Parable of the Ten Virgins


Narrative

In the Parable of the Ten Virgins, Jesus tells a story about a party of virgins, perhaps bridesmaids^[2] or torchbearers for a procession,^[3] chosen to participate in a wedding. Each of the ten virgins is carrying a lamp or torch^[3] as they await the coming of the bridegroom, which they expect at some time during the night. Five of the virgins are wise and have brought oil for their lamps. Five are foolish and have only brought their lamps.

At midnight, all the virgins hear the call to come out to meet the bridegroom. Realising their lamps have gone out, the foolish virgins ask the wise ones for oil, but they refuse, saying that there will certainly not (Greek ou mē)^[4] be enough for them to share. While the foolish virgins are away trying to get more oil, the bridegroom arrives. The wise virgins then accompany him to the celebration. The others arrive too late and are excluded.

"Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, "Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!" Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the wise, "Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out." But the wise answered, saying, "What if there isn't enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves." While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us." But he answered, "Most certainly I tell you, I don't know you." Interpretations

The parable is one of a sequence of responses to a question in Matthew 24:3:

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Other parables in this sequence include the parable of the budding fig tree (Matthew 24:32–35) and the parable of the Faithful Servant (Matthew 24:42–51). The parable of the Ten Virgins reinforces the call for readiness in the face of the uncertain time of this second "coming."^[2] It has been described as a "watching parable."^[5] Like the parable of the Lost Coin, it is a parable about women which immediately follows, and makes the same point as, a preceding parable about men.^[6]

In this parable, Jesus Christ is the bridegroom,^[2][5] echoing the Old Testament image of God as the bridegroom in Jeremiah 2:2 and similar passages.^[2] The awaited event is the Second Coming of Christ.^[2][5] R. T. France writes that the parable is "a warning addressed specifically to those inside the professing church who are not to assume that their future is unconditionally assured."^[2]

The parable does not criticise the virgins for sleeping, since both groups do that,^[3] but for being unprepared. It is not clear exactly what form this lack of preparation takes: the foolish virgins may have taken insufficient oil or, if they light their lamps or torches for the first time when the bridegroom arrives (having slept through the previous hours of darkness), they may have brought no oil at all^[4] (it is also unclear as to whether the foolish virgins succeed in purchasing any oil that night:^[7] most shops would not have been open^[8][9]).

The parable is not written in praise of virginity,^[5] and indeed Louis of Granada, in his The Sinner's Guide of 1555, writes "No one makes intercession with the Bridegroom for the five foolish virgins who, after despising the pleasures of the flesh and stifling in their hearts the fire of concupiscence, nay, after observing the great counsel of virginity, neglected the precept of humility and became inflated with pride on account of their virginity."^[10]

Spencer W. Kimball gave an LDS perspective on the difference between the wise and the foolish virgins, and why they could not share the oil: "This was not selfishness or unkindness. The kind of oil that is needed to illuminate the way and light up the darkness is not shareable. How can one share obedience to the principle of tithing; a mind at peace from righteous living; an accumulation of knowledge? How can one share faith or testimony? How can one share attitudes or chastity.... Each must obtain that kind of oil for himself.... In the parable, oil can be purchased at the market. In our lives the oil of preparedness is accumulated drop by drop in righteous living."^[11][12]

WE NEED EACH OTHER!

How did Jesus and the Hebrews become WHITE?

How did the Hebrews turn White? Of course they didn't really; just in the imaginations, and then the histories of White people. Who for probably practical reasons, decided that Hebrews, and also the Blacks who originally lived in the Country's that they took over, should all become White for posterity's sake.

Seeing as how it only takes three generations to turn a Black person into a White person (and visa versa). No doubt there came a time when as Europe's formerly bi-racial populations, became more homogeneously White, White people decided that they could no longer acknowledge that all that they knew and had, was derived from the minds and labors of Black people - even down to their religious beliefs. The logic no doubt being that Whites could not progress to their full potential, if they were always looking up to Blacks, as the personification of knowledge and wisdom. So a change had to be made, and at some point, by somebody, that change began.

Of course, we have no way of knowing when this process of Whitinizing Blacks began, or who did it, or where it was first done. But we do have some materials by which we can track the process, somewhat.

But first, let us go back to see what Hebrews REALLY looked like. The earliest authentic pictures of real Hebrews that we have, date back to before Christ. They are Assyrian relief's showing Hebrews, and others that they conquered, in pictorial scenes detailing the battles fought, with associated text. These relief's decorated Assyrian palaces, and were no doubt used to gloat over their conquest of the Hebrews and others. Here we are using pictures of: Assyrian King Shalmaneser IIIs "Black Obelisk" (858 B.C.). Assyrian king Tiglath-pilesar III’s relief's of his conquest of a city near the Sea of Galilee (730 B.C.). Assyrian King Sennacherib’s relief's of the conquest of the Judean City of Lachish (701 B.C.). The four pictures below, are from those Assyrian relief's. (These relief's are stored in the British Museum, London England)... 

It is worth mentioning, that the Hebrews were just as literate, and just as artistic as the other Black civilizations around them. The reason that we have to depend on outside sources for pictures of them, is because Whites destroyed all that the Hebrews ever created. Even down to the very religious writings that they claim to worship by. That fact is that ALL Hebrew writings, even the SEPTUAGINT {the original Bible}, which was only roughly Hebrew (it was made for the Greek King of Egypt, Ptolemy II (Philadelphus) in 282-246 B.C.), has been destroyed. Everything except for the "Dead Sea Scrolls" which were found in 1947, in Qumran, a village situated about twenty miles east of Jerusalem. The Scrolls are under the joint custody of the Catholic Church and the Israelis. The translated contents of those Scrolls has never been made public, and probably never will be - no doubt the differences in teachings and facts would be irreconcilable.  (A few inconsequential snippets have been made public - the entire Scrolls is a huge work, which contains the entire old Testament plus many other works).

Why wasn't the material in these pages destroyed? Because after it's fall, Assyria came under the control of the Persian Empire, which was itself a Black Empire. It then came under the control of Greeks, who were at that time, seeking to merge with the Black Persians, not in denying that they were Black people. Then Assyria again came under Persian control, and then finally under the control of the original Black Arabs. So at the time when Whites were destroying vestiges of Black history, they had no access to the Assyrian artifacts.

But at those times when Whites did have control of an area, they seem to have been very through in destroying all vestiges of the former Black inhabitants; there is nothing left to suggest that Carthage was a Black city, Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley civilizations are some of the oldest known, yet very little is left - next to nothing in the Indus valley. Ancient Anatolia (Turkey), was home to many great and famous civilizations, but very little has been found there. The Egyptian artifacts, of which there are many, were mostly recovered in modern times, when Whites rather than simply destroy, instead modify artifacts; sometimes just by breaking the noses off, in order to make them look like White people, and then proudly display them as proof of the White mans greatness.

The Khazars, a Turkish tribe who had established a Kingdom in the Caucasus region, and converted to Judaism in the 8th century A.D. Must have seen the doings of the Romans and Greeks, and seen it as an opportunity for them to take over the Hebrew identity, and thus control of the orthodox branch of the Hebrew religion - which indeed they did. They logically thinking that if Jesus can be White, why not then, the entire Hebrew nation - which was by then a diaspora anyway. The Islamist side-stepped the entire issue by forbidding imagery of any kind.

New Testament

The New Testament speaks of karma and resurrection in the same breaths. The words, as I recall are 'as so above so below...' 

In many churches I've learned from, or in Sunday school the subjects of multiple lives, reincarnation, and karma were either avoided, or explained away by scriptures like the one that said there is only one death, or that Jesus died for our sins. Maybe he did, but his three days after crucifiction took him to hell where he restored life to some of the dead. The temptation, if you are a thinker, or rebellious, is to lash out against religious celebrations this time of year. What I've found at the center of these people (myself included) is a specific anger against something, or someone that contradicted the very tenets of the religion espoused. In very young children it is particularly painful. In adults that hurt can hurtle into space as if it were a comet, or space debris doing a lot of damage to explorers. Without discernment many get hurt from the hurts to our intellect, our spirit, our sense of purpose which may have been damaged in the onslaught that made many of us rebel against the religion of the holidays. However it happened we are responsible for the pieces, picking up the pieces and routing out a journey back to the source of our pain even if the pain came from studying the major questions of one's religion in a library. It is pain. 

I can tell you it is of paramount importance to do this healing work, but I cannot tell you how to do it. I can start with intent. That has to change. Something has to prick your spirit, stir your conscience into re-thinking your life. For me it was my children. They were very young. In fact, Janvier, my first born was young enough not to be in school when I began a process to eradicate the evidence of Christmas in my household. Intellectually, it was grueling because I engaged people in my church. I learned Christians are resistant to changing the story with facts, and the thought of reexamining their practices of belief is a slap against God, they feel. My research was thorough. Its intensity led me to a kind of missionary campaign for the minds of my children. 

Over time, I believe Janvier may have been between 4 and 6, understood my lectures.  One fine day after listening to me again explaining why this was that and that was so, and no Christmas tree she looked up at me and said, "That's fine, Daddy. But, I want Christmas, and Santa Claus!" 

I was done.

I called Mommy. Mommy simply said, "Bring 'em over here. Just bring them over here." And that was that. My children, no thanks to me, have many wonderful memories of Christmas at their grandparents' houses. At the time they had two sets of grandparents, and two sets of great-grandparents. All of my money went to keep a roof over our heads and food in our tummies. I was never able to afford gifts. Plus, the season and its obligations never entered my mind until a week or so before Christmas. My family was generous. They made sure the children had gifts every year. For me these words were the greatest dare of my young life. Because I tried words and teachings on the way others tried on clothes I had to find out how, and if words were true to their word and projections. At the time I did not know the words came from Knowing. I did not know a thing about that perception of Life, or of how it would one day penetrate my center of Being. I understood and embraced Belief, and feeling that way I recall placing the body of the words, "... he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these shall he do..." into my own body, and succeeded in changing the world!

When Jesus ended that phrase with "... because I go to my Father..." it put me into the mindset I had when my parents left us alone in the house for hours, or all day with instructions, tasks and admonishments. The time spent wherever they went was time to do what was told, and more because freedom and trust were stimuli for me, and the way I thought about things.

Ingesting those words required a simple technique of breath, and form to absorb the words from formlessness into the formlessness within my physical body, and the mystery of my mind and its labyrinths. It began, as all things begin, with an altar. The altar was the space around and within me. I could see the space. It was sacred. It was safe, and accessible. Into that space, wherever I was, the words were spoken or read into the inner space of Being over an extended period of days that could easily become years in such a way they became part of me, and became actions, or a state of mind. These words of Jesus made timid many a person, but it pulled me into a vortex I've yet to exit from.

The depth of initiations lay heavily upon the words of a man's mouth. It was the same with Jesus. Spoken plainly the words, the sacred words, will attract youth to dare themselves away from mere existence into the challenging light of becoming more than one's teachers. Entering into the spheres of Creation to co-create is the fearful thing many shied away from when they read Jesus' words, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the Father." - Gregory E. I don't think this subject was handled well. Some good points were made, but it slid down a slope the way it will tend to because the line of questioning on the subject comes from a defensive place on both sides of the questions about homosexuality. Adopted or forced into an African religion (Christianity) that appears not as itself, but as a Western European production, and a tool towards a nefarious end has changed the Book, and allowed Native people to forget the spirit of their traditions, and sever the relationship each collective of people (tribes) cherished with the Earth they found themselves living upon until the rigidity of law, and judgement replaced balance. 

Much favor leaned towards the Gay movement not over the right or the wrong of homosexuality, but on the merits of logic and law. Gay activists found out what Native leaders, who spoke for and fought for their People during the wars of the Americas, and what the African slaves, and freedom fighters eventually discovered, learned and employed. You could not appeal to the heart of the whites the way you could with your relatives. Most of the whites, it seemed to us, could not and did not become relatives, in their hearts, of the People. They were antagonistic, and were takers. The world did not look to them the way it looked to the People. Their eyes made it impossible to see the souls of the People, and understand where homosexuals in many (not all) of our tribes stood in our estimation. This discovery led to a readjustment of approach, and the social advancements of Red and Black movements were won on the merits of law, and logic at the highest level, the Supreme Court.

The Church has positioned itself in a dangerous position and relied on the advancement of time to ease the memories, and allow half truths to marinate in the thinking, and emotions of their followers. The Church does not and apparently cannot lead its followers to study what Jesus studied or know that Jesus was an initiated man, or how that came to be in place, and ignored by popular teaching. Conquerors used sex as a weapon. Rape and sodomy are two of the most damaging of tools employed in conquest, and the Church, the states of Europe, the Arabs employed these tactics. The spirit of the acts has run amok, and across the globe victims have been seeking validation from their churches and mosques and their synagogues and not been receiving it. They were judged, and judged harshly by the Books, the Holy Books. 

Beyond, and before the entrance of the Europeans, whom we love to blame for things, the communities of people seeking solace from these ravages found tiny respite with others like them, and apparently did the most natural of things. They built communities. They had to because we are all social creatures in need of each other. We like to touch. We have to touch soul to soul. We need each other, and need to be understood, felt, and seen!

The Church is not set up to validate at the Christ-level, yet. The spirituality required of people to balance these elements, and other unmentioned parts of this complex story is not part of Belief, and thus not part of significant parts of the Church, the Mosque, or the Synagogue! But this level of spirituality and power is integral to Knowing. There is a stark and distinct difference in the timbre of spirits within a person immersed in Belief and one immersed in Knowing. 

There are a few other things to bring into this equation, but I know from experience my last paragraph went too far away from what is considered Common Knowledge.

On, the name of the Old dying Sun-God, West the place, and Setting Down, the action, or the Sun Setting in the late Evening!!!

Thus we have 3 names: Sol-Om-On. 3 Movable Functions: Rising (up), Balancing (still), Setting (down) and three places: East-South-West.

The life of Solomon is the story of Pharoah Amenhotep III...But the science behind Solomon is Sun Worship....His Throne was the "Sky"...When Jesus was supposed to inherit the throne of Solomon, It Was To Take His Place In The Sky...& his principle, which mimicks "Horus" was supposed to rule over all lands.

Once again, King Solomon never existed....

FORMLESS TO FORM

Friday's Sermon- Whenever your priorities are mixed up, your life will be mixed up. Simply put - when you make things your top priority rather than God, you're placing your focus on the wrong thing. Understand this - nothing wrong with things but things should never become your god.

In other words our focus should be on formlessness rather than form? That is the how things come to be here. It is from formlessness to form Adam and Eve made their transition into this world, and it is the same process babies go through to find grounding in this world.

I know most American parents give their children away to schools uninterested in this process, and I understand why and how it is difficult for many to simply respect this process in this frantic culture. There is one educational system of teaching children that monitors the way a child's spirit settles into this world. They have simple techniques. It is a marvelous and respectful way to receive a child in the first five years of a child's presence on Earth, our Mother. There is supposed to be a reciprocal relationship between Black men and women. Without an ability to comprehend, and act out the subtle art of merging the process of vulnerability, and other powers it all remains an ideal, a dream and a recollection of what once was a spiritual reality, and a fact of life! 

I understand the concepts of Kingship, and the realms of the Queen, as do many others, but it is out of reach because of the stories we carry and tell ourselves and each other by action, thought, and assimilation. Unlearning, forgiving, and venturing into the underworld of the source of our tragedies are our deepest fears. That fact is the bane of our existence. We don't collectively, or individually have the fortitude, integrity, training, intent, or the impeccability of Jesus to walk into the underworld and emerge renewed. We are afraid of the internal life.

The reminders of Kingship, and the realms of the essence of royalty, and divinity for a Black man and a Black woman are missing the spiritual, cultural, and emotional connection to the African tribes each of us come from. Being Black White People, and accepted by whites has taken precedence. To arise from this morass takes what? How can that happen?

Elegant women of our dreams are the dreams we ascend to. In the flesh we subscribe to our roles, step into the best of ourselves, or shrink before the reality of Presence. How we measure ourselves is in our estimation of value, and what we see as belief in powers at our disposal we have within us. Elegance leaves awe to the senses from a distance. In the presence of an elegant man or woman the weakest miss the opportunity to engage in conversation and the exchange of magic in the moment listening to what is not up to snuff about themselves. It is selfish to be so self-consumed with doubt in the presence of greatness. The work you should have done you didn't so how could you be escorted to the same ball Cinderella attended?

You can't.

If, by chance it happens, and you are at the ball you will arrive at the ball fitting in by the way you look, and present yourself, but you will be the dark troubled soul cowering within hearing only the voices of a cruel step-mother in your ears.

Jesus said, "It is not what goes into a man that corrupts, but what comes out of a man that corrupts."

Whoa! I have to say, "Right on!" This is a very well thought out response she wrote. She nailed it to the proverbial cross with accuracy the inconsistencies of her critics. It is on par with the story of Jesus' response to the men who waited until some man had his nut, and the Pharisees took the woman from his bed to be accused, and judged by Jesus, and later, they hoped, to be stoned by them for committing adultery. Her words, "I’m sorry, but I just have to address all the …people… that consider “having a child out of wedlock” a “sin.” Having fornication is the sin, people." are comparable to Jesus' words, "... Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

This is a powerful exchange. The depth of this young woman, Christine Vest, is remarkable. The other words she used speak to the heart of the matter further emphasizes the powers of She-Who-Bears-Children.

The Story

Let's Talk Universal Spirituality! 

Religion is Sexual…The Christian religion begins with a virgin who gets pregnant, outside of marriage, something the religion itself dogmatically forbids. Merry Christmas!

From the huge child molestation scandal that has racked the Catholic church to sex scandals by Protestant preachers from Jimmy Swaggart to Ted Haggard (former president of the National Association of Evangelicals and a former ORU college mate of mine), it seems that more than ever, the story of sexuality and Christianity has become a case of “Do as I say, not as I do.” Why the proliferation of sexual misbehavior among “holiness people,” and especially among ministers?

The Reality show, "LA Preachers" has raised the subject of sex, "sin" humanity and indeed reality in a way that has people considerably interested in discussing the delicate subject anew.

In religious circles, human sexuality, especially homosexuality is a profoundly delicate and passionately avoided taboo. Christian religion is subtly built around sexuality and sexism. After all, it begins with God supposedly impregnating a teenage virgin already pledged to, presumably a much older man. You would think God would have chosen an uncommitted, slightly older woman.

From the outset of our cherished religion, the God we are taught to revere and worship, all but breaks up a home and commits a form of adultery. Adultery is one of the foremost sins banned by the Ten Commandments, so is this an act of holy hypocrisy? If so, it was perhaps the First Hypocrisy in a landscape littered with faith leaders and “fathers” who professed sexual purity in public only to engage in lewd and lascivious acts behind closed doors…until they were found out.

Christian theology teaches that Jesus bore our sins, actually becoming sin while not necessarily sinning, and yet the Holy Spirit is said to have impregnated Mary while she was betrothed to another man. How this actually took place remains a mystery we are expected to accept by faith. We can either assume it to have been “spiritual insemination” or that somehow the third member of the Trinity actually had physical intimacy with a 12, or 13 year old girl. Today, that would be considered statutory rape. The Holy Spirit would have to be arrested and prosecuted for such a crime. The thought seems preposterous indeed. Imagine the prep walk, the plea, the press conference: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Mary…” And then we wonder why our subculture has such a preoccupation—a forbidden yet irresistible fascination—with sexuality and the sexual act. It’s not a mystery. The Christian religion begins with a sex act that we have spiritualized and sanctified as holy and even wholesome. Our salvation is tied to it.

Christianity, like most religions, is a fertility religion founded on the idea of the sacredness of life, beginning with its procreation and followed by its consecration and preservation. Fertility religions emphasize the importance of life and its origins, beginning with human genesis, (genetics) sexual or spiritual. Both were revered as the beginnings of life. From the start of the human race there has been a preoccupation with how we got here and where we go when we leave. Since life comes through male and female conjugal relations, our first reverence and forms of worship revolved around sex and its attributes.

We are taught that we Christians are God’s spiritual seed and that we should be randomly scattered over the planet in order to extend God’s family on earth. Millions, particularly our Catholic family, even call Christ the Immaculate Conception. And even though Mary had at least six more children (presumably by Joseph), she is still revered and worshiped as a Virgin. Did her many sexual acts with her husband in later years simply not count, or would we rather ignore them? Our entire Christmas holiday (holy day) revolves around a pregnant virgin chosen by God to be the mother of Christ if not of Christianity itself. Are we missing something here?

It makes an appearance as the Emperor in Tarot and the Emperor is astrologically connected to the sign of ARIES. The number 4 is also the sacred number of the Orisha of Thunder, Lightning and Fire......King SHANGO has fire in his mouth. With this masculine energy, we are able to put FORM and ORDER to our DREAMS with passion.

Interesting that 4 also has a feminine touch. It is the 4th Chakra which is the HEART Chakra. When it is balanced, we experience AGAPE LOVE. The number 4 also makes an appearance as the DEER in Medicine Cards. And the Deer gifts us gentleness.
