Perspective: FREEDOM Sought.

Motorcycle. Steed Babe circa. 2005
model this bike for Steed Musclebike Motorcycle Co.
has quite the drawing power!

"... Strength in the woman that has what draws men nigh unto her bosom is captivated by what is weak within the structure of men's illusions. The machines enhancing, or representative of male force add and create power to the image of the Western male. Strength and power are not from image, but structures based in the revolving and circulatory forces of Nature from Creation in the present..."

Independence by Fusion Photo. 2015.

This photo, and the intelligent way it was crafted takes me back to American history 101:

"... Property and substance, in European history as we Indians and Africans learned, were separate, and ne'er were the two to merge into white women's concepts of self, or fuel their esteem. It was hundreds of years before simple declarations like: 'Property of NO ONE' were embedded into their daughters. The dangers are current. The fears earlier white women felt are current. They have gone nowhere. They hid, and now the push for liberation, and freedom of expression..." -Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 12/20/18

TALE of many.

Fashion shoot by Kenneth Lysgaard of the Danish model, Karoline. [2017]

The dare European women had to cultivate over the centuries to survive in their own cultures was against the most horrific conditions set against them. It was a terror without end, powerful enough an angst to shift the way terror became a tool. White men's contempt for women always finds a way to make its presence known and dominant. Does it show itself in photoshoots, on the big screen, in bed, politics; in war? It does. How this corresponds with the simple appreciation of a woman's glory, the boldness of strength a woman embodies is not mysterious. It is engaging. Power and beauty, understanding the past to better appreciate the presence, and gauging the depth of a woman is what a son has to do in his lifetime. It is owed to the present and to the future to be a better woman. Sons need this to operate in their lives of men. When an artist like photographer, Kenneth Lysgaard, sets out to take a picture and stirs the intellect of others says something to the creative power of vision... ~ Gregory E. SEEING ABOVE

Aggressive woman at the ready! Leaping from one extreme to another, white women have gone out of the way to be measured by men as equals to the exclusion of their essence. This radical change is perceived as progress. Unable to find medium places to balance from the perspective of being women, white women became combative and allowed themselves to be redefined by men, medically, physically, psychologically and spiritually. Now, the spiritual part is the crucial part, the difficult part because their culture used God as a commodity. He was interchangeable. This rendered relationship with God impossible, at best, because the dispute was whether he passed the litmus test of their intellects! Just like their men, they feel the center of the world, existence revolves around them.

How, other women dealt with this paradigm is the source of their angst. During birth this is passed down to their children. This is how we know these things in our bones.

Abby Parece, a former Playboy model, advised: "Don't be an eye candy, be soul fool!
She is asking for the heart of an idea to be opened!" - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

In the context of viewing beautiful women it is natural for some men to relax into introspection, for others it just seems to be an opportunity to say something corny they believe might impress a woman out of giving them sex. But, looking into women's eyes it is hard for a mystic to not see the divine within a woman because the memories of being cared for in their mother's womb are not the exotic garden, but the making of a soul, and the exchange between souls (mother and son) as holy communion. That holiness is a mirror one cannot afford to dismiss when girl watching.

One cat, Willie T. Stoddard pointed out while looking closely at Playboy model, Abby Parece: "In Mahayana Buddhism, this idea was extended to assert that Buddhas exist in a purified sphere of realization that reflects their blissful, enlightened perception of reality. Free of all ignorance, aggression, and attachment, this environment is called a pure land or Buddha-realm."

This high thinking escapes crude men and ruthless women, who attract these type of cats. The small reserve of men pondering these landscapes easily see where these musings come from and the links between sexual appeal and high spirituality are simply too obvious. The young cats reading this should be excited with the opening of their consciousness, and take a moment to engage the words of gratitude with their new awakening. Young men need the older cats who know these things to guide their thoughts and actions towards pure states of being to clarify the purpose for living.

Yesterday, after a sweat lodge ceremony talking with a mother of three daughters about the sacredness of being a woman, and a mother the long subject came up about her being ready as a Sacred Mother to have a son, one day and a husband to pair with on a Sacred Path, in ways that would outshine 'mere expectations'. It led to hard talk about absent fathers, and what they feel in their souls separated from their children for whatever reasons for long time periods, that often lead to never. Hearing the man's side told is one thing and hearing women react to what men won't share with women is hard because the missing components of the coming together father and child need, and the communities need are: initiation, a re-established Elder practices, and reconnection with the Ancestors, on a daily basis.

Women need hope that a man is being prepared to serve high purposes in life. Men need to be prepared for such tasks in the union of marriage; not marriage American style, but the style sacredness requires of Sacred Souls.

D for Danger K for Knowing

Danger lurks in all the places within us vulnerable to relinquish control to what will return no good to us. Freedom moves around in the places where conception is.

Bern Nadette Stanis recreated in her time in the spotlight the assessments of young Black womanhood. It was important but in retrospect, out of focus with today's young Black women resisting the attributes traditionally held by girls who became women hoping to learn to be ladies. REFLECTION

SELF-PORTRAITS

The camera immediately brought changes debuting in the 1800’s, and today the changes in perception are rolling on in our lives. Art has expanded its definition of self, place, and time each generation by the camera in numerous ways. Wrought with fatigue from the endless nights creating painstakingly with oils, or grease, or stone, or iron the human need, and capacity to create art has never abated; it has only changed forms of expression. When cameras became more affordable an industry within the photography industry changed postures, and taking pictures became less a formal gathering in prestigious, or seedy studios scattered throughout cities in states far and wide... © Gregory E. The EAGLE Flies...

Eagle
November 14, 2012

Assumptions are made about beautiful women based on fantasy, envy, and hope for a good lay. Millions of women and men from African-Latin cultures, like Africans from the homeland, hold true to their indigenous roots in spiritual realms. This woman, Laura Soares, is popular in her country, and as a personality and a beauty the depth of her comes unbidden to the surface in an admission.

Last November she slipped into her online portfolio a picture of an eagle swooping down upon the face of water on the hunt. As a caption she said, "Celebrating the Eagle, seeking deeper connection with my animal spirit." She added three words to that for reasons you can intuit: Spirit, Healing, Creation. ~ Gregory E. IRANIAN DEATH SONG

Iranian Women Shed Headscarves in #MystealthyFreedom Online Protest

Iranian Reyhaneh Jabbari is 967th person to be executed since Hassan Rouhani became Iran's president in August last year 2013

Iranian women are posting pictures of themselves online without headscarves and racking up thousands of Facebook likes in the process, the latest challenge to Tehran's strict morality laws mandating that women keep their hair covered in public.
A Facebook page called "Stealthy Freedoms of Iranian women" showing hundreds of women without the hijab -- a veil that covers a person's head -- has garnered more 142,000 likes. Women have used the hashtag #mystealthyfreedom to post pictures of themselves without headscarves riding bikes, dancing, or even sitting in flower beds, flouting rules that have been in force since the 1979 Revolution.
The page was started by journalist Masih Alinejad, who explained her reasoning in a May 3 post:
"This page is not only for women who are against the hijab, this is also for religious women who wear the hijab but don’t believe it should be enforced on people and think it should be a choice. So you if you are a religious woman who wears a headscarf but doesn't think it should be enforced, please send in a picture of your friend, family member or daughter not wearing a hijab."
Since the revolution, there have been crackdowns on women who protest laws that forbid them to reveal anything more than their face, feet and hands almost every summer.
And while President Hassan Rouhani has been quoted as saying that he does not believe men and women should be punished for flouting the dress code, it is not clear whether the country's morality police will take the same view.
It is also unclear what sort of reach the #mystealthyfreedom campaign has in Iran, where residents have to find ways around government Internet filters that block out Facebook, Twitter and many foreign news outlets.

the CIVIL RIGHTS ERA

Excel!

Give thanks for the creativity of being alive and ones' self... – Gregory E. Woods

free up!
"I was called an Oreo as a teenager because I read up on, studied, and evaluated the facets of the Civil Rights movement. During those times it was unpopular to be an international traveler, or interested and invested in international affairs. Being bi-lingual, and connecting with one's NDN, or white bloodlines was spit upon. Having a facility to socialize with white folks was shunned, and was often enough of a reason to shuttle many a 'Black' into social isolation.  These contradictions are worth a look into primarily to gain insight into the thinking Black American!" - Gregory E. Painted BLACK

Courtney Paige Photography

Courtney Paige worked with photographer, Ryan Cooper, make up artist Ashley Rose,
and actress Jordana Largy on this conceptual piece they titled:  PAINTED BLACK

I had to check and register with myself at the title next to the woman in what I initially thought was deep dark shadow. My next looks at the subject suggested what wasn't obvious and then a quick read and I saw the briefest snippet of your concept. It is a dare to go forth with this concept of darkening a white woman's body to sell an idea, or a product, but in the name of art, or a dream is that OK? If it is will the artists be safe publicly?

I think the challenge should fall upon the viewer to ride through the gamut of emotions, objections, feelings of awe at the sheer beauty of something intangible caught on camera, and wrestle with the facts of and the memories of the 'black face' traditions of vaudeville 100 years ago. Perhaps this photographic journey should be drawn out in the context of history, and the evolution, or stagnation of cultural paradigms and hard held feelings about race, supremacy, and freedom of expression.

It is very different and difficult for artists, healers, and dreamers and musicians to live the way we do. Finding the medium and the sacred space to share the things we've dared explore and tackle and come to grips with is hard, or easy enough. It depends upon who is the listening, or viewing audience. The general population are masses of people caught within the mundane who have yet to peer into the worlds their lives come from. The explorations of a healer, for example, would terrify the average person he/she comes to help. It is not a judgement. It just is this way. We all have our roles and gifts. It is just that in the acceptance of roles the magical people dare to challenge what their perspective audiences fear to look deeply into.

Artists, and creative people, by the nature and force of their insights and direct access to the Dream Time, walk a thin line with our dependence upon making our money through our arts, or regular jobs. The general population surrounding us judges us more than they judge themselves. This leaves the proverbial 'them' with no choices, it seems, beyond being quick to react and slow to reflect and think deeply as each challenge demands of them.

I wish you'd fleshed out this idea of yours, and let others either catch up with you, if you are coming from an enlightened place, or learn from the backlash. Either way it would have been in service to the world-at-large.

These are my words.

Black Women in BLACK

Like Black Women Love
Wait.
I'm gonna love you
like black women love their children.
Gonna dig way down,
call upon the history
my fore-sisters built,
fill you up with wonderful,
nurse your self esteem
in the arch of my back.
When you are low,
I'll refresh your spirit
with tales drawn from the well
of my momma's childhood memories.

Wait.
I'm gonna love you like black women
love their men. Thick-lipped words
of encouragement will breathe icy cold
on heated epitaphs of venom-laced hatred.
My over-stuffed hips cache a reservoir
of strength. Like grandma's
hands I'll knead your worn-out pride
with kindred understanding.
I'm gonna love you like the whores
of masters loved the light of day.
Wait.
I'm gonna love you
like black women love themselves:
without reservation; strong.

SOFISTICATION

"Contemplation is a good place to be at any age, at any stage of one's life. It is the useful step before any endeavor, any climb, or ascent to greatness, the next level, the understanding of self, and achievement. " - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

Victoria's Secret models

Candice Swanepoel, you remind me of this: "The dynamics of Being work themselves one way, appear another, and relate to others another way. In the composition of our stance we believe we are showing ourselves to the world in our truths. We cannot help it because before eyes is what is within us, what we see as the world. Our perception of the world is the world. What others see within us is in our posture, our stance of power or weakness, scarcity, want, abundance, brilliance, or anger and distance. Our bodies tell so many stories it is easy to conclude we are large, and at times contradict ourselves."  Alowan Chanteh Inyan Wichasha 2.8.13

SEDUCTION in the hands of a Mistress

para mis noches de soledad.
Metal

A Heavy Metal chick in boots & garter asked of me, "Para mis noches de soledad?"

I blinked into the question stupidly.
"What about my nights of solitude? What kind of a question is that to ask of me?" I blurted out in defense against the obvious appeal of such an offer.

She turned around from the camera and looked dead into my eyes. "What about my nights?" I couldn't answer that with a straight face. There was too much implied and too much she knew about herself I knew nothing about. Chicks like her saw too much, and used to 'kick ass' men they didn't like or know what to do with some philosophical dude. But in her case they turned her on.  She felt something deep within her broiling with the anticipation of something deeper and beyond her world that would 'fuck with her head', she was fond of saying when she got drunk or high.

Someone passed her a lit Ashton cigar. "That's expensive," I said to her. "It is but I earned it and like to suck on something worthwhile." She squinted into the cloud of smoke slowly rising in front of her face, and for a moment suggestively probed my face for a reaction with a critical eye that followed the length of my thoughts arising from the stimulation in the room she controlled.

ART - Forest of Desire

Art by by Eliotsporesanime.

FOREST OF DESIRE

“In her day and time did the powerful truths she embodied and held secret within her create disease in her body? The dark of the night was it safer than the light of day in a time power perceived within her could have cost her a life, a name, a child? How much comfort did the forest give her? Were dark mysteries dark because of the way they played with light creating inviting shadows by perception or menacing by choice of word and belief? What did it cost to be engaged to the Mysteries; the mysteriousness of her menstrual cycle, her birth canal, and the middle passage her man, or lovers entered and left deposits of who they were within her?

I may never know as a man, but as a son and a husband peering into the vulnerabilities of my Mother and Wife may have given me access to their mysterious selves, and answers asking may or may not give.” - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

the intrigue of LEGS

"The divinity of the feminine is often masked in public,  not as a practice of spirituality, but for the sake of surviving the day. Under development peers at divinity in any of its forms disrobing, with lust, what is before them precious and ready to give. It is dangerous to be a sacred being. Why? The why of it rests in the nature of the underdeveloped mind, and spirit and the undisciplined bodies of people, which are often on the verge of destroying something, or someone they don't understand. That kind of fear drove the Christ to the cross, and into exile the great minds of their time. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 3.1.13
