EYE on the Dark Hue.

in the spirit of the "Queen of the Damned" movie. Body paint by Black Night Nero. (2018).

Jonica Steward by Roland Dawson. The theme is #denimanddiamonds. (2018).

Model, Nadia by Roland Dawson
taken at Thomas Imagery studio in August 2018.

Unbelief in the strength of women is founded on a concept of an overextended version of male superiority that suffers under the glare of our women, who know better. In the context of Black American history the strength of concepts from matrilineal societies hold Black families intact. Today, all the factors that debilitated the new Africans in the Americas were challenged by the old, strong traditions from the Land of the Blacks!...

I make this point because the power of this image brings this to the forefront. The strength Black American women have needs to be respected, understood, deciphered and held against the wisdom depths of our Ancestors, who understood in depths we, as a People, have long forgotten! This photograph, Roland, has those powers. So much of your work toys with the loins, but on a deeper level the high intelligence of your work is invigorating because it has a basis in a connection with who you are, and where you come from in the Ancestral Realms. I know this is a lot to discern and discuss about photography, but Black Americans cannot help but evoke thoughts and reactions this profound. It is part of the genius we come from, and revisit!... - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8/28/18

Gorgeously Nelly in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania taken
by Roland Dawson. [Feb. 2018]

Roland Dawson, you have done quite the impressive introspective photo sessions centered around, and about Gorgeously Nelly. Quite the thoughtful and fun approaches you use.

Again, I love what you do and enjoy the stimulation of thoughts, and emotions in your views...

It is intriguing the trend, this century, of women hiding their eyes with color. Perhaps, it is a reaction to predatory ways of young cats not listening, but acting as if they listen. Eyes do not need to hide, if prospective boyfriends, or husbands know how to read and see. That is quite the combination: thinking and observation. The better part of fatherhood teaches what is understood as responsibility. "It is all in the eyes." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/03/18

Forbidden fruit by J. Alex.
"Simply put forbidden fruit is the knowledge and wisdom hidden from the uninformed, the crude uninitiated. What Adam did was take in what he was not prepared for and Eve is guilty of not knowing enough. She gave to her mate what he was unprepared for, and she unprepared to carry within her undeveloped womb. Women feed their men and children from the fruits developed within her soul. . ." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8/31/18

Is There This in Life: our Answers?

Naked Black woman. Deep beauty, overwhelming powers. This is a book cover for Chika Unigwe's book titled, "On Black Sister's Street"

"Is this lust? No, this is power, the power of beginnings. Every Black man needs to develop himself, to ready himself for the 'one'. That is just one story told here..." - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 6/10/17

photographer, Doug Ochoa took this photo of Abby Parece. There is a lot of trust between the two!

I don't know what inspired William T. Stoddard to write this after seeing the photographic work of Doug Ochoa, but it deserved a listen:

"Criticism often produced a feeling of isolation, a feeling of you and me, separated by a great divide. We learned many defense mechanisms at an early age, thinking that a good defense would be the best protection from further reproach.

We have continued this approach as adults. Whether it’s a confrontation with a stranger on the street or an argument with our partner in the bedroom, we believe that we need good excuses to explain ourselves and good logic to defend ourselves. We behave almost as though we were professional negotiators, our own little lawyers." [May 24, 2017]

Indian woman. Shampa by Rajib Chatterjee.

The complexity and depth to India's history and culture dwarfs Western life. Inside of every culture the women give the deepest insights into its contradictions and triumphs. To be honest I have always avoided visiting India, since my teenage years, out of respect for the intrigue I feel in front of the enormous energies the land and people have spun and created! Each time I see the women I feel their nuances the way heat is felt from the sun, and because of the complexity of their worldviews, and spirituality the women's unmistakable beauty pushes one towards divinity somehow.

It may sound like idolizing. I ain't. The study of culture is the analysis of self. There is more, but I am simply reacting to Rajib Chatterjee's photograph. It pulls so much out of the intellect and gives so much to the soul. The truth is it is the weight of the culture. Not every land is to be stepped upon in each lifetime.

- Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/06/18

Rajib Chatterjee  wrote: "Thanks Gregory E. Woods for your impromtue write up full of intellect. Its an honor to the culture of my country. I feel proud to be an Indian!"

"Is this respectful, or creative?" - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

Perfectly formed by way of the transatlantic journeys made over the last few centuries is the body of this Latina, of the red and black people who were overcomers. It is a powerful series of stories. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 6.20.16

Enormous presence, enormous gift within the right woman testifies to the truth of what matters she will work for, or against the grain and texture of a man's intent - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 12.12.16

It is outstanding the initial affect of this image. It  conveys a sense to the fashion that there is danger to not play with in a woman, who is not white. It feels strong this image. Is she playing with fire? Does she know those weapons and how to use them? Is she a martial artist? If so, it may explain her coolness, or demonstrate how the aloofness a warrioress can affect the psychology of weakness! - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 3/19/18

Created From Within

FIRST Woman, ascension. Who is the artist? Anyone know?

Reverence stirred the right direction reverses the process of supremacy in the story of the First Woman, for example, and how she was treated by white women over the centuries. When this happens it will be when the answer to the question: "When is enough, enough?" comes from the pain, the depth of women's angst. Even Black women interlocked into white women's dichotomies have to ask the question!

These things I have learned over time, and times passed. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 6/23/17

asana held by a powerfully built Black woman.

A man studies, or sees a woman from without while she, from within sees the man looking at her. It is a riddle, and a revelation at the same time the truth of the two natures needing each other to explore each other. This dynamic between the two primary energies isn't made through deviancy; it is through the veil. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories (June 23, 2017)

from within: the Sacred Triangle

Sacred Geometry - Cosmic Eye with Tube Torus

Sacredness is gently placed upon and within Stefania Ferrario the way impulse
aligns the heartbeat with release. Is this lust? - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 6.2.17

"Prayer in faith in the belief of reverence is learned, if one forgot the basis tenets of holy life, we are born into from our mother's wombs we are taught to devalue in Western countries." - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 6.2.17

Bald head, naked body of Katoucha speaks of,
and to strength. Is this lust?

An astonishing explosion of power from within comes from this woman, and many women of the darker hue, who have developed powers. It isn't lust. Her presence and composure doesn't even demand respect; it comes from that place and more that is incomprehensible to the crude amongst us. If a man cannot respect her clothed or not, the fault is in his character ill-informed and badly taught. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [6/2/17]
