"As often as mirrors are used it is important to remember when mirrors were in other's eyes, or reflections in the waters. The concepts of children as mirrors, women as reflections of their husbands, or the mirror teachings of sages about human nature preceded the manufacture of glass as mirrors. But, still the call to see the reflection of one's words, one's life legacy upon his grandchildren, and the views of his wife harks back to the time the waters told the story of birth, helped develop maturity, and inducted people through initiatory rites into the deeper mysteries understood in each epoch, or era, and lifetime.
Today we can carry mirrors and at any given moment sit very still and contemplate our appearance, or as a warrior walk forward while looking into a mirror at what is behind. It is a warrior's development technique a novice should not try without the prerequisite stories and the caring touch of an Elder teaching the spirit.
