Sarah Palin brings to the fore a major contradiction in America's intellectual culture. There is an insistence on the reinstatement of mediocrity, and the disregard for profound historical introspection is fundamental to a large segment of American society. I like Sarah Palin. She is gorgeous and easy on the eyes but we cannot be swayed by beauty. We need to establish an intellectual, and spiritual stance indicative of a super power responsible for more than conquest.

Sarah Palin is "Fine as can be...", but that and being vapid are not good traits to honor at the national and the international level. But, we do, as a country, like to employ low standards to overcome high expectations specifically when it comes to race, and as a tactic against the usual high commitment Black Americans have always been committed to, and practiced, at major junctures of our roads!

Conservative, and liberal white Americans, consistent to the bone, are steeped in the racial politics of this country embraced by a history they wish no one would bring up anymore; yet the story comes up. It is too well known, and always expecting its return on the value of supremacy and its importance in this culture and white folk's place in history!

Donald Trump was boosted to leadership because he came from and represented the low end capacity to engage in truth with no moral compass to direct him to the sophisticated level of manhood a nation needs to be better. White America needs that. It supports the illusion that our contradictions, and our past can disappear if they say the words. Same holds true for morality. High moral standards and highly developed intellectually capacity, among white political elite and the rank and file, were despised in former President Obama by this class of people on both sides of the political persuasion. History supported their actions of sabotage that followed his election into the high office!

This is the pattern.

As a child, we had to recognize it, prepare for it, and be better than it! It is white Americans pretending their ideologies are void of what is odious to the rest of the thinking world! Alone this dichotomy will, and is undermining the country! This is the American way!

In the political circles I thought oogling over powerful white women in office, or on the political front was taboo babe watching as a sport! After all those white conservative folks are always talking about morality and family values implying that propriety is in order. The church tradition looks down upon women's sexuality is the message Church gave to many a person each Sunday; so in the bastion of the Bible Belt there is a monthly babe magazine and a distinction: Poli-Chick of the Week! On July 3, 2013, Senator Wendy Davis was the chick of the week and she is a single mother of two known for talking for 13 hours in pink tennis shoes about abortion and women's rights!

A few weeks ago girl watching with some very young men in my teaching style I pointed out a woman walking a stroller with a little one trying to keep up with her crossing the street. The boys were unable to look at her, and finally forced to exclaimed their horror, "She is a mother!" They couldn't see her, or admire how fine she was, or engage in a natural flow in conversation from observing beauty to any number of subjects beauty would lead a man to discuss.

It was the same when I was a little boy of 5, or 10. It was impossible to look at a pregnant woman and study what is before you in those days. No one ever told me this, as I recall, but it closed my eyes to the sight of Mommy being pregnant with each child after me and I am the oldest of five! Important aspects of women's existence are not of equal value with other mysterious things I guess because sex and sexuality still leave people saddled with guilt and shame. - Gregory E. Yesterday was the anniversary date of the 9/11 attacks. I never participate in the so-called honoring of that day for a few, but rather complicated reasons. They are complicated to the simple-mindness of many Americans who pine over the day the same way Americans did over the Alamo. There is something about unrepentant predators whining over their losses and forever chanting, "Why do they hate us?" that doesn't inspire me. Something about it and within its spirit is repulsive and profoundly disrespectful.  

The few weeks after the attacks in 2001 were ripe with the possibility of global peace. For true peace keepers it was obvious and  made it an exciting time to be alive! The chance for true peace to settle into the shock of most Americans was fresh and alive with its arms held high! It was the clearest thing to see across the entire planet! It was within reach and conceivable peace talks and ceremonies could begin its life upon the planet and stir within the belly of the beast. But, by October it was evident this opportunity would go unnoticed. 

I learned a great lesson in October of that year. Great men are not always wise. The concept of peace in the Western world is severe. Peace means how you get along with white people. The onus is upon subjugated people to align their defenses and objections and concerns about rights to life lived abundantly in such a way that they can assimilate into a system of thought and reason that makes white Americans comfortable with their consequences they chose not to acknowledge. 

The next few years were dangerous times for Arabs, Indians from India, and anyone who looked like, or reminded simpletons of Osama bin Laden. For peace advocates, black or white, young or old, it was dangerous to voice an opinion, or state the obvious to the uninformed. For thinkers it was difficult and dangerous in many parts of the country to express creative thought process to a room full of reactionaries armed for the annihilation of the Arab world. Thirteen years later there is less chance for reconciliation amongst nations. Thirteen years later very little has changed for the betterment of the world-at-large. The U.S. of A has never rested from war and killing is the top selling feature of video games.

Food Poisoned

Why is this treated and written about as if we are all making 'nicey nice' about a little o' mistake Subway made. Subway Criticized For Chemical Used In Its Breads

Good news to all those who eat at Subway. According to a statement by Subway, they are removing ‘a chemical used in yoga mats and shoe soles from the bread of its popular sandwiches.’ The move was sparked after a food blogger received 50,000 signatures in a petition drive.

The removal of this chemical was already in process and had no affect by the petition. The chemical used was azodicarbonamide.

Azodicarbonamide, according to the World Health Organization has linked this chemical additive to ‘respiratory issues, allergies, and asthma.’ It’s legal in the United States and Canada. [Note: Azodicarbonamide helps to produce air within the foam of a yoga mat.]

Food blogger, Vani Hari is responsible for bringing this information to the public. In addition to her findings, Hari takes credit for the ‘removal of yellow dyes in at least three of Kraft’s Mac & Cheese products for children.’ She is declaring victory for what Subway is doing.

First Lady Michelle Obama has praised Subway for what it’s doing with their children’s menu. Now the company will be making greater strides with their removal of their chemical additive, Azodicarbonamide.

Here’s the disturbing news to think about. A whole lot of people have been eating Subway sandwiches without knowing what they were really eating. For so long, Subway has been marketing itself as healthy choice without disclosing what they were using in their bread. Now, the truth has been told and it’s about time.

“Subway has pledged to spend $41 million over three years for its healthier kids menu with ads using Muppets, according to Business Week. Its kids menu includes healthy items, such as fruit, vegetables, non-sugary drinks, and lean dairy products.”

It looks like Subway is on the right path. Let’s make sure they stay on it.

I heard about this. I don't think this revelation will change American spending habits with this food chain. Now, if the report came that the employees smoked cigarettes in the kitchen there would be a noticeable change in patron's habits because currently Americans are focused on tobacco as the evil. Embalming fluid is an ingredient in marijuana, and one of the substances used in hair care is used to clean and wax floors.

Our environmental issues are complex and in my lifetime I've noticed Americans are trained to be myopic and to complicate that we are overwhelmed by what we've left unattended, and deeply disappointed in the people we entrusted to look out for us we tend to behave outside of the perception we have of ourselves as the free and the brave. It is not one thing that makes us vulnerable and  ignorant and expendable at the same time. This outrageous way of preparing food is deeply grounded in an ideology we want to believe is not a part of our thinking and practice.

The typical and average Americans are not the great conquerors inside of their homes they way they are in the world kicking ass and taking names without a sense of consequences. Inside our homes our docile acceptance probably has a lot to do with being overwhelmed while struggling to make a living in an economy and culture that does not respect the basic elements of Life that hold the world, and people together, and food is the soul of a People.

To a  Sarah Palin, and many mothers it would alarm them knowing their daughters' sexuality is blooming in the spring, fall, and other seasons of the year. It is daunting for any parent to send their children unprepared and prepared into a world full of darkness, and violence, and social predatory practices that capture the ideals in Venus fly traps.

It is her face set upon another woman's body that tricks my thinking. Sarah Palin is a beautiful woman to look at, and as a mother I'd rate her quite high. I don't think as she does, but I tried to see the words of her mouth without looking at how good she looks, and I saw a set of fears I could not relate to or dignify sympathetically.

I don't share the fears whites have about losing their dominance in the world as their numbers shrink before ever growing populations of Colored People. I don't feel any urgency or necessity to arm myself any more to assert dominance over a world already conquered. I don't have the desperate, and deserved fear of retribution from all of the historical 'shit' left in the wake of my coming and goings.

Unearthing, and understanding the patterns, the structures that set the beliefs that conduct action from particular mindsets is more important to change than the definitive terms conservative or liberal, or fight to preserve old traditions or be free. This will lead to a better view of the energies that govern lawmakers, and the public emphasizing and exaggerating the importance of saying, "I am a Republican, or I am a Democrat." And being one or the other.

We can go back and forth with this, but within the Republican party's mindset was and still is a deep resistance to the basic commitment to do some of the basic things necessary to insure better futures for the coming generations. Deep within the ranks of the conservative consciousness there is a dogged insistence to be consistent in our inconsistencies. Cases in point: rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, shoring up defenses for economic calamity, creating and improving the social system's capacity to catch people who fall through the cracks, making the voting process honest, shucking the notion that people should pull themselves up by their own boot straps, or changing the philosophical conceptions of education to get the best out of most of our children!

During the Bush administration some of the country watched in horror as the Congress (both sides) allowed a weak president, much despised prior to 9/11/01, free reign to do whatever he wanted, and to spend what he wanted for the weakest of reasons. Without the benefit of intellectual discourse Congress took the country from surplus to debt and Iraq in an effort to avoid pursuing Osama bin Laden. Was that a triumph, or a coup?

There is a fundamental flaw in the thinking of the Republican party that is steeped in the Old South. It is no secret, and it is heavily defended with the language of liberal (free) thinkers easily because of the miseducation of a growing number of people from American schools... - Gregory E. Dictatorial patriotism is the brand of allegiance that requires citizens to leave introspection outside of the commitment to country, and fellow man. It is an exclusive club that leans strongly to supporting the agenda of powerful white corporations, and men building upon the energies and concepts of their forefathers that authored the textbooks of conquest and dominance upon nations of the planet. It is also a devotion to a particular brand of racism that feels like the ol' Jim Crow south with the apologies of a 20th century liberal facing his fears conjured up by the face to the contradictions of his/her brand of liberalism. 

The fourth of July releases a pent up violence a lot of white men hold within themselves throughout the year. The 4th allows them, and others so inclined to release this rage in a variety of ways. It is not the best time for people like me to go to the Mall in Washington DC to enjoy the fireworks because the chances of arousing the ire of white men overwhelmed by the social changes of the last sixty years are good.
