Holy to some, the Cross would be offended by the association, but others thinking from another range of views about the victimization of the Cross, as executioner, and the slayer of the feminine energy, in God's name feel great fears! Crossed Purposes

It is always troubling the way white Americans rage against their women who tell the truth about white American historical contradictions. Jane Fonda gave a performance during the Vietnam conflict with American imperialism. She stepped out of her place in society and found her voice. The voice of white women then, as it is now, was never given respect due. President Bush made it clear during the invasion of Iraq pointing out, in no uncertain terms, the government was not going to pause to consider the word of a grieving mother, and Trump kept it crude; where he belongs, and maintained dominion over, and his contempt for women, and their pussy. It is said with aplomb.

Nowhere since the Vietnam War has a white man complaining about Jane Fonda's moral stance against that war addressed the immorality of that war! They are angered and offended that she spoke, and spoke from shared historical truths that easily are applicable to the Indian Wars, the mass killings of Blacks in the United States by whites from the government sanctioned massacre of Blacks in 1866 forward. She could have gone on to scores and scores of incidents, and around the world with story after story, but she placed full attention on what was current: the Vietnam War. Her biggest sin was being a woman. What kept her from getting killed was simple: she is and was a white woman!

It took a lot of courage for Jane Fonda to speak. White women live with the internal knowledge of the killing spirit of their men, and how recent the Inquisition Period is from now!

Now, the same venom is simmering across the country as white women, en masse, are speaking as a collective on a taboo subject in this culture: sexual harassment, and the entitlement of white men over white pussy. It is too hard to string thousands of women on a cross like they did and do to Jane Fonda! In this instance, Jesus does not save.

Help my Unbelief.

There was a time in my life I searched for a wife intelligently. During this period I met Jehovah Witness women spreading their doctrine in tiny little group huddles, and occasionally a Catholic nun, or two who would peak my attention! I have stories about the one's from each camp who aroused me causing me to put in work to persuade the one I'd singled out to be my mate! To another person, it is a credulous request bordering on sacrilegious. To me, it was an untapped approach, a venture worth taking, a hunt prepared for over the preceding years stalking solitude.

In the end, I wanted to do things the old way. I asked my Grandfather Teacher to find me a wife.

I only had one real possibility of breaking through the shell of a Nun to find the shell hiding her core that needed the balance of a husband. ELDER TALK: Jesus, Belief and Practice

Many have stood at this crossroad with these questions relying less on scholarship, and the probes into the mystical teachings of this walk, and more on other's thoughts on the subjects you raised.

Your first question: "Baptism. Does it mean the Holy Spirit comes into a person automatically?" Your second question suffers with the first question in a tangle of dogma from various sects in Protestantism: "I thought confessing Jesus, as one's Lord and Savior, meant one was born again?" The last question you ask has the embracing fragrance of innocence and honesty. "So how can you get baptized and not get the gift of the Spirit, that I flat out don't get because the Holy Ghost is a gift after all your sins have been washed away through the blood. I thought a gift is just what it is: a gift!"  

My first inclination is to suggest you begin your study, in the Bible, accepting that it is a long process delving into this subject matter. Because the question is fundamental to Christianity. The answers should be more than passable understanding of its progenitor religion, and that worldview needs to be learned to have depth as a follower of these teachings! It is important to have depth with substance, and breaking the tradition of glib answers to profound questions follow Paul's admonishment to "Study to show yourself approved..." and follow suit with your own spiritual practice!  

In easier language, there is a nest from which the answers to your questions flew away from! From animal sacrifices to the quest in the first century Church to rid itself of the vestiges of its Hebrew roots, to the horrible centuries of blood conquest/missionary work, to the 20th century revivals until now; the answers to your questions have been altered by histories of actions, politics, and the business of slave trade maintenance. So, your answers are easily assessable in the Bible, but do you really want to explore the fundamentals of your religious belief, or do you simply want to be sure of your salvation?  

To honor the questions, I am obligated to honor the teaching style of the Rabbi Jesus, who was initiated into his role, into manhood. He comes from not what passes today as a way into the kingdom of God, but from a tradition steeped in probes into the Unknown, with the tradition of study and introspection of their holy books and rituals interlinked with the development of the abstract and the intellect simultaneously!  - Gregory E. It is interesting how a Cross worn by a woman, in this instance a vixen, determines something innate within not the nervous system, but the vibrancy of truth bared by the witness of the soul! It is a vast mechanism communication. Symbols speak to the 'unvoice'. What that is, is mixed by the thought process swirling around desire, want and taste.

Compromise to Live

As I look closely at this photograph thoughts come to me.
Most of the compromise was made by the Native people in our relationships with the whites. Evidence, this is, in the short narrative above. Two accomplishments Chief Big Foot made important to whites of the time were the warrior planting corn and converting in any form to Christianity. Were these strikes against a culture? Yes and no they were not. They were strategies that kept The People alive and relevant as much as history, the times and the will to live as the People allowed us to live. To say the white man kept us alive is not true. Our negotiation and our capacity for war and intelligent intercourse kept us alive. . . - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4.6.16
