Sister and Brothers...

Cynthia, my little sister, at Vania's bridal shower.

A sister with her brothers! It speaks to the soul of brotherhood in the context of family, from which all other institutions and concepts of manhood springs from. It is an old way of understanding brothers in a family strong and mighty in the assumptions of the cultural vortex, we of the darker hue, live in as family. It means more, this relationship: brothers with sisters.

I should stop there for I am speaking from the deep well of thought the eldest of five sees himself as a brother and a son in a family deeply embedded with the weight and power of legacies!...

Love the picture, I do. These are my words, Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4/18/18

We, the Brothers Four! Eric, Gregory, David and Michael Woods. 2017.

When Dr. King spoke: "If you can't fly, then run, if you can't run, then walk, if you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward" I heard the enforcement of the laws of purpose, and felt at the time what it meant to Colored folks. Being young, and being old and a Negro in those times held a stress level that strangled dreams. It killed by fear and emboldened by necessity a killer instinct in others, and made the leaders arise from within the caste system created by the fears white lives developed themselves into monsters or tolerant moderates, afraid to do what was right in the sight of God!

Dr. King, I recall, was despised by so many ministers, but I saw fear of changing the white people around them alive in the purposes the church served in Colored neighborhoods. No one killed like white folks! I remember how television delivered these messages from Martin Luther King Jr. the way word spread through the forests into the towns and cities where 'Members' lived. I remember old people talking about the way storytellers told the old stories to the children around fires in the dark of night! The fires became radio, radio became television and television became the internet, where the family circles disappeared into the mist of separate rain drops.

Now, today broken circles pretend to bring people together. Pieces of a dream are no more effective than broken bowls. The old ways of fighting the demons are the methods to bring the worst of killers to their comeuppance, to trail, to the courts of law, but not the law created by the killers and framed by the beneficiaries of their brutal murders and acquisitions by force and terror.

It is less and it is more our Ancients speaking the old truths our interactions with those from Europe stripped from our knowing of the deep that gave Dr. King his voice... - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4/18/18

SEEN in the interior of the Soul. . .

The outstanding is astounding! In women seeing themselves in the admiration from men is a value system. In fact, memories stirred by looks means something adheres to what people value: worth. Are beautiful women observed, or their beauty perceived? Do beautiful women believe in the ideal from those who admire them, or lie about how important it is to be admired for beauty? Are we wrong needing Beauty, or women needing to be seen as beautiful?

Simple questions, but at the beginning of puberty the question is raised by the consciousness of general society. It is our parents our validation should come from, or at least, the form of family once held that status. Now, with Instagram baby sitting children, and informing them value has become a vague sense of being accepted by strangers, by people a child will never see face to face. Ain't that some shit? ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4/28/18

EPIDEMICS: diseases of soul and bodies in our world!

Black Theology, Black Church

Many church goers are seeking individual salvation. Family and community is actually closer to being "Christian". I am convinced that the Kingdom of Heaven begins in the family. Return to the civility of our deeper mind to transcend the madness. "When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you." African Proverb. The dominant culture still regards us as property, so we are forced to access divine wisdom as a collective that has eroded in too many of our youth. This is our responsibility.

The selfish angel dominated the children of God. He rapes the powerful and the weak. As a liar and a thief, he successfully educates the privileged to exploit the exploitable and feel satisfied while he rapes the human collective, causing all to behave like his children and not God's. We must address the pathology of contempt from the individual to the collective. The lust for power creates pirates who do not apologize for their behavior. - Adruma Victoria (2017)

African Mothers and AIDS

Mothers2Mothers, an international non-profit organization, based in Cape Town, South Africa was born in 2001, was founded by Frank Beadle de Palomo and Robin Smalley. Mothers2Mothers work with pregnant mothers, and new mothers who are HIV+, empowering, teaching, training and employing the mothers. These women become advocates for the millions of women in sub-Saharan Africa to fight through the myths about HIV/AIDS for better quality to life, and a myriad of concerns facing the countries of Africa; not as common here in the United States! The infected women receive treatment, while pregnant, preventing the transmission of the disease to their unborn children. These mentor mothers empower and educate other mothers throughout sub-Saharan Africa in a concentrated way to diminish the transmission of HIV, and better equip mothers with the tools they need in their environments! In sub-Saharan Africa 200 babies a day are infected with the virus. 1.3 million pregnant women live with the virus in this region; it is estimated!

My research suspects this is a modest estimation to ease the enormity of the epidemic. Remember this is an epidemic! Now it is possible to reduce the chances of babies born with the virus to as low as 5% by technological advancements approved, and made profitable for Western countries to pour into Africa! Mothers2Mother is an organization, a movement to support, get behind and emulate in related fields of concern for women throughout the African Diaspora! - Gregory E. Marriage in Hollywood.

"The images created and sustained by Hollywood shaped the ideas of the modern American family in superficial, and significant ways. They solidified the authority of the nuclear family so far down in our collective memories the stability of, and ancient strength of the clan systems of the extended families and the traditions and rituals they have established deep in the indigenous mindsets got lost in the 'American Dream'.

The way people of the darker hue need to revive their souls is to shake this out of our systems as easily as one wakes up from a gripping nightmare pretending to be other than what it really is: the nightmare! The way white people need to perform the same task is different, and unlike the way others of us must unlearn! You see, those who created and seem to succeed from the dysfunction of the nuclear family have to recognize its enormity with fears acquainted with denial. At some point the various directions realization takes the different people towards wholeness, people will come together; but not superficially. . ." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [9/9/17]

Ancient Teaching: family

driving a man crazy is an art form !!!!
March 23, 2016

Driving not just any man crazy, but her man is the object of seduction, allure and binding a man to her. Holding a man with her essence is through lovemaking beyond the transitory aspect of a booty call, or one-night stands. It is the spiritual ability to connect souls to each other by the way seed is given and received. It is an ancient gift Creator gave his creation and it is the fundamental element building family.

an old Maidu story about

MOUNTAIN-LION AND HIS CHILDREN

Mountain-Lion went off to hunt deer. Having put provisions of different sorts on his back, he started off, and, travelling for some time, he camped for the night. He slept, and in the morning, after having breakfasted, after having made ready his bow, he went hunting

He kept travelling about, and, after having shot a deer, carried it on his back to camp towards evening. Then, skinning it, he prepared and dried the meat; and when it was partially dry, after having packed it in a sack, in the morning he went off. And continuing on his way, he reached home.

His two children, who usually came out to meet him, were not there. He heard nothing. "What has happened!" he wondered. Then laying down the deer, after having sat down, he peeped into his winter-house.

Some one lay there on the ground, alongside of his wife. "I wonder where my two children have gone!" he thought. Again he peeped in, but did not see them. "I wonder where they have gone!" he thought.

He searched about for tracks. He followed the tracks along the trail. Then he turned back again towards the house, and returned thither. He set fire to it, he burned down the house.

While the two children were staying in the house, while they were playing, that man (Lizard) crawled in toward them. He sat down, and remained there sitting. "Your father, where has he gone?" he said.

They did not answer. They ran behind their mother, being afraid.

Then that old woman spoke. "He has gone to hunt deer," she said. "Ho!" said he, and, after having sat a while, went across, and sat down close beside her, remained sitting there.

"What are you doing?" she said. "What am I doing? I am going to marry you," he said. "What are you saying? I am already married," said she. Nevertheless I am going to marry you," he said.

Then he seized her. "Because of our having done thus, 'In olden times they wronged women, even though having children,' it is thus that mortal men, evil-speaking men, stealing women, shall say," he said.

"Women believing, this, even though married, shall take another husband," said he. So saying, he lay down alongside her, and the woman made no reply.

The two children stood still behind the fire. Then, taking hold of each other's hands, they crawled out. And when they had stood around for a while outside, they went off; and, having dug open an ant-hill, they crawled into it. Going off angry, they kept on downwards, and camped for the night. The sister was the younger, it is said; the boy, the older.

They had gone on ahead, it is said, when after them that old man (Mountain-Lion), returning home, coming back with game from the hunt, burned down the house.

Thereafter the old man searched, he followed their tracks. Far he could not track them. Where they had gone about playing, he followed the tracks. He went about crying, all day he cried. He sought their tracks, but he did not see them. He could not track them anywhere. So he went off northwestward, and, going as far as he could, he went around towards the south. He went across and around towards the east, and came on to the northwest, searching for tracks, it is said. He went all around the world, but did not see tracks.

He went farther. "To what country, to what country, have they gone, that I have not found their tracks?" he said. Then he went on, went to the place where the sun goes down, came around toward the south. Going farther, he came hither, went where the sun rises, went sorrowing greatly. "What country have they gone to, that I have not seen them?" he said.

He departed, crossed over to the east, and, travelling in a circle, went to the north. "To what country, I wonder, have they gone, that I have not seen them!" he said. Every day he travelled, crying, till he reached the place whence he had set out. Then, sitting down, he remained there. He wept.

After a while he spoke. "What countries I have travelled! I will go back," he said. So he went back, kept travelling, and after a while reached his own country, his house. Then, from where their tracks had started, he followed them; kept following, followed to where, having gone a little distance from the house, they had stopped.

He could not understand. What is to be done, I wonder!" he said. Then, after he had stood around for a while, having looked here and there, he scraped away the sand at the ant-hill. The opening continued on down, and he crawled into it. Near by was the place where (the children) had camped for the night, and from there again he saw the tracks. So then he camped for the night. In the morning, having gotten up, he went on.

Having gone a little ways, the children had camped. His sister having grown tired, the boy had carried her, and, having carried her a little ways, he made her get down. This was the way they had done: always again going a little farther on, they had camped.

Seeing this, (Mountain-Lion) went on; seeing where they had camped, he went off; and, having gone a little farther, he camped. The two children, killing some birds, had eaten them there; in coming thus far, they had grown a little larger. Then they had gone on, kept travelling, going a little farther, and had camped again. And at that place, digging camas, they had eaten their supper. (Mountain-Lion) reached that place, and went on.

Then again, going a little ways, they had camped; and the old man, reaching there, camped for the night. They had shot ducks; they had gathered all kinds of roots, all kinds of food; then they had had supper. Reaching that spot, the old man saw all this, and camped there. And having, eaten all such sorts of food, he slept. In the morning, having breakfasted, he went on.

From there the old man, they say, kept travelling, eating food, and camped just where they had camped; then, continuing on his way, he went on. Having departed towards a distant country, they had camped, they had shot a young deer, they had made a bow. The bow was left behind, a little seed-beater was left behind. After using them, they had left them, and had gone on from there.

The old man reached that place and camped. Taking down the deer which hung there, he roasted it, roasted camas in the ashes, and ate supper. In the morning he arose, cooked some deer, roasted some camas, and breakfasted. Then he went off, kept travelling, and again came to where they had camped. A large deer was hanging there. A tray-basket was left behind, a root-digger was left behind, a large bow was left behind, well-made things had been left.

He arrived at this place; he ate supper, roasting deer, baking camas, taking it out of the fire, sifting it with the tray basket. Having prepared things well, he supped. In the morning, arising, he did just the same again,--roasting deer, baking camas, taking it out into the tray-basket, fixing it, sifting it. Then, when he had breakfasted, he went.

Having gone, it seemed as if he had nearly caught up with them. He kept travelling, and again reached the place where they had camped. They had shot a cinnamon-bear; skinning it, fixing the hide nicely, they had hung it up. At this place they left a little pack-basket, a tray-basket, a digging-stick they had abandoned.

He arrived at that place. "I have almost caught up," he thought. Then taking down the bear, roasting it, roasting it well, he supped. After he had slept, in the morning he arose and breakfasted. Then he went on, he went away. When they went off, the children left a hut behind. Putting it together with bark, fixing it, covering it over, they had camped. He arrived there. A burden-basket was left, a winnowing-tray was left, a quiver was hung up, deer was hung up, bear was hung up.

Having arrived, he built a fire; then taking down the deer, roasting it, he supped. Then he slept; and in the morning, having arisen, he roasted some deer and breakfasted. Then he went away, kept going until he reached where they had camped. When he had arrived, a black-bear hide was hanging there, a fisher-skin quiver was left; a burden-basket, a winnowing basket, were left. "I think I have almost caught up," he said. And, having finished eating his breakfast, he went on.

Now he had grown very old. Continuing on thus far, when he looked up, he saw there was a great winter-house. Keeping on his way, he arrived there, being very old. And arriving there, beside the winter-house, outside the house, he sat down. Then sitting there, he stretched himself out, and lay on his back.

They saw and spoke of the very old man, "Who has come?" they said. Then that woman who had a father came out. She recognized her father. "It is my father! My father has come!" she said. Then her brother came out, and, coming out, he looked repeatedly at him. But, being so old, he could hardly recognize him. So, going into the house, he brought out his bow, and shot him who lay there. His father died.

After a while he lifted him on his shoulder, and carried him to a spring, and laid him in it. Then in the morning, waking and rising as a young man, he came out. He came into the house. His daughter lived there, married, having children. His son also similarly was living there, having children. And the old man having come in, they gave him breakfast.

Then, having breakfasted, they talked together. "We, our mother being seized by some kind of mysterious person, became afraid and ran away. We came as far as this," they said. Then they remained in that country in the olden time.

Death of a Brother to a Celebrity, to a person.

Chelsea Handler on the tragic death of her brother: 'You have all these beautiful memories'

by Aaron Couch / PEOPLE
May 4, 2016

Chelsea Handler is able to find something positive out of one of the darkest times for her family.
Handler, who grew up the youngest of six siblings, lost her brother Chet in 1984 when she was just 9 years old. The eldest Handler sibling died after he fell off a cliff in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

"Seeing your parents fall apart is really rough," Handler, 41, told PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly Editorial Director Jess Cagle. "I wouldn't wish it on anybody."

"As hard as it was for me or for my brothers or sisters - [how did it feel] for my parents to have your own child in danger in that way? And then you can't protect them and you couldn't save them?"

"In hindsight it really kept us as a tight-knit group, because it was so tragic and awful," she says.

"Ultimately, it was kind of a beautiful gift because we all value each other so much."
Another gift Handler feels blessed with is her memories of growing up the baby of her family.

"They took care of me," she says of her five older siblings. "They took me everywhere, and I was a little rascal. They'd go to their high school parties and bring me because I had this attitude. I was their little entertainment wind-up doll."

Handler, whose Netflix talk show Chelsea debuts May 11, fondly recalls taking care of Chet when he would come home from engineering school.

"I was, like, 7 or 8, and he would come home and I would make him cereal when he would come home late from school, from college, and I would put it in a bowl and act like I made him dinner, and look after him."

She continues, "He would always come upstairs to my mom's bedroom and be like, 'Where is she? Where is she?' I would be under the bed and he'd grab me and he'd drag me down the stairs while I was kicking and screaming. We played that game all the time."

Handler says that sometimes the memories are enough to sustain her: "You have all these beautiful memories, and that's enough sometimes."

Handler's Netflix show Chelsea begins streaming May 11.

PRACTICE 23

There is a legacy of privilege and an intellectual and spiritual legacy of entitlement from the first time the Doctrine of Discovery entered the world and became a tool of conquest for the Europeans. This story is pivotal. It was a beginning. Its importance is related to the next killing, the next school massacre, and the next attack on American liberties, and the water wars soon to come. The fact of and the painful presence of millions of Westerners happily ignorant of this simple tale of woe that fed their ancestor's disassociation from what connects one to another was acted out by the careless disregard for life that stumped the indigenous tribes first meeting the whites five and four and three centuries ago. After centuries of murder and taking what has been and is the cost to the soul?

The spirit of a People precedes them, and leaves a mark in the grass when passing from place to place. People from around the world had hunted many a creature, but none as insidious as the one creature lurking within the spirit of a People from across the Atlantic Ocean in Europe. The depths of their wounds are incalculable, and all the people of the world suffer from this legacy. How many other planets and life forms are watching this drama outplay itself? It is a useless form of energy, but we all at this time in our collective history have a piece of the the stench, the shit, the weight of this legacy upon and within us. It is like shit on shoes. It tracks in the house where we all live. The questions, the answers to the questions are in the form of the question: "How do we heal? How do we heal each other?"

The white people will never figure out how to arise like the Phoenix from their history and their spiritual past and karmic legacy. There can be no great comfort in the spirit they carried within themselves from land to land for five centuries. Their legacy leaves all of us with previously some unimaginable problems and concerns, and more questions within our collective sphere of concern.

"Does privilege buy contentment and peace of mind?"
"How thick is the veneer of wealth?"
"Is it a shield?"

In 2010 Ethan Couch, drunk at 16 years of age, ran his vehicle into another vehicle killing four adults, and was sentenced in Texas to 10 years probation. The juvenile court in Fort Worth, Texas order the boy into private therapy at $450,000 per year because he was suffering from 'affluenza'! The legal argument was that the boy was a victim of wealth! Affluenza is a psychological malaise supposedly affecting wealthy young people, symptoms of which include lack of motivation, feelings of guilt and a sense of isolation. On the other end of the social spectrum poor inner city youth are engaged in hard street life where many of them live with feelings of guilt, have no motivation, and feel isolated in society. Their feelings of isolation are compounded by being African-American, Native American, Hispanic youth, and poor whites without legal representation from the pricey law firms face serious time for small crimes to high crimes. This social problem is a spiritual problem, and a problem of perception and legacy. What and how you participate in healing as opposed to bitterness?

People of color cannot live without white people and their gifts to the world and white people cannot continue to live as a people known for killing their grandchildren to feed their children any longer. What healing modality should we employ to heal self and each other? Do you feel and see the legacy of a people and how it adversely affects us all at every level of being human? What ceremonies, actions, and conversations will lead us to become relatives again? What prayers will call out our duty to each other? I may be a free man, but my freedom is shackled by another's bondage.

True Testament of Powers

Maat Petrova running with her daughters (10.12.15)

Just one year ago I was a

đŸ”čFull time Graduate Student.
đŸ”čFull time employed.
đŸ”čFull time working on my business.
đŸ”čFull time internship...
đŸ”čWorking out 3-4 times weekly.
đŸ”čTaking my youngest to and from school on train daily, as a
đŸ”čFull time single mom of three girls.
đŸ”čAnd according to ppl who would bump into me, "Not a strand of hair out of place of a thread hanging." I kept my presence tight. ~~~

Though this was the most demanding time of my life being one individual juggling so much Full Time, it was then that I realized the difference between Ability and Excuses: a burning Desire and Wishing.

Being Super and being Average as I was the latter until those two years of my life. I was a weak thinker. A defeatist, I knew about my inner powers but I didn't know how to activate them. I would wish as if it were impossible for me to attain those wishes, I would make excuses as if I didn't have the arms legs, head, time and Ability to do things, I would stay in the safe and familiar comfort zone instead of stepping into the magic outside of it. This was literally just a year ago, I moved from NY to GA Oct 2014.

But this period of my life, though imbalanced with all work it seems, that extreme, taught me what it takes to fulfill a dream, to claim my greatness and about the living powers to do anything within me.
My top hashtag then were #noexcusesmakeithappen & #allornothing. I have since found much balance from that extreme, but it was such a powerful time in my life. I'm glad I'm able to share all my tools, experience, training and expertise in my online Beaut Camp program for women.

Secrets within the SACRED & the Profane

pretty legs of a brown sista (Leah) is a starting point of the
forever saga of attraction, seduction, copulation,
and release into the other realms of Heart.

 - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 10.30.13

Pregnancy is the time of secrets unleashed into the open air. Each culture treats pregnancies with its inherent horrors and honors differently. For women of each society their lives, and what their lives will mean is made clear during the months of pregnancy. Ideally, it is a time for men standing deep in their manhood who are redefining their masculinity for the sanctity, and security of their wife's spirit, and the strength of their growing families. The reality is different for far too many. More than anything else women's fragility is dependent upon the perception and definition of manhood. Men determine the terror of women's plight as mothers, or are the support of their honoring, their safety, and their tranquility.

pregnant mother Reyna - 29 weeks

Poverty has a lot to do with the tranquility of a woman's pregnancy, as well as wealth. But, the physicality of wealth or poverty is subservient to the state of being pregnant and honored, cherished and loved by the father. If women shopped, drove, dreamed, planned, worked, raised families, and got old in matriarchal societies this would be a different conversation, and pregnancies, and masculinity and fears would be wholly different in texture and the context of the sacred would be colored different. But, we don't. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10.30.13

BEBE'S KIDS: Black Men & Spiritual Science

Tootsie
More and more I hear younger men making complaints about the women they have to chose from. It is Black men I hear worried and complaining about women they are attracted to who are also mothers. Not knowing what it means many venture into these relationships drawn by whatever drew them to the women in the first place. Times have changed and the dynamics of the sexual revolution and the long period of re-accessing of values from the hippie era is manifesting in a social construct traditions are not prepared to handle fairly.

Cuddled between short and taller pillars men are required to have or at the least have access to deeper wisdoms if they slide between the legs of a single mother whom they know, without any doubt, will be significant and permanent in their lives. The need for pussy, and the skill to please her pussy does not constitute a man who knows how to parent another man's children, or other men's children.

The cords between a woman and the men who've entered her complicate her subtle body's relationship with her new man. Most are unaware of this, and if anyone is aware of the influence of the cords linked to their mother's bodies her children do. Children are skilled. They know how to play with those cords and affect the outcome of  the relationship between their mother and the new man.

Religion and science and societal norms do not teach the spirit of a man well enough to imbue him with deep knowledge of self, and his relationship with and importance to the wisdom of sexuality. How many men are aware of and actively engulfed in the study of spiritual sciences from within and while engaged inside of the woman he loves and has to copulate with frequently? In most respects women are the greater creation. We, as men, feel it, and at times struggle against it trying to overcome the centrifugal sexual movement which tends to lead us into the abyss of the female without success. We are vulnerable suspended in the air held afloat by the sexual tension and grounded by the growing care and love in our hearts for this woman. In this state study is a good thing to begin doing.

But what does this have to do with Bebe's kids, and for those who don't know; Bebe's kids are the comedic offspring of a famous Black comedian, Robin Williams. His portrayal of a single Black mother's horrible children and the angst felt by the man trying to build a life with her brought the house down every time. To this day, years after his death, these characters have come to symbolize a major problem within the Black American community. The simple expression, Bebe's Kids, is parallel to any of the pithy sayings of the great ones in Western history.

Well, back to the first question: "What does this have to do with Bebe's kids?"

Well my answer addressed to the young men is simple, "Well, one gets what one attracts. We attract things we need, or need to learn from, and children mirror so much it is often scary seeing who they saw doing what they do!"- Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories (dec. 21, 2012)

ANNE HECHE

Anne Heche, director & actress

Anne Heche. One of the most compelling character actresses in my estimation. I watch anything with her name in it. I think part of the respect for her is what I sense to be an inherent part of her character: curiosity and integrity. There is a keen and high intelligence within her that holds me like a moth to flame devoted to what the moth does not know how to articulate. In real life her commitment to her family and the concepts of families, which is ever changing in modern life, Anne Heche has created a business to assist in the health of our bodies with a product line, Tickle Time.

TO Be Heard

"The family is the origin and basic foundation that is unchanging throughout the ages. It cannot be changed by a father, by a brother or sister, or even by a nation’s institutions. Moreover, it cannot be changed by the world, by heaven and earth, or even by God. Hence, the concept of revolution is not needed for the family." -The Parent's of Heaven and Earth

The summation of intellectual intimacy, and supremacy is based upon a law of perception. Our relationship with that law of perception is based upon our perception of self, and our surroundings. How it works is an intricate puzzle that begins simply with a story told, an impression made when first we meet our parents as tiny babies. How it changes and evolves is solely dependent upon our parents, and those surrounding our young lives. From there everyone's story becomes a projectile of intersecting stories changing as we change, evolving as we evolve, or fail to evolve. Very quickly our lives in short increments of time can settle in crudeness, or never get stuck there. Driven by curiosity, motivated by love, spurned by jealous people, lovingly embraced, left to fend for one's self, or fed by parents daily, or subjected to government wars or street wars there is no set determinate factors to guarantee individual outcome.

Past lives plays a role in perception of life on Earth, our Mother, divine intervention, and  fear propelled action away from dangers, or submission to subjugation play their roles in who we become, whether we remember why we agreed to live in this lifetime, or not. Life is a spiritual journey dependent upon remembering who we are, and deciding to live or not.

How do you remember the why of your existence? ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.24.14
