Gregory E. Woods (r.) by Wesley Boyd at 20th Million Man March celebration in Washington DC (10.10.15) |
Gregory E. Woods is the first born son of Herbert & Constance B. Woods, the second grandchild of his maternal grandparents, a grandchild of the Muskogee and of the African, who stole his wife from a Virginia plantation owner and fought in the Civil War. His Native name is Dawn Wolf, and he is a Keeper of Stories and a Grandfather-Teacher from an old way of teaching. As a Facilitator, he has worked on the development of young people in the communities he has been asked to work in the important work of initiation. He has worked with gangs, broken men, helped to develop fathers, and worked over the years with specific men to become men. He has long worked building community here in the Washington DC metro area through ceremony, ritual, story, gatherings, the written word, music and family.
Most importantly he is married, has four children and six grandchildren and is the favorite uncle of a lot of nieces and nephews by insinuation and application of a sales technique. . .
