Being vulnerable is not only unique among the young, but for adults it is an act of power. Loving someone and having love reciprocated is dependent upon the intent of each person in a relationship. An obvious flaw in the divinity of exchange and sharing the space of soul is in what people believe. The belief structures we have attract the people we need, and the people who will wound us until we learn the exact measurements of who we are.
Young women's belief in the characters who performed for them as adults when they were children find their early 20's difficult when they learn that what they believe is stronger than whatever religion they espouse.
"What do you believe?"
"Why enter into a relationship that is not reciprocal?"
