RED Background, WHITE History.

photographer Aaron Kurkela of Jasmin.

Somehow, for some reason the red takes the attention from the model and her expression takes my eye from her form. But, it is her form that shapes the eye's direction towards the form a second time. It is probably my reaction, but it reminds me of the 'Mod' era during the 1960's, as white women were learning about themselves, developing the confidence they have now!

It was another time, but directly linked to now, to present day because the quest for white American women was a life and death one. . . - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 11/14/18

"The special sense of being important is in the essence of becoming a better man as a father, and more than ordinary becoming a mother for a woman. Translating from one sense of being is growth; growth is the substance that launched us into the realm of existence. It was Will, Intent, Purpose, and Substances that congregated to become..." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 11/14/18

TO Remember!

"Only when we embrace ourselves is when we will truly love who we are." Typical of the culture online is the lack of courtesy. There is not mention of the author of this observation. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

A Riddle to Existence

"Men dream high, and live with what, or who they need. In terms of marriage or women pursued the women men settle for, or need are not the ones they fantasize about (dreams are too far from truth), but the ones who choose them."

Mere, Mama, Mothers

Rosa Brighid composed and still in a simple setting.
Opulence and how it feels is the temperament of the person.

Simplicity in this simple setting
captured by Rudy Wahju II's eye.

We cannot always breath again after our breath has been swept out of us by surprise, delight or wonder at the sheer beauty of the subject of some women's essence, we sometimes glimpse. Capturing such a thing on film is the work of art, genius, and care to touch the soul... - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/06/18

In general: The qualities that interrupt our breathing patterns involuntarily are esoteric. What esoteric is belongs to what we perceive by touch, and by touch disseminate with logic and reason. It sad we feel we have to do that to place ourselves above what is beyond touch, and mere belief. It is best to enjoy the unfathomable, absorb its worth feeling its essence. That is how children understand and learn language, and language, itself is Beauty we care to understand by unction, insinuation and yes, touch again, and again, and again....

There is more, but too much without the contact with what balances the Unknown is mere weight. Ain't that something?

In short, I love how you, Alexander Faris, captured the woman's logical connection to the essence of what matters to the subject: "What is beauty, what is kind, what is being perceived?" - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/06/18

2 Stories Interlocked!

Brigitte Bardot having fun!

Brigitte Bardot was once innocent, had innocence and played with it with ease until the world of men, predatory men, took that from her. It is an old story her old age repeated. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 4/12/18

Fred Astaire, 1935.
"The African informed, taught his act and he became famous being white interpreting African dance to a less sophisticated appreciation of African genius!" - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4/12/18

Fred Astaire. Looking at the man through the lens of how entertainment failed and divided the races (Black and white) with the ingratitude of white entertainers learning, as best they could, how to dance the popular African dances of the time is a tell. . . White people are indeed lacking in gratitude, they also prefer to not acknowledge the debt of African genius. It doesn't agree with the intelligence of their assumptions of superiority, arrogance.

Far beyond in terms of years, the current fad of playing around with words and concepts like diversity, getting along, tolerance and other trite movements white people distant themselves from self-analysis and we, the rest of us, have to grapple without the presence of the designers of the racial construct we live within, to get along with white people! That's some shit! But, that is the way the misconception: racial reconciliation conducts itself!

This is hard to understand with a Twitter frame of reference and developmental substance. There are those who would prefer I'd simplify complex subjects, but I am a mature man who has steeped himself in study and analysis of this culture since my teenage years. Why would I try to fit all of this into 140 characters like the President Trump currently does most days!

It is this division of intelligence wrestling this global power into ineffectiveness. In time, in ways I don't need to see from this vantage point because of my age is a grown up way of dealing with a child. Let the child stumble. In this sector of human history the risk is the loss of power, and Americans without the powers they are accustomed to will falter in terror, no longer being the most powerful nation in the world!

That is quite a story Fred Astaire started. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4/12/18

being still.

What is waited for in African women is their older years. That blossom is a profound experience to live through, I imagine. I know the feel and the actual power of this energy, as a man. It Transforms.... - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [7/23/18]

Walking In Beauty (Blessing)

Today I will walk out, today everything unnecessary will leave me, ...
I will be as I was before, I will have a cool breeze over my body.
I will have a light body, I will be happy forever,
nothing will hinder me.
I walk with beauty before me. I walk with beauty behind me.
I walk with beauty below me. I walk with beauty above me.
I walk with beauty around me. My words will be beautiful.

In beauty all day long may I walk.
Through the returning seasons, may I walk.
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk.
With dew about my feet, may I walk.

With beauty before me may I walk.
With beauty behind me may I walk.
With beauty below me may I walk.
With beauty above me may I walk.
With beauty all around me may I walk.

In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk.
My words will be beautiful.

Blessings over your Life!

2 spirits 1 woman.

Every moment and every step is precious. Wisdom opens up new thoughts to you as you step further down the road that is Red. Quiet your mind find peace in the solitude of the CIRCLE, which is SACRED! Be one with Creation, so you can be whole as one in the formula of life. Sacred are the teachings, and sacred are the hearts that teach you to value all that is around you. They are the witness to your light that shines in you daily, to hold the scepter that contain the scrolls of knowledge that reveal themselves to you on a level not understood by man. Preform the feats of understanding that will take you and others higher than they have ever been before. There are no other ways to see this vision if you are not ready with the product of self!

Pollution begins in the mind, which is the barrier of reasoning what makes you hard and rigid to the concept of gathering an understanding what is soft, pliable to the comfort of the road that is chosen. Learn to watch the teachers of the field, the lords that go unnoticed cause they are all humbled; they show their power in their humility, and they would never brag, or boast of their feats to none cause their venture shows in the strides of their good ethics on how to respect what is truly not theirs alone.

Show yourself that you too must learn and to be in this class of learning there will always be a block for you to stumble on for you to look down to show your pride and ego that they must sit down and watch how the humble cross the bridge where the rapids of water are in rage and want to devour the soul of those two to hold on; is to remember what was given to you with love and earnest; to put the prayer on smoke means you have learned your place and you know that reality is a place much more real than this. And to hold what is dear too you close cause that is the reason why we touch our hearts when we touch our MOTHER EARTH.

So to all who walk this road, my heart is out for you. May my prayers on smoke cover you and give you the wise breath of the founder of Life....cause

These are my thoughts..... Walk in beauty..... AHO!

Cloud Spencer Eaglebear (March 13, 2017)

Dear Brother, Cloud Eaglebear, thank you for these wonderful helpful words of wisdom, as Spirit would have them coming to life and heart of realization in the perfect timing of why we all in the circle must keep a higher step for the greatest good of all. So our song in the winds is a pure one and our gifts and offerings of love for others in the circle of sacred life are truly given in the closeness of spirit they are intended to be...

I am humbled to be included in the circle. Thank you for ever being near. Spirit guides all happenings in divine perfection. Also, beautiful photo of woman warrioress in harmony and balance with life. Much love and respect to you good brother.. Blessings on your day. A'ho! - Carol Windsong  (May 17, 2017)

Food Scientists.

Maat Petrova shopping for food. . . 2017.

Peace. Peaceful mindsets reign above the science of food. It is unusual to be aligned with the foods today. The practice of measuring has overtaken the sanctity of preparing food, removing the sacredness of eating has created disorders. Shifting into this paradigm has no beneficial relationship with power. Power is its own incentive to change, become, and be still within one's soul. Applied to food the better our dreams grow, the better we understand where we are as a People, as a family member.

It is summer time as things grow and the beginning of Harvest is the celebration ceremony. Without ceremony food is just there to eat. Ceremony and gratitude brings in the fullness of healthy minds, empowered spirits and right relations with our Mother, the Earth, each other and the animals who feed us, and the plants who know us, and what we need! ~ Gregory E. Black Woman, a theme.

A strong and gentle way of being a Black woman. photography by Roland Dawson

Wish I could tell the story. This woman embodies the elusive and powerful pull typical of Black American women, common in African women and not within other women, who have their own persuasions of being otherworldly and within types of beauty to be enjoyed and explored! This story of alternative versions of being a Black woman ventures towards an art form made more intriguing in a way that sits you down to listen.

The other photographs of this woman, Roland Dawson have the same story, but different chapters and shapes to empower in very subtle ways.

One thing I am trying to say is that the model here has a strong and gentle way of being a Black woman!

Father dreaming...

Father, the protective force . . .

When I see our children dancing something inside of me moves, as I remember how blessed we are today because at one point it was forbidden to dance or make ceremonies in public. We dance and pray to bring the people together and to uplift our spirits and honor those who walked before us in the dream of the living, we will dance forever on this land we call our mother. It's in our blood. - Gianni Crow (April 9, 2017)

Boy dancing for the People.

"When I was a kid my grandfather asked me this; if you can be anybody today who would you be? A superhero I replayed. He smiled and said, let your superpower always be kindness than." ~ Gianni Crow

Cooking on old stone

When I was a child I use to wake up to the smell of coffee my grandmother use to make in the adobe kitchen, she was seating by the fire cooking corn tortillas...the fire would dance under the pan made of clay, the wood would crackled as she would sing her songs. She use to tell me: "grandson foods are the medicine for our bodies so it should always be treated with respect for all things are sacred." -Gianni Crow
