Oh, God! That brings into terrible focus the gross contradictions of our (American's) obsessions. Bulimia, anorexia, and whatnot have never caught any sympathy from me. It is comprehensible against what I've seen living in the Philippines, and North and West Africa alone. American women's plight around food has never fallen within the concern of the rest of the world when it is outside the perimeters of survival. We have privilege. We have privileged concerns and worries that belong only to the elite when it comes to food. Our excess distresses and shudders the traditional boundaries set up by decency and balance...

CHEMTRAILS, a problem

Spent many days as a kid, and many of those days I would look up. We all did. We aloud wondered about those lines. There was a difference between an airplane's trail across the sky, and those lines that started out as straight, and slowly widened and dissipated. That took a long time, and we'd loss interest standing there looking up when it was our turn at bat, or someone was next in a game of tag.

None of the adults knew what those lines meant and Mommy would always slightly smile looking up to see the space ships, or flying creatures I thought were in the sky leaving lines. That's what I remember. And then I grew up when a few years ago someone showed me a documentary about chemtrails. 

"Damn." was all I could say in astonishment. 

Now what to do about it? I don't know. How do I contribute? My medicine takes me away from the political front lines. The question I ask, and I am sure others ask is simple, clear and to the bone of activism. "What are my gifts and how can I contribute?

Mine are in the spiritual arts, and the creative arts where I've been a part of solutions for a long time. 

Another question is a question that always arises. "What is the next right step?"

FUTURES OF WOMEN

In my library I have a study that disturbs me. I cannot remember the title, but it is the end result of governments hiring a firm to create possible scenarios of what could happen if such and such a condition were allowed to follow its natural course. I had great difficulty with the findings from the questions about women’s future in the next century. This study was conducted in the 1990's.

In their findings they followed the trend of women's well earned and fought for freedoms, and predicted that with the rise of the conservative agendas the first thing to be attacked and reversed would be the gains of women. This would be a worldwide phenomenon. The predictions were shattering to me thinking about the futures of my then young teenage daughters.

The predictions are coming to pass throughout the planet, and predictably there is an outcry from the 'liberated women, and men in the United States' to the degree that it should be. There are a lot of women, American, Indian, Malaysian, Korean, etc., fighting to be free at the cost of their lives. Keeping this in mind, why do the Americans that do vote vote men into power over their lives, whose open agenda is against our mothers, our wives, daughters, and grandmothers? © Gregory E. Woods

CLIMATE CHANGE; a creation story

The people who cannot admit that climate change has become a global reality are the Fat Takers' grandchildren and disciples. It was the Lakota People who saw into the Newcomers souls and named them the Fat Takers. Today the 'deniers' as you call them are selfish to their cores and riddled with fears. Their minds, and spirits are like bullet ridden or disease ridden corpses clinging to a lifeless idea of opportunity to live like kings. They can be introduced to Life, but Life terrorizes them. Jesus cannot save them for they want not to be saved. So what do we do? Save ourselves, and the lot who have gone to higher ground to start new lives within themselves will be the new world's Adam and Eve's.

AMERICAN PASTIME: denial

The deep and long legacy of fears the Europeans carried with them to the Americas needs more attention than causes. Causes are worthwhile, but the strange nature of Western causes exacerbates the problems. The resistance to do what I call 'root work' supports the frantic efforts to undo established structures of thought centuries old to save animals, and habitat from the unchecked ravages of a beast that knows no bounds, respects nothing feminine, nor understands sacredness of land, or the language of animals and plants or the Earth, our Mother. Causes do not know how to bridge the gaps between four aspects of human beings. Causes are intellectual endeavors fueled by emotions, but ungoverned by spirit. The body of truth about dysfunctional relationships with all of Creation is the best way to describe funded causes to save this and to save that.
