REACTING in AMERICA

The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.” –Dalai Lama

"You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened... or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on." -Tupac Shakur

"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead." -Oscar Wilde

A Colored woman, by definition determined by blood quantum or culture? Is she a Native woman forced out of her people's lodges to be made white and wound up a Colored woman at the turn of the last century? Two profound questiona better appreciated and felt at the turn of the last century. A hundred years later the questions about identity center differently as evidenced by the calibre of woman in our faces daily. You answer the question definitely by the way you perceive self, whites, Colored folks, and understand this country! - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories June 26, 2017

Passages

symbol of Woman & the Dakini by Keith Dowman

"Times would pass, old empires would fall and new ones take their place, the relations of classes had to change, before I discovered it is not the quality of good and utility which matter, but movement; not where you are, or what you have, but where you have come from, where you are going, and the rate at which you are getting there." - CLR James 1901 - 1989

ENLIGHTENMENT is. . .

Jennifer Crystal

"Dictionary definition: Enlightenment — the action or state of attaining or having attained spiritual knowledge or insight, in particular (in Buddhism) that awareness which frees a person from the cycle of rebirth." - Christopher Icha https://www.facebook.com/christopher.icha.9

"… I am beginning to understand how powerful it is to stand out on your own, to think more deeply, and to throw out all that we have been taught even from gurus and spiritual teachers. One has to find their own way. This indeed is one person’s opinion of enlightenment and indeed there are thousands more that are just as profound... What is yours? No need to tell me, simply know for yourself." - Pablo Imani https://www.facebook.com/pablo.imani from Uganda (nov. 2012)

"Enlightenment is also innerstanding dark and light are active energies. In light, we have shade (darkness). In dark, we have light (m00n and stars). oooOHMmm..." - Ralan Ahku Tehuti https://www.facebook.com/ralan.tehuti.7

Black Power(s)

Before these times and the entrance of colonial powers upon the face of Africa the color of black skin was not a volatile subject reeking of need, and subjugation. The need to reach in and re-invent has always been a task. Today with the possibility of true repentance, and reconciliation and restoration more of a possibility than yesterday how do we inhale Steve Biko's insight? - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 11.16.12

our future

from Oshun Zari

"Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live." -Mae Jemison

"Just remember the world is not a playground but a schoolroom. Life is not a holiday but an education. One eternal lesson for us all: to teach us how better we should love."  -Barbara Jordan

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." - Wilma Rudolph

"We can say "Peace on Earth." We can sing about it, preach about it or pray about it, but if we have not internalized the mythology to make it happen inside us, then it will not be."

Songs in the key of the SoulBEloved #136

"Seduction is a powerful tool. It is composed of Fire and Water, and can, in a moment, wax cold as Ice, or pour through defensive moats with slow mercurial force until the defensive barriers are welcoming arms!” - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

"Warrior Women are also magikal off the battlefield of Life ♥ whatsoever seduction is, there is a deeper inner Realm of BEingness which awakens a Sacred Womans' Wild Soul and Wild Flesh'd hinterlands ...Her places and time honoured memorials of Life initiations ...all the steps of our Her Wild Soul communion which led Her here ...kept Her whole and Holy woven and enwisened ♥ married to Her Twin Souls of Lifegiving and Lifetaking waters." - Mereana Taki, June 18, 2012

Ngaronoa Mereana Taki

“Seduction is a life skill, a sacred art. In a normal woman's hand, and in the hands of a Sacred Woman the powers of seduction speak a language irresistible to the will of men, and men in the rage of dark emotions will discover a Sacred Women's ability to cool, or stir fires. Seduction, the art form, controls a man while convincing him he is in control. Seduction is a powerful tool. It is composed of Fire and Water, and can, in a moment, wax cold as Ice, or pour through defensive moats with slow mercurial force until the defensive barriers are welcoming arms!” - Gregory E. MANHOOD TEACHINGS: man creating the world

“Daring to live means daring to die at any moment, but also means being daring to be born, crossing great steps of Life in which the person we have been dies, and is replaced by another with a renewed vision of the world, and at the same time realizing that there will be many obstacles to overcome before we reach the final stage of Enlightenment.” – Aarnoud Desjardius

FREEDOM: warrior teachings

"We need to remember who we are. Not what we have become." - Lora Long-Sigler

couple at 2007 New York City Easter Parade by the Sartorialist

“I made a difficult decision some years ago to separate myself from everyone in my life whether there was conflict or drama between us, or not. It was a life/death decision that altered my life beyond words. It gave me a clarity you cannot buy. Of all things to fear people basically fear Power, Clarity, Old Age and their Fears. Once Clarity comes many shrink from power because of its enormous weight, its light, its presence. It is the responsibility of Power that bends people out of normalcy into the extraordinary, and being ordinary is an illness of the soul embraced my one’s fears…

Everything in Life boils down to a question of Life or Death, one of my Grandfather's taught me.” – Gregory E. Woods

Earth Wisdom

“The Earth is the Mother of all people, and all people should have equal rights upon it. You might as well expect the river to run backward as that any man who was born a free man should be contented when penned up and denied liberty to go where he pleases.” - Chief Joseph, Nez Perce

“There is no death. Only a change of worlds.”
- Chief Seattle

“We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren and children yet to be born. We must protect the forests for those who can't speak for themselves such as the birds, animals, fish and trees.”
- Qwatsinas (Hereditary Chief Edward Moody),

EARTH MEDICINE is the same as yesterday

“Going back to the Earth can't happen without guidance. It has become a cliché. Going back to Mother Earth is unrealistic to a people who are mere spectators. Meteorologists rely on machines to predict weather and the habit of touching the Earth, and her forces is antiquated in the modern mind. The times are requiring a new medicine; an approach that somehow balances the demands of living, and being present with the sacred elements that hold worlds together.

These are my words. Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories”

Ghandi said, "Better to be violent if there is violence in our hearts than to put on the cloak of non-violence to cover impotence." Ghandi also said, "I object to violence because when it appears to do good the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent."

TAMALA JONES, an affirming presence

“There is a line the eye can follow into the circular form of the essence of a woman's beauty. If the travel comes to a dead stop, or moves along easily there is no law that says either path has to end. Beauty draws the eye into formlessness.  Formlessness is within itself, and detached from form, but its very formlessness is a shape we perceive within the most beautiful parts of our women.  The mystery of a woman is not shaped by the men who love, admire, or want them.  It is a formless substance fashioned by the women who carry within their wombs a mystery designed to hold worlds together.  That elusive quality comes from the stars and the Earth.”  -Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories

“Everything Tamala Jones appears in and anything she is a part of is illuminated.”

AFFIRMATIONS part 1

We have all evolved over our lifetimes into something a bit outside of the norm by necessity. I imagine that all of you, like myself, have had profound challenges becoming your true Self, and finding your voices especially hard in these times of conformity. So I want to honor that process, and encourage you to stay focused on the paths you are upon, and continue to evolve empowering others as you grow, thus changing the perception and understanding of the world by your life’s lived, and be an example to the weak, and unsure of foot. These are my words.” - Gregory E. Woods, (Dawn Wolf), Keeper of Stories

Jesus said, "Behold, Father, she wanders the earth pursued by evil. Far from thy Breath she is going astray. She is trying to flee bitter Chaos, and does not know how she is to escape. Send me forth, O Father, therefore, and I, bearing the seal shall descend and wander all Aeons through, all mysteries reveal. I shall manifest the forms of the gods and teach the secrets of the holy way..." (Christian Naassene Psalms).

The Friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing or healing, & face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a Friend who cares.” –Joe Gonzales (Bear Warrior)

TRUTHS

Jenny Matin is freedom

“The reality is that we see things not the way they are but the way we are. And the more untruthful (dishonest) we are with ourselves, the more we will distort all other truth, including God's truth, to make it match our perception of reality and to have it say what we want it to say. In other words we exchange the truth for a lie.” – Jenny Matin

“There are times a lie takes on a different form, and how it looks changes as one's perception of the lie, or the situation needing a lie appears.” – Gregory E. Woods

SELF IDENTITY

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." ~Henry David Thoreau

"Allow love to unfold...it is the answer.” – Marian Linda Tucker
