Care, balance & change

I rest throughout the long holiday season even more than I normally do throughout the year. Care for self is fundamental to healing work, labor, artistic endeavors, or any work or pursuit a person is bound to take on in life. It is not part of the American work ethic to rest, and as a result the typical citizen is not healthy. Balance is not a part of the American dream. Neither is moderation, respect for the earth we feed from, nor is the duration of resting respected in the active formulas for success. Our belief system and obsessions are our downfall and our God. How to become human is difficult in our culture's mindset.

We are not evolved, or enlightened. If our thinking and way in the world were evolved it would reflect in the land, our children, and how we speak of the simplest of things. This year how, or will, or do we want to become human should be not the hot topic of the year, but the private consultation of the soul. If it becomes the hot topic of the year it becomes gossip in spirit. In the sanctuary of our privacy this quest becomes a force as change begins within. Inner change becomes power through practice, and changes the world through time, and in times to come. - Gregory E. Woods, (Dawn Wolf) Keeper of Stories 12.26.13
