Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z named the child Blue Ivy Carter for reasons that reflect the uniqueness of their union and the emergence of the triangle from their loving circle. The word from GMA is that the couple chose the name Ivy because of the significance of the number 4 (IV) in their lives. Beyoncé was born September 4^th and her husband the 4^th of December.
