CHARACTER of SUBSTANCE

Many good mornings, for me, include an hour with Kathy Lee Gifford. Today, the words of wisdom read were from Brené Brown. "Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection." read by her co-host Hoda Koth.

The two of them spend a short span of time embracing the words of wisdom from their quiet within. Hoda started off saying, "You know when people get hard hearted, and they can't figure out why they can't find something!" Then she cut off from that trail of thought, and said of Kathy Lee Gifford: "I think one of your best traits is there is always a layer of vulnerability; no matter it is..."

Kathy Lee responded: "It's hard to hold on to that through the years, you know, Life has a way of kicking the you know what out of you. But, I think it is important that you develop a tough skin, a really tough skin about the things that don't matter and then keep a tender heart about the things that do."

"You know what kills me now?" she continued. "It's kindness. It used to be cruelty. We've gotten so used to cruelty that I just turn it off, and don't even go there!..."

What she means is that she turns off the television, and she is a television talk show host!

Recognizing the toxicity of the medium her advice and her observations have merit because of her substance. What is within character is the fact within fiction surrounding us, and what else is within character is the substance of the core of ones humanity. ~ Gregory E. Pity, self-pity is the worse place to be. It is the supportive element of suicide. The warrior teachings of your ancestors, the memories in the land of your ancestors have the stories, the teachings and  the strength of water and Earth, our Mother are the places to sit within.

SEEN in the interior of the Soul. . .

The outstanding is astounding! In women seeing themselves in the admiration from men is a value system. In fact, memories stirred by looks means something adheres to what people value: worth. Are beautiful women observed, or their beauty perceived? Do beautiful women believe in the ideal from those who admire them, or lie about how important it is to be admired for beauty? Are we wrong needing Beauty, or women needing to be seen as beautiful?

Simple questions, but at the beginning of puberty the question is raised by the consciousness of general society. It is our parents our validation should come from, or at least, the form of family once held that status. Now, with Instagram baby sitting children, and informing them value has become a vague sense of being accepted by strangers, by people a child will never see face to face. Ifa in Black Americans

[The] Hip Black woman on a city street attired for the fall in the hippest of ways in the early 21st century will be remembered for something else inaccessible to white women and what they bring to the times. Africanism develops the spirit of the intellect. This is the furthest construct from the consciousness of white Americans. This expansive way of seeing, of looking within one's self is at the core of the spiritual traditions of West Africa, where the majority of slaves were stolen from to work for lazy whites. This way of being is systematically being driven out of Black American children in the schools by Black American's thirst to be accepted by white people.

Child of GOD! 

Kathie Lee-Gifford's talk show on NBC I watch most mornings on purpose for several reasons: one being her elegance and well crafted sensuality. It is a hard thing for many I know, and have known to grasp my assessment of her as a type of compelling beauty I regard highly. But, that is not the purpose of this moment to digest about Kathie Lee-Gifford. It is what she knows, and how she shares 'knowing'. 

It is about her integrity, the way she holds on to it, and how she is a Christian on the national stage. Her co-host Hoda Kotb is on assignment at the Winter Olympics, and in her stead one of former president Bush's daughters, Jenna Bush Hager, is doing a fine job in that role. They share like good friends different from the way Hoda and Kathie Lee, because those are unique relationships. 

Today's co-host, Jenna, held in high regard the insights Kathie shared on a documentary series: I Am Second. Taking the proverbial baton Kathie took the compliment from Bush's daughter about passing on Mrs. Gifford's insights to her own daughters!

Understand the reason for affirmations... people affirm negative thoughts all day every day with out even thinking about it.. and then wonder why they stay broke, sick, in bad relationships, worrying, stagnant.. this is happening because of the thoughts you are constantly affirming as you worry.. affirmations are done as a practice to replace those negative thoughts with positive thoughts in order to change the outcome you are constantly getting that you don't want.
