From the Deep Place

Muhammad Ali and his younger brother Rahman Ali, with their grandmother provokes the thought of the loss in American life: the proper respect for the old, the wise old people, and the prospect of dying. It is embedded within Life to live, to die, and to profit from the benefits of Life, as a man, as a woman. What is wrong in the ideology of American life is the inherited disrespect for Life Europe peed into the souls of the Africans, and the First Nation's peoples! Undoing this is Sacred Work, and terrifying because it goes against what replaced who we are and were meant to become before 'they' came to kill, and take! - Gregory E. First amazement, then unlearning.

Eunice Gayson is the first Bond Girl!

Seducing Helena Price is difficult under her spells. She is in control. Bible says, "A man that cannot control his spirit is like a city without walls." What does that mean in this spirit, this moment when a woman opens her legs your direction? Enthralled is not the time to decide to be strong of spirit when a woman has your loins in her invisible grip...

"Is this respectful, or creative?"

"Unbelief in the strength of women is founded on a concept of an overextended version of male superiority that suffers under the glare of our women, who know better. In the context of Black American history the strength of concepts from matrilineal societies hold Black families intact. Today, all the factors that debilitated the new Africans in the Americas were challenged by the old, strong traditions from the Land of the Blacks!..."

Differences between the African and the Euro-American

Abby Parece ,by the way in jeans, makes the light look better back in 2015!...

Abby Parece made a statement in 2015: "If you keep looking back you might miss what is standing right in front of you!" "What would Sankofa say?" would be the question to ask, not being a white man. I am an African First Nation man.

Sankofa affirms the spiritual practice of looking backwards to better see the present and the future. It is distinctly Akan, from the Adinkra system of writing in present day Ghana and the Ivory Coast. In Colonial times European countries after slaughter and subjugation the continent of Africa was divided amongst the war participants against African rule, thus becoming countries with multi-linguistic groups, and cultures living in new circumstances.

The immediate task to maintain cultures and rituals throughout the continent of Africa was, and to this day difficult because Europeans as Colonial powers are extremely brutal. There are quite a number of West African authors, from the 1960's onward who have critiqued this time and illustrated detailed stories of that initial period, and how it moved through the decades. In these struggles, Sankofa was the appropriate technique amongst others to maintain the ancient cultures as France, and England, in particular thrust their nasty spirit into daily life!

In the United States, white Americans have inflicted themselves with gross contradictions to live by as they spread dark forces upon the people indigenous to this land, and the enslaved Africans they kept alive to copulate bringing forth more 'property' to bear upon their individual, and collective wealth. This system of manipulation for financial gain and cultural dominance to this end slaughter ancient ritual practices of the many African traditions that survived the Middle Passage. The Church, the educators, the business men, and the Department of War were the high priests of this orgy of dismantling the soul of people, Red and Black.

The 20th century bore fruit from this violence in both of our communities. Sankofa became more of a presence in the African spiritual communities in major cities as more and more Black American's struggles brought them closer home to who their ancestors prayed better understanding of self over mere survival. Washington DC's African spiritual communities are 'houses'.

There are eleven (11) houses: Yoruba, Akan, Ausar Auset, and one house of Voudoun. Each employ Sankofa in the practicality of unlearning what white people poured into our souls, as bowel. It is safe to say, and accurate to say the Sankofa presents itself to need, and is indifferent to being disregarded the way whites like to overcome their dichotomies with denial insisting upon other ethnic groups to simply get over whatever they (we) think they did to us!

4 Thoughts

ONE

23. Twenty-three years is a short long time. It is exciting because of what is not understood, known or discovered, yet. As each day is a step into adulthood one is undressing childhood. Unlearning is what this process is called. It is exciting, yes; but it is more difficult without wise elders to be tutored by, and without ancestral links to your people you've decided to walk without the wisdom...- Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 3/21/18

TWO

There is a deep feeling conveyed in a mother's touch and even better is the reciprocation of love taking on meanings inconceivable in our younger years. We never know what maturity is like until we mature, and we never fully embrace our mothers until their essence embodies ours when they leave here. These mysterious interactions are meant to be what they are: mysterious. Because we don't understand everything we have the luxury of enjoying everything we learn to appreciate...

Mommy left me with this knowing I'd come to feel this. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 3/23/18

THREE

You know this, but others need to understand the basis of Native life: spiritual responsibility has natural responses in every act of living. Without the sense of spiritual responsibility in one's life any brutality can pass a litmus test. Without the people fully engaged in their spiritual responsibility chaos would race across all of existence creating terror within a type of hell too horrible to live through, and hard to describe to the simple minded or those living deep in denial... - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 3/22/18

FOUR

"A racist theory on athletics would have you believe that athletic blacks are not exceptional because their athleticism is natural but blacks that are non-athletic are defective while athletic whites are exceptional, the product of commitment and discipline, but non-athletic whites are just normal. Exceptional is just that, without regard for race." - Karl Brower 3/21/18

Balance needs purpose.

A Black woman wearing a denim shirt with open shoulders comfortable in black leather pants is sporting something special a man would hopefully like to explore, if he can see beyond the fashion as style and see.

"Defining one's self is as important and wondrous an exploration as unlearning the governing stories of one's life. Both definition and unlearning play into the why of existence in a parallel relationship with how things work.

It is more of a mystery not walking this path in Life."

The Old Speak against the trend.

body of Tiffany Joy.

"Cool elegant smile speaks subtly to the person receiving the look."
[The] "cool elegant smile speaks subtly to the person receiving the look." is one of the observations my father took notice of, and commented on during the long years I knew Daddy.

Fathers show their sons what is important to notice about women, and tells the sons, by action, the many things too subtle to number that need attention to in the course of time with women. What young men have always done in pursuit of sex has been to stalk it without nourishing their potency with restraint, for the purpose of being able to better see who they are pursing.

Today's cultural tendency to continually give credence and honor to the 'pimp game' has left in the wake of its prominence hiding in the swamps, the dignity of character that propels men to be better men! Women, content with their whore status in this game, keep the crudeness on the rise against the backdrop of women clamoring for their rights in every sphere of the culture, here in the States! Unable to see the dichotomy of these forces women and men insist upon living their contradictions without challenge; thus choosing to be overwhelmed by the consequences they seek quick fixes for!

Children come out of this cultural milieu unsupported by wisdom, and the protection of understanding their histories and the histories of things! Lacking true insight and taking counsel, not with wise elders, or statesmen of note in their immediate grasp of people encircling their lives; they take counsel from those who don't know: their peers. A lot of stupid decisions are made by these young people. Dumb unproductive discussions without a spiritual base occur leaving them without any basis in a probing understanding of who they are, and where they fit in the world from the perspective of divinity, or at the least; in the ideal of being a person, in the moment.

As I will say again: "Breath allows hope to manifest an actuality!" As long as the human spirit lives in a physical body there is the hope of spiritual evolution! That is how the old and the wise sense things out of the intangible, the unimaginable and hard to manage as reality! May the young rest upon this as they grow to unlearn to learn what they have missed without adults mature and deep enough to make their next generation more than!

This is all judgment and assessment in the aftermath of European conquest, and the undoing of what held the world together!

The cost

Gospel singer, Tina Campbell, made a smug statement supporting Donald Trump for President during his bid for the office in 2016. Tina Campbell, of the powerful gospel dual, Mary Mary, nearly a year since Trump has been in office is feeling the consequence of her support for Trump, from her fans. She felt it clearly admitting: "...overall ticket sales haven’t shown that we have the support that we need to continue the tour at this time"

Since Mary Mary member and gospel singer Tina Campbell revealed her vote for former reality television star Donald Trump, disappointment has washed over her devout fan base because she ignored her people's history, and scorned their deep knowledge of white men! Despite Tina’s adamant defense and explanation for her political decision, fans did not buy it. In one movement she isolated herself from her people's collective history.

She should have kept her mouth shut and she should have studied what she really believed instead of insisting upon being the version of Christianity that is the source of Black people's tragedies. This raging conflict with so many Colored folks, like her, is the lie that supports the myth that some white guy, who looks like the white Jesus, will save 'us'. That little thing called 'studying to show one's self approved...' has to be intelligent counsel. Voting against one's own interest is the unstudied way of being both loyal to the perceptions of white people, and being a 'good Christian' making a stand to make white people feel good about themselves. - Gregory E. C L A S S

Nancy Wilson by Jack Vartoogian honored at the Kennedy Center 2013

Nancy Wilson is the epitome of elegance, and what I call: "Ladyship". Elegance is important and neglected in the development of girls into women, and amongst women a major flaw they seem, for the most part, unaware of why and how this is fundamental to the role of being a woman. If the female is out of balance and they are married to the creative process of life continuing in the profound and fundamental way that births at all levels Creator design for life to dance with death towards resurrection to life again. If we understand what happened to white women from Europe we can see why the dysfunction plaguing the lives of American women's sense of self and place and significance began there and how it holds dominance in the insignificance women battle against in male dominated value systems.

The indigenous peoples of Turtle Island are invisible to American citizens. The African Diaspora , weighed down by the history of terror inflicted upon the soul of the women birth this legacy, this dichotomy to each child into families broken by our relationship with these people. Still embraced by the changes white women forced on our thinking, and sense of self we cannot find 'salvation' in their approach to the fundamentals of the feminine place in Creation. Our salvation is in 'unlearning' everything we learned from them. This is the initial discipline missed in our assessment of what we should do to connect with what matters to us, and from our ancient times remember what we knew, and what compelled the European to travel hundreds of miles to learn from the universities in North Africa.

This composure, this force!

"Unlearning Woman" is a concept, a discipline, a possibility laden within the soul of male dominated societies. Men drive the need for this, and women provide the resistance! It is remarkable, huh; this clash of the obvious? - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/1/17
