Root of an Evil

Naked woman in a body of water by Dino PhSette Istantifotografici‎

A RIDDLE:

The placement of a woman naked in a body of water is a story. These are two things despised in European thought and tradition: a woman and a body of water. The consequences of this historical fact is crushing the life out of existence. Unrepentant, humanity moans in pain we all feel. We people of color have no idea how to break through their resistance to begin the process of reconciliation at this level, for so complicated a history!. . . - Gregory E. A PUZZLE to the mind is the feeling, in American belief, in conflict with the belief in the insignificance of the child. It goes deep into European history, thought and belief... - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8/6/18

Grieve in Water

IS LUMBEE LOVE DEAD?

When she is sick and dying, who last shall, vigil keep beside her lonely, lovely waters if not we, those indigenous to the waters of the ole Lumbee fail to protect her in the present? Will we stand up and safeguard her beauty as only we see it or do we discard her as a mere swamp, remiss of our duties owed to her bounty?

by jojo brooks shifflet, Lumbee nation

The grief in water doesn't leave us, not in this culture we live living, as if we are distant from cause and effect. The average person does not pay attention, or heed the warnings of scientists, or the obvious evidence on a walk along a stream in a forest, or a park's pool. Women are not respected at the significant levels their creation orders the world's original structures. American, or more specifically, European historic practices have not respected this state of being. This continued practice embedded in thought life and practice does not care for water in a sacred way.

Protesting companies fouling up our waters is different from care for water as a sacred responsibility with prayers, the words and songs of power delivered from the womb daily! This passes as social responsibility, but the custom of separating Life into parts indifferent from each other cannot see the whole when profit is the gauge measuring 'progress'. Measuring is destined to devalue one to gain the other, so water like Earth are in danger of irreversible poisoning. A population dismissive of sacred things, and sacred responsibilities is incapable of exercising compromise, or changing self to save a planet, or grasp how the elements live within our "who we are"!

In layman's terms, we are in a 'clusterfuck'! In respectable verbiage we are in a pickle! In reality, we are killing our grandchildren to feed our children! This is the spirit of a mentality resistant to change, reform and being human.

Help my Unbelief.

There was a time in my life I searched for a wife intelligently. During this period I met Jehovah Witness women spreading their doctrine in tiny little group huddles, and occasionally a Catholic nun, or two who would peak my attention! I have stories about the one's from each camp who aroused me causing me to put in work to persuade the one I'd singled out to be my mate! To another person, it is a credulous request bordering on sacrilegious. To me, it was an untapped approach, a venture worth taking, a hunt prepared for over the preceding years stalking solitude.

In the end, I wanted to do things the old way. I asked my Grandfather Teacher to find me a wife.

Nun's unbridled passions are secrets. Well, that is what a lot of us men tell ourselves. I only had one real possibility of breaking through the shell of a Nun to find the shell hiding her core that needed the balance of a husband. If it weren't for the senior woman present in that small group of Nuns, I would have courted her, and possibly been her husband. That was a long time ago. I fared better waiting for Jan. - Gregory E. Teach in Life.

Who said those words? It is important to know. People's stories are important and to those needy the most, and those close to the person who reveals him or herself by word, and work; is a need to observe the trail that led to revelation!

For those curious: what led a person to discover within themselves this sense of self, and place in the worlds surrounding themselves:

"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be!"

We may never know. What we will know is when we arrive at this state of being present within the great mysteries of this life!

it was the night before one Christmas.

Santa was like other men. He had a wife. He was sedated by the comforts his life afforded him and he was focused enough for many decades to not be distracted by any of the women waiting for him to show up at their houses on Christmas Eve. Some women wore nothing. Others had been priming themselves for his quick visit with their vibrators they'd fallen asleep with, and missed his coming and going. Others laid traps for him hoping to screw his brains out, but were unsuccessful.

Mrs. Claus, like other wives, knew a lot about her husband she didn't tell him. She feed him a lot of food and let him sit a lot when he was not working. So, for months into years he slowly got fat and unable to have comfortable sex without her. Quickies are fast and quick; sex, in and out and gone! But his waistline required work, and positioning and with the tight schedules he had around Christmas time he gave up the idea of getting some side pussy, and focused on his work.

But, one day it was cold, and bitterly so. There was a strong wind storm that had it been summer would have been called a tornedo. The house he was placing gifts under the tree for was quiet. Not even a mouse stirred. There was a minty scent in the air with a fragrance of some sort of combination of coffee and toast. He knew there were children somewhere sleeping upstairs, and the kitchen was dark. But, when he was finished he glanced at the windows and couldn't see outside. He looked up the chimney and the moonlight couldn't be seen. There were blankets of snow covering everything and the wind was harsh. He wondered aloud how his animals were doing. But, this was their weather. They'd be OK. So he looked around the room and sat in a comfortable red chair and began thumbing through a magazine or two. Settled into the environment he dozed off.

"Wake up!"

He felt the call more than anything else. It seemed to reach down into his loins. He tried to jump up when his eyes popped open, but the small woman straddling him had strength in her thighs, compulsion between her legs, and her center of gravity was focused. He couldn't get up at all. He tried once, or twice, but desire for her weakened him as he studied her body barely concealed beneath sheer white cloth. Dark pubic hair, a tantalizing fragrance from that hair, and a tingling sensation he couldn't distinguish from her desire or his arousal. Tantalizing and unbelievably gorgeous to the eye, inconceivable to the imagination, and glorious on her way to his spirit she was a presentation of what was comfortable to settle into, and be comforted by.

Theodore.

A tale for anyone...because you were beautifully made.

Once there was an elf named Theodore, who was the subject of much laughter. For he had big ears and buck teeth. He would spend his days wandering the path between the green wood and the golden meadow. Feeling lonely and ashamed of his appearance one day, he happened upon a very old and gnarly tree. As he approached the aged tree he suddenly heard voices and one by one little white mice popped out from under the roots of this great tree. These mice were very different from the town folk who used to call Theodore names, for they were friendly and very fond of Theo's ears. From that day on, Theodore would visit his new found friends and would become their provider.

We all have a place and a purpose on this Earth. We were all specially and beautifully made, always stay true to who you are.

TIMES together...

Marilyn Monroe reading James Joyce's Ulysses!!!!

Marilyn Monroe reading in her office at home. We loved that space, that privacy. Spending time there together made it special and private. Privacy had become a commodity as much as time alone was a necessity. Good days. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 7/25/17
