Outbreak: LAW against Sense

Eight employees of the Netflix show, House of Cards, accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment, and assault. One of the young men said: 

"The low-level staffer recalled being assigned to pick Spacey up for an on-location shoot outside of Baltimore. As they were approaching the set, Spacey while behind the wheel “put his hands down the production assistant’s pants.”

“I was in a state of shock,” he said. “He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain there.”

Once they arrived, he escorted Spacey to his trailer with his belongings. In the trailer, the production assistant alleges that Spacey cornered him and blocked the exit.

“I told him, ‘I don’t think I’m ok with this, I don’t think I’m comfortable with this,'” the production assistant said. That’s when the actor became “visibly flustered,” fled the trailer, got in his car and left for the remainder of the day, according to the production assistant." 

Part Two

This narrative of a male victim of the sexual advances of a predatory homosexual man is typical. The advent of the Gay Rights movement at the height of its agenda manifesting as law, devoid of its moral contradictions, has created an acceptance of weakness supplanting decisive actions to protect boys from these men. The men who prey now have an out: denial. They have been relying on the naysayers against the relationship between pedophiles, and homosexuality, as a way of being 'afraid of homosexuals'. In the real world, this has foolish a belief to intake. It is a deadly mistake. The victims are everywhere lost in the mess of being compliant, of being accepting, or pretending.

The hard question: "how do we protect our children?" is lost in the Western quest to be tolerant, as the potential victims are being persuaded to allow almost anything, thus creating more vulnerable victims unable to protect themselves effectively.

Part Three

Shamed on national television, one of my favorite actors, is being told on by the young boys, and men he was used to getting his way with. This narrative of a male victim of the sexual advances of a predatory homosexual man is typical. With a populace pretending there is no connection between pedophiles and homosexuality and the national fear of Gay activists, the responsibility to protect virginity and vulnerability is without the question: "How do we protect the innocent?" This edict is far from the lexicon of adulthood, of parenting.

"How do we teach children to defend themselves against predators looking for boys to have sex?"

What is currently passing for sage advice is fundamentally unstructured with no strength of character. It is all in the words of one of the victims I've laid before you to read and ponder:

The above mentioned boy's way of getting out and away from Kevin Spacey worked, but it reflected the very weakness of men like this, and centuries ago in ancient Greece and Rome with a similar climate, men like this could manipulate feelings and fear, and have their way. But, many men, true men, would have taught their sons deadly arts that would have left Spacey with a pencil in the soft tissue of an ear, or worse. The father of a boy who'd defended himself thus would step in, at this point, and take on the law in the most logical of ways to protect his son from the system of thought that pretends this reality does not exist.

What We See Within Each Other

Grandmother of the jungle: This Kerala tribal woman can prepare 500 medicines from memory

She lives in a small hut with a palm leaves roof in a tribal settlement, deep in the forest of Kallar in Thiruvananthapuram district.

Lakshmikutty, a 75-year-old tribal woman is a poet, poison healer and teacher at Kerala Folklore Academy.  

With medicinal herbs and plants surrounding her small hut, hundreds trek to the forests to visit Lakshmikutty, who offers herbal treatment for poisoning. But it’s not only medicine that she has to offer but she also helps calm those affected with her gentle words, which can last for hours.    
All her knowledge on herbal treatment, she says, was passed on from her mother, who worked as a midwife. And with neither Lakshmikutty nor her mother making a written record of the medicinal plants and their uses, the Kerala Forest Department has decided to compile a book based on her expertise.  

“I can prepare about 500 medicinal treatments from memory. Till now I have not forgotten them. But people come here for poison treatment mainly snake or insect bites,” she says.

Her dream, she says, is to convert her hut into a small hospital, where patients requiring long-term treatment can continue to stay.

Many fondly refer to her as ‘Vanamuthassi’ (Grandmother of the jungle in Malayalam) but she is more than just that. Lakshmikutty also gives lectures on natural medicine at various institutions across the southern states.

“I have visited many places outside the forest. Met many people, but I belong here. My heredity exists here,” she notes.

It was in 1995 that Lakshmikutti got noticed by those outside her forest when she received the ‘Naattu Vaidya Rathna’ award (award for naturopathy) from the Kerala government.

“Till then people used to come here after hearing me from those I have already cured. Before 1995 people visited me from far off places but the number increased after I won the award,” she recalls. She has won numerous awards since then, with the latest coming from the Indian Biodiversity Congress in 2016.

Her persistence made her the only tribal girl from her area to attend school in the 1950s. “I still wonder how I went to school. I was persistent that I go to school and my father finally had to agree,” she laughs.  Together with two other boys from her settlement, Lakshmikutty walked 10 kilometres every day to get to school. She, however, studied only until class 8 as her school did not have higher education.

One of the boys she walked to school with, was her cousin Mathan Kaani, who she developed a deep friendship with, that eventually progressed to marriage. “He was with me in all my decisions and achievements. He used to tell me that I can achieve my goals even without him because I was a strong woman. He was the perfect partner from the day I got married at the age of 16 until he died last year,” she recounts.

Not wanting their children to face the same challenges they had undergone as tribals living in the forest, Lakshmikutty and her husband provided their children with a good education.

“I was adamant that my children should study. Nobody in our settlement gets an education, I consider it valuable,” she says.

But tragedy struck Lakshmikutty’s family.

“The most painful incident I have gone through is my elder son’s death. He was killed by a wild elephant,” she recalls. Her younger son also died in an accident. Another son is working as chief ticket examiner for the railways.

But beyond the world of natural medicine, Lakshmikutty is also known for her satirical poems and writings. She has written numerous articles ranging from tribal culture to the forests, which have been published by DC Books.

Her poems, she observes, can be recited on a rhythm. “These are simple words anybody can recite, it’s not in tribal language as you expect,” she smiles.

And despite all that she’s achieved, the 75-year-old woman insists, “The outer world has given me a lot, awards, honour, published books and so on. But I want to stay here. To live in the forest, you need courage.”

I wanted to share a photo that celebrates our one year tandem journey. It hasn't always been a smooth road but here we are. In the early days, I was thankful that I had a toddler to help keep my supply going while my new baby struggled with nursing. Now, I'm happy with how well they have bonded. Sometimes they are sweet and hold hands while nursing and other times they try to poke each other in the eye... This is my reality. This is what works for us.

More and more I hear younger men making complaints about the women they have to chose from. It is Black men I hear worried and complaining about women they are attracted to who are also mothers. Not knowing what it means many venture into these relationships drawn by whatever drew them to the women in the first place. Times have changed and the dynamics of the sexual revolution and the long period of re-accessing of values from the hippie era is manifesting in a social construct traditions are not prepared to handle fairly. 

Cuddled between short and taller pillars men are required to have or at the least have access to deeper wisdoms if they slide between the legs of a single mother whom they know, without any doubt, will be significant and permanent in their lives. The need for pussy, and the skill to please her pussy does not constitute a man who knows how to parent another man's children, or other men's children.

The cords between a woman and the men who've entered her complicate her subtle body's relationship with her new man. Most are unaware of this, and if anyone is aware of the influence of the cords linked to their mother's bodies her children do. Children are skilled. They know how to play with those cords and affect the outcome of  the relationship between their mother and the new man. 

Religion and science and societal norms do not teach the spirit of a man well enough to imbue him with deep knowledge of self, and his relationship with and importance to the wisdom of sexuality. How many men are aware of and actively engulfed in the study of spiritual sciences from within and while engaged inside of the woman he loves and has to copulate with frequently? In most respects women are the greater creation. We, as men, feel it, and at times struggle against it trying to overcome the centrifugal sexual movement which tends to lead us into the abyss of the female without success. We are vulnerable suspended in the air held afloat by the sexual tension and grounded by the growing care and love in our hearts for this woman. In this state study is a good thing to begin doing. 

But what does this have to do with Bebe's kids, and for those who don't know; Bebe's kids are the comedic offspring of a famous Black comedian, Robin Williams. His portrayal of a single Black mother's horrible children and the angst felt by the man trying to build a life with her brought the house down every time. To this day, years after his death, these characters have come to symbolize a major problem within the Black American community. The simple expression, Bebe's Kids, is parallel to any of the pithy sayings of the great ones in Western history. 

Well, back to the first question: "What does this have to do with Bebe's kids?"

Well my answer addressed to the young men is simple, "Well, one gets what one attracts. We attract things we need, or need to learn from, and children mirror so much it is often scary seeing who they saw doing what they do!"- Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories (dec. 21, 2012)

8 Forces = Creation

During the years time moved around and gave me age I've thought about the so-called struggle with the Devil, and I began to see the emphasis on him as a Magician's Trick; a clever way of throwing out of sync where the focus of spiritual work should be: within. Not only is the universe reflected within our being the shadows and the light of our souls is reflective of the elements that compose Creation. Creation is a dance of elements. It is math and law, as Old Man taught me over the same years that gave me age, and insights.

Morihei Ueshiba, who founded Aikido, observed and shared that "Eight forces sustain creation: movement and stillness, solidification and fluidity, extension and contraction, unification and division."  When the Sioux war chief, Sitting Bull was in a battle he said, "Today is a good day to die, for all the things of my life are here." Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the Light..."

These are long ways of men saying what women teach by their powers of Birth. Life-death-resurrection is the fundamental thread within the mystery teachings of Judaism, and from the ancient mysterious of the Egyptians, and many other indigenous traditions lives these sensible  observations felt in the way one lives with the Earth, our Mother.

War-like cultures have to have an enemy. Islam talks about the holy jihad as the inner battle, or struggle one undertakes within one's soul between light and dark, good and evil. These themes are fundamental to growth, and uncovering the mysteries we come from and are born into and are compelled to explore. If one needs a devil to focus on to become his/her best self; so be it. It is just that Old Man forbade me giving Satan any energy by acknowledging, or saying his name. Old Man said Christians say his name, and gave him more credit for things than they do Jesus!

In my experience Black Motherhood is intimately linked to social activism. I have no idea, or capacity to separate the two. They are as inseparable as the Creatress within Zero is inseparable from the Creator whose copulation produced One. This the sacred dividing of the Zero that birthed the numbers and granted authorship into the roles numbers play within Creation, and how powers, and attributes are dispensed throughout all of Creation.  

These are mysterious things, and invisible things attached to the holy places men need to learn to trust as much as the Creation Stories they come from and cling to. The Her of Existence is important to the continuation of Life, and the maintenance of souls, of generations, and is directly responsible for clarity within her creations she calls her children, and the numbers she birthed that hold thoughts, agreements, and the world together. - Gregory E. “... How will history judge the United States? Will it depict America as the benevolent crusader that it portrays itself, or will history be more candid and juxtapose its generosity and goodwill with its dark side? One cannot write a history about the United States without telling the story of its philanthropy; however, the story that shines brighter than its willingness to come to the aid of those who are less fortunate, is American aggression. This country was birthed in revolution and along the way annihilated nearly 200,000 innocent Japanese with the dropping of two atomic weapons; the only country to have done so. 

Most historians, who have written about the American Revolution that I have studied, seem to take for granted that the war was just; however, there is no consensus that holds the U.S. blameless for the nuclear weapons that were dropped on Japan in World War II. Some argue that it saved tens of thousands of lives by bringing the war to a swift end, but there are those, including Daniel Goldhagen who has written Worst than War, Genocide, Eliminationism and the Ongoing Assault on Humanity, where he argues that Japan was on the brink of surrender and was negotiating the terms of its surrender when America dropped the bombs. He argues that history should consider President Truman a war criminal for his decision to drop the bomb on a totally vanquished opponent. I found out yesterday, David Tolson, died suddenly a couple days ago. He was my friend since our teenage years. Fascinating! If one were to think in terms of musical frequencies emitted by each planet in a specific sign, a person's horoscope would make a specific kind of harmony or music. Then, when brought together with others (people or even planets that continue to move through time), the music would be either enhanced or become cacophonic. In fact, the music is constantly encouraged to adapt and rearrange itself to fit the stronger pattern. 

Johannes Kepler (1561-1630) spoke convincingly of the harmony that permeates the universe, extending the work of Pythagoras and the theme of "music of the spheres". Pythagoras defined music "as the perfect union of contrary things, as unity in multiplicity, or accord in discord." Indeed, music does not only coordinate rhythm and modulation, but imposes order on the whole system. Pythagoras discovered that the pitch of a musical note changed if the length of a piece of string was stopped half way along. This created an octave that produced the same quality of sound as the note produced by the unstopped string, but it vibrated at twice the frequency. The Pythagoreans used music to heal the body and elevate the soul. In ancient cosmology the planetary spheres ascended from Earth to Heaven like the rungs of a ladder, with each sphere said to correspond to a different note on a grand musical scale. 

Traditional astrology recognizes 5 significant relationships based on the 12-fold division of the zodiac signs, their significance being derived by analogy with the ratios of the musical scale. Thus the conjunction is equal to 2 notes played in unison, dividing the circle into the ratio 1:2. Not confining himself to zodiac signs alone, Kepler looked into the theory of harmonics and extended the analogy of the musical scale. He alerted astrologers to several new aspects, such as the highly creative quintile and biquintile series, as well as the sesqui-quadrate. 3 laws of planetary motion: Kepler is most famous for formulating his 3 laws of planetary motion, which made a fundamental break with astronomical tradition and superseded the ancient Ptolemaic concept of a spherical universe with an epicyclical motion (around the Earth at the centre). 

In 1609, in Astronomia Nova ("New Astronomy"), Kepler announced in his first law that the orbits of planets were elliptical, not circular. In his second law he stated that the speed of a planet varied at different stages of its orbit. His third law was published in 1618 in Harmonice Mundi ("Harmony of the Worlds" - adding to Pythagoras' theme of the music of the spheres). The third law established that there was relationship between a planet's distance from the Sun and the time it takes to complete an orbit.

In this spiritual journey, you must understand that you have power on the inside that's greater than any negative influence on the outside. You need to know that setbacks will arise in your life in order to take your attention off what you were meant to become and shift your attention on what you can't become. The good news is that God loves you so much that He can take what was meant to destroy you and use it to elevate you. All you need to do is decide that you won't settle for settling. It's not too late. Set you mind on accomplishing your goal and work towards it daily. The only thing stopping you is YOU. God is ready to elevate you but you must have enough faith to trust Him.

The writer of Proverbs deposits these words of wisdom when he said, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Please don't miss this. Whatever God has given you, He expects you to use it. Failure to use what God has given you is just like slapping God in the face and calling Him a failure. I have news for you - God is not a failure and neither are you. Whatever God has placed in you, it's time to use it. Don't wait, hesitate, or procrastinate - the time is now. It's time to rise above the negativity and allow God to show up and show out in your life. From this day forward, tell yourself and others that you refuse to live beneath your potential.
