Fitness models today make statements and set examples previously unheard of in Western history. In Western mythology we can find stories of women of extraordinary strength and daring. The Celtic warrior clans had plenty of women warriors to unleash upon their enemies like the Romans and the Christians. There were Black African women warriors. The Dahomey nation were not alone in the continent of Africa to unleash trained women soldiers upon an enemy. Native American women warriors in some of the tribes amongst the Plains nations made vows of revenge to take enemy lives, and vows of celibacy to mark the vow with permanence and strong powers.

Women's chief battles and accomplishments were raising families and strengthening their men, and their nations. Today, those values in the women's shields of power are ridiculed often in American circles as more and more women work outside their homes away from their children, if they have any, and outside of the Western tradition of marriages headed by men. Also, great political strides have been made by women and socially in the West it is safe for women to embrace their advancements and the freedoms, but other countries are not so fortunate.


It was once dangerous for European and American white women to advance the cause of women's suffrage. Women were killed, raped, beaten, imprisoned, thrown into crazy houses or cast into the streets by their husbands. Other things could be done to them while they campaigned for rights, equal pay, the right to their own money; in short they were seeking freedom from the societal mores set up by white men's interpretation of the Bible!

Women in countries too conservative, and steeped in their traditions to see the depth of what women were born with exercise terror upon women to protect the authority and might of men. Acid to the face, killed by beheadings sanctioned by clerics, gang rapes are examples of how cruel men became to maintain power over women, land and holy scriptures.

It is the relationship and the understanding of blood to question if a woman, or anybody wanted to understand what was going on in the battle of the sexes. It is not the trivia nonsense of American culture to play cute referring to men being from Mars and women from Venus. It is far deeper than that this hatred millions of men have for women. Those contradictions are carried in behavior, thought and gesture. Remaining unanswered and unattended the bed sores of men's belief about women's place rise up from the cumulative potions and equations we insist are from God's Word!

The essential question in this transformative and transitory period in human history stands naked before us all.

"What is it that fixates women of the last two decades to an ideal of body perfection by a standard long held by men? Within the last decade women have accepted the inherent disrespect of their wombs by referring to the growth of their child in their bodies as a baby bump. There is no outcry about it, so apparently the essence of a woman doesn't matter beyond her body's accessibility, and chances of getting laid, married or admired? 

It is an odd contradiction in the face of a young girl coming up in a time when direction is governed by fears of not being acceptable, or having a cavalier attitude towards standards of being, character, power and divinity. It is no longer an American distinction. We've carried this irreverence to other countries with missionary fervor, and altered cultures the world over for a very long time. Having been successful in this we somehow feel we cannot or do not have any responsibility in this transition from the ideal to the crude. Western women have for centuries been chattel from the perspective of European histories. We Africans and Native people puzzled over the demands of such a belief and paradigm over the centuries of contact. 

Today, it is something every group in the U.S. is struggling with. Without proper tools, and the advantage of the training a warrior receives the power of conformity is greater than the truth of one's authenticity. Another generation of women are coming of age disconnected from the Sacred Powers of their Wombs, and another generation of boys will never enjoy the discovery of being inside of and a part of the balancing forces of Sacred Women.

In 2013 a Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji, I know nothing about came to my attention with a blazing headline proclaiming she had been celibate for 10 years! On the surface and beneath celibacy is not easy, and not always intentional. Without probing her reasons let's enter the landscape celibacy comes from to understand how it is capable of gripping the sex drive into a hesitant standstill. It really doesn't stand still. It shimmers concentrating on itself, and feeding the holes, the vortexes, and the body with energies strong enough to replace easy access to one's body with road blocks. In time no sex leads to celibacy and at some point celibacy becomes an act of power. Beyond that this action has created a force the gifted ones trained in spiritual sciences instinctively know how to employ, and sanction for the greater good of the best of us, and others when our spheres of influence widens.

At some point she transitioned beyond the discipline celibacy develops into a realm of possibility and dynamic plays with power. The only thing she said about the end of her act of power was simple, but important to note. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 2.16.15
