep us from a full and true understanding of how the world works. It was developed by a group of sociologists at the University of Frankfurt in Germany who referred to themselves as The Frankfurt School." - anon

Light in the EYES

Chicktagram

May 23, 2013

I've lived long and deep in my life. I've had long moments to look deep into the faces, and the eyes of beautiful women. I've relished beautiful and expansive glimpses into the mysterious, and had many opportunities to partake of forbidden fruits, and been able to touch things, powerful things I had to develop to grow into. Faces have always been able to hold captive the things of good and evil, light and shadow, and been able to illuminate souls with mere glances into what animates the face into beauty and away from blight, and been able to make promises and imply.

God has been given a face, and one of two genders. Youth comes with a look, and age develops. The face of things are rarely what they seem, and what is the face of an issue, or an idea is grounded in ideas about self, and where one fits. Our faces are storytellers, and who we are is always beneath the surface. If we mature and deepen who we are comes to live in our face, and projects outward from within.

Let's face it. Our faces have their own beauty, and presents to the world facades, and facts. - Gregory E. Woods 5.24.13

LIKE AN EAGLE

Here's Your Assignment - Soar Like An Eagle
By Dr-Sinclair N. Grey III

People who are not afraid to step out on faith will soar like an eagle. Let me say it this way. Whoever neglects trusting in God to order their steps will always remain grounded. That's right; grounded in frustration, grounded in disappointment, and grounded in feeling insignificant. However, if you're willing to do what God commissions you to do, He'll equip you as well as empower you. I urge you to not allow anyone or anything stand in your way from soaring like an eagle.

The Bible gives us the powerful prayer of Jabez which is recorded as "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from hurt and harm!" Please don't miss this. The prayer of Jabez isn't about fear or doubt. Here's the Sinclair remix. The moment you realize that God has so much for you and the only person who can stop YOU is YOU, the quicker you'll strengthen your faith and resolve to be all the YOU that God has called YOU to be. VIRGINITY: first a virgin

Virginity:

Have a bit of respect for this. The first time doesn't so much 'matter more' to a woman than to a man, but it matters differently. If you find yourself getting into bed with a girl who is a virgin on only a few hours or minutes acquaintance, your're going too fast for both of you. For a start, she's unlikely to be baby-proof: stay with the non-coital extras until you're both quite sure you know what you are doing. Cutting notches is irresponsible. Whatever you do be gentle and slow, as she's bound to be tense and nervous - even if she doesn't look it.

Girls who are virgins will usually say (you can't tell reliably by inspection) and a loving man will ask - men don't usually advertise the fact. However experienced he seems, the idea should be in the back of the woman's mind that this could be the first time and he may need help: if you're critical or disappointed you could do real mischief. If you're both virgins, you are starting from scratch - don't hurry it.

There's usually no physical problem over first intercourse if you're careful. The commonest is simply male over-eagerness or nervousness. If there are problems, get them dealt with at once.

demands upon a woman

Mary wasn't the first holy virgin. The mother of Jesus was not the first to have the story of immaculate conception. That being said let these words be the impetus for an intellectual journey and spiritual adventure to unravel what you have accepted as Biblical truth and look beyond the guise of originality Western Christianity imposes upon the senses at the same time espousing a lifetime of separation from Earth's energies, and a spiritual conquest of women's wombs, their sexuality with the props that support the illusion of power. An example of the illusion is as simple as the priest robes worn by Roman Catholic priests. The most horrific take over was the conquest of the womb by rape, and the assumptions of Western medicine that white men know more about birth than any woman's mid-wife. - Gregory E. ART of the BODY

portrait of Kim Kardashian

"At some point do women ask themselves questions about their sacredness? Against the knowledge of the Womb, a spiritual force, why emphasize the development of a six-pack and refer to pregnancy as a bump? It is a great mysterious spirit the feminine, but how often do men feel the depth of it with emphasis upon other things away from that mystery?" ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.8.15

New Testament

The New Testament speaks of karma and resurrection in the same breaths. The words, as I recall are 'as so above so below...'

In many churches I've learned from, or in Sunday school the subjects of multiple lives, reincarnation, and karma were either avoided, or explained away by scriptures like the one that said there is only one death, or that Jesus died for our sins. Maybe he did, but his three days after crucifiction took him to hell where he restored life to some of the dead. On the cross he promised eternal life for one thief, and the other had to face the karma of his action. What was Jesus teaching? ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 5.24.13

FALSE  FACE

Rachel Williams - warning

"As a culture we tell our women many stories that contradict us, and kills them at the same time makes money for men and promotes the ideal of feminizing masculinity, and demonizing what is innately sacred within women and the men who need and understand those roles. It is as if there is a sickness on a leash bent on the destruction of unity, understanding and terrified of the depth of human capacity."

Daddy, I thought of you in four stories

Human Zoos were popular entertainment amongst white people in the United States, Australia and Britain well into the 20th century. It is an unbroken legacy changed only by law; not necessarily within the heart to the degree that the evil of racism and white supremacy has left the heat of the land upon which it dwells in colored people's dreams and aspirations. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 1.24.15

2. The U.S. is a Vassal State of Israel

It is a very unpopular vote to vote on the side of Palestine. Over here in the States I can count on one hand how many times I've heard outrage in churches, or communities of people over the system of apartheid Israel holds over Palestinians. There are reasons for that. The very reasons there are are the very reasons something is askew within our thinking about life, liberty and justice! - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.24.15

3. Hitler in us?

If Hitler would come back into another life it would have not been as a physical resemblance of himself. There would be some sort of transformation within his being because in the transitory period from his former life to another he would have suffered and gone through tremendous and unheard of (to us) trails and retributions to even see the light of another life upon the Earth, our Mother. It is not to say he would have ascended from the role he played as Destroyer or ascended from the depths of the lowest energies he maneuvered in into high ranges of creative and transformative energies!

If life after death is like the three blood religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) teach he wouldn't return. He'd be in hell, fire and brimstone forever. But, if life in each form including the deaths we experience from birth to grave transforms us what would a Hitler transform into? Or do the Hitlers in our world serve as a cleansing purpose to make good people live better, honest people tell the truth, cowards stand up for others or the fearful find courage? - Gregory E. Woods, 1.24.15

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said,

4. Responsibility of a King

This past weekend for a lack of a better way to put it belongs to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There is a lot to say about his legacy and about the citizens who occupy the country. White people need direction and guidance out of their creative illusions that exclude them from being a part of the solutions for racial divisions, and Black people need guidance through the maze of our fear based contradictions about being free and freed from slavery. Koreans and Chinese and Hispanic American citizens need escape from their delusions about being white enough to be accepted by whites as equals. In the end they will find out they aren't with great and significant disappointment.

Black Americans no longer own the impetus of change the Civil Rights movement stirred on the balmy water of Southern congeniality. White people do. The moment in 1963 in Washington DC is where Dr. King is interred for viewing and consideration and admiration. It is the most white American 'somebodies' can stomach from the profound changes Dr. King was in the midst of, created, and mustered into the social circles of Southern comfort and Northern pretense at liberalism.

Dr. Clarke, Black America's esteemed historian, scholar and thinker, pointed out in an interview when he was blind and old that Black People enjoyed the ceremony of protest and shunned the action and the work of change. He said it different in his own words, but it is ever so clear to me, and many others deeply involved and invested in the spiritual, and community work within the Black psyche.

That's what social work is. It involves work within the Black psyche. It is not about housing, social reform, legalization, it is about what swirls within the minds and spirits of a people who do not own themselves, do not own their own images; whose images are owned by white people with or without power. A people earmarked by slavery twice over are not as free as is proclaimed by Southern and Northern whites. With the legacy of slavery in our souls, and the law of the land allowing in its very constitution a continuation of its evil thread upon heart, mind, body and soul of darker hued people we are double slaves. That is not accurate for everyone physically because not every Black American has been or is incarcerated. What is true is the large number who are and have been are earmarked for it by a design. . . - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.20.15

Daddy holding his great grandaughter Erin-Elaine, my granddaughter, is a living reminder to me of the struggles of the Civil Rights movement and the impression of Black intelligentsia that is down played in Black culture. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories July 2015

the Weakness within his Strength

"Beyond words is the excitement of not knowing what to do, or what will happen in front of the obvious outcome of preceding events. At this point in time seduction is working on the recently loosened code of honor, and the walls are shaking atop the foundation. The strong man's fall is sudden from the outside looking at him, but for the seductress the work was work over a period of time that began with the subtle nudge against the tight hold on the warrior's creed." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 5.22.13

fear of WATER WARS

starving mother in Africa

"We can talk all day with righteousness but the history of the thinking of white people playing with words has got us to the brink of water wars from an arena of purposeful selfishness. The belief that white people can and should own water is a fight against Life and integrity indigenous peoples have fought against for hundreds of years. What difference will the outrage of whites make today? The thinking around this is grounded in the culture. Is it too late because it sure feels like it"

I woke up. It was late at night, long after midnight. I looked around realizing how tired I'd been a few hours before. The TV was watching me with its one eye. My cat and my wife had gone upstairs leaving me sprawled on the sofa deep in sleep. Groggy, I stumbled upstairs careful not to fall backwards.  The house was soft in its feel as usual. The wife's even breath was coming from one of the bedrooms. I could feel it. Teacher, my cat was sequestered somewhere where she could see everything. Outside it was dark and the outside cats I took care of were somewhere being warm in winter.

I stiffly walked down to the basement and picked up the remote. Showtime was showing a film, a documentary about a film director, Joe Sarno and his wife, Peggy. The film was a compelling introspective about a man with a vision about films about sex, story centered around women and femininity. "Confessions of a Young American Housewife" came out in 1974. I had never heard of them or their films. After a thoughtful ending I switched channels to "The Submission of Emma Marx" that began with a woman bent over a man's lap while he spanked her. Over the scene a woman was narrating her speculation about how she wound up in this position with no will.

"... But, how does anyone define (normal) for themselves? By society's standards it would be anything that doesn't challenge an expected idea or behavior. Living the text book perfect life in order for everyone else to accept you even if you don't accept you..." were the words that struck a cord within me.

What do you think of yourself?
