REFLECTION

SELF-PORTRAITS

The camera immediately brought changes debuting in the 1800’s, and today the changes in perception are rolling on in our lives. Art has expanded its definition of self, place, and time each generation by the camera in numerous ways. Wrought with fatigue from the endless nights creating painstakingly with oils, or grease, or stone, or iron the human need, and capacity to create art has never abated; it has only changed forms of expression. When cameras became more affordable an industry within the photography industry changed postures, and taking pictures became less a formal gathering in prestigious, or seedy studios scattered throughout cities in states far and wide... © Gregory E.
