There is a visual dance contemporary thought and concepts go through to appreciate alternative reality and models. It is a lot to ask of traditions to view the world through the eyes of women who see themselves outside the common ledger of the script their society hands them when they are girls. That is a tough pill to swallow: conformity. Conformity is comfort for many and bondage to others. As others fight to be free of convention fear settles in the many who see this as risque.
"Is it worth it to risk being cast out?" They'll ask. And that is a good question. Is it worth the struggle to be free of bonds?
Some think so and fight for it. Others have proven that brutal deaths are worth the risk to be liberated! So, perhaps the spectacle is not the alternative models, or women that grace the covers of social outcast lifestyles to pity, but those clinging to what others think for acceptance!
