ZINGOMA!

"The music you created within me is in your design left within me by each impression made, each touch, every look into my eyes and each shared moment together or apart..." ~ Gregory

A Love Story Reaching Out, Within!

Beyond words.

Beyond words is the point of mystery.

Soft light in an old kitchen would begin a review of what elements are in place not to disturb the tranquility of space between what is serene and beautiful to behold and what is subject to the sense of being present in a moment filled with etheric qualities. How one misses the point where elements fly into a room to mystify an elemental science to open eyes to what within is important to know about a single woman in a room flooded by light is to connect with an element of one's internal being that struggles to not reveal its form when lust and desire overcomes a man's senses.

It is a quiet force taking us back and forth between sensations not unlike reverence when you get down into what moves our souls thus in the presences of beauty beyond words. It is a deep mysterious thing beyond words that thrust Life into Earth, into our formlessness, and stirred the visions in quests to remember our before. It is all beyond words. Is it not? If not, then I didn't know you well enough because we lost the connection, the holy connection that drew me to you through the space of eternity still a part of your soul I love so much.

I Know. I remember. It still Is.

I don’t know what it is about you. Maybe it’s the way nothing else matters when we’re talking, or how you make me smile more than anyone else has. It could be the way you say the right thing at the right time. But whatever it is, I just want you to know that it means everything to me.

NAKED GLORIES

older Black woman naked in the wind

"There is something glorious about a woman's body that transcends every limitation placed upon the perception of a woman's body upon the senses. This has everything to do with a man's manhood. A woman's naked body explodes upon the canvas of complex reasoning and unfettered imaginations that sees the possibilities a woman's nakedness explores within the thoughts of her admirers, and those who crave the touch of her body. Culturally held morality stations sentries throughout our bodies, our essence, our sense of being connected to something beyond what we touch, and within the grasp of what we feed upon and feel is attainable in a woman's soul. Her naked body dares us to either transcend or disregard the taboos.

Woman's nudity is powerful. It is a powerful way to attract and express many things in anger, mysteriously, or it is simple prayers whispered in the hallowed chambers of the hearts we have within our bodies that love and embrace all aspects of Beauty. A woman's nakedness storms into the sensors within a man's body and releases the common holdings of crudeness many times and for a segment of men awash with prayers and supplication the face and the hand of God is touched from the inside outside of self. A naked woman is a wonderful concept to physically hold and embrace lovingly conscious of the higher dimensions of the mysterious workings within the who of her powers, and the why of her existence."

letter of a thought towards Zingoma

"... exquisite, but fragile beauty has its place within the soul. Who will protect it? At the least, who will respect its place, and beyond that level of awareness who will cherish fragile beauty and find ways to honor it above the cruel intentions of people who are destroyers. By nature the fragile entombed within beauty is strong, becomes strong, is desperately weak, or finds strength in its identity the way it is preserved, understood, held, or perceived.

Is frailty precious? Does its value sustain its existence, or fear of losing make it more special? It is much like loving a person who cannot except love for themselves from one who loves the 'who' of their essence. This relationship between the strength of beauty and the fragility of essence is the tension between Life and Death. It is the link between existence and knowing to live. It is frailty, strength, beauty and value holding inner worlds together. If you respect anything respect this teaching!"

IN BEYOND

"Beyond romance divinity, beyond awe stillness of spirit, beyond self others, beyond imagination magic..." - Dawn Wolf Keeper of Stories
 April 22, 2013

symbol of Love over the Womb

"Beyond romance divinity. Beyond awe stillness of spirit. Beyond self others. Beyond imagination magic. These revelations I remember as a father. I remember learning these things after seeing them. The whole of Creation was in each moment of pregnancy. No one could convey, or translate all of what pregnancy is until it is internalized and becomes part of your body, your spirit and who you are.

As a man, of course, pregnancy is another form of magic and mysteries. Beyond this reaction to the sight of presence in a pregnant mother who is illuminated are the stars twinkling in the vastness of space above us and within us recollecting the ancients from the circles we learn and come from!

Somehow, as fathers, these things come together as knowledge and insight into the mysteries of the new born who came from and between his or her parents. These words are my recollections of holding the inexplicable wonder and joy of new life. Thank you, Creator, for sharing this picture, this form of divinity, and a glimpse into the possibility of a Sacred Woman!"  - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 5.31.14

to tell the truth!

Temptation comes from the place you feel vulnerable or unable to restrain yourself.  It came to me you were meant for a place to conceive a new dream for me.  I've carried this idea of you showering since I left the apartment today, and I wasn't going to admit it, but I must tell you I love you, and why.

I deeply resent your numerous inconsistencies.  There live the person within you that loves and creates conflict. One of them is always angry, and any light shed on your craziness shuts you down, and you simmer dangerously close to rage. The other thing about that state of being is mean and divisive. It has killed me many times. Your scheme to sell our son while you were pregnant. The idea of denying my paternity while you were pregnant was itching within you until you worked to confront me with all of your rage you could not define or control. You think I am meant to take everything you dish out from the rage and the disappointment of your youth, or upbringing, and stamped out dreams.

In the transfer of touch many things came to me from you, and the way, the powerful way you were meant to create and receive love was clear and in front of my mind's eye. My spirits' sense of who you are and what your authentic self looked like as a young woman and now as an older one are only different by the energy you feed more than the life giving one I needed from you to birth myself, and you needed to touch and explore the deep inner sanctum of your design.

I love you, but the depth of it was scorned, I learned, by the training you received in your formative years. I suffered deeply from the brute force of it, and was healed by it when you were clear and your pussy was safe and warm to return to. But you don't understand any of that. I do. Your son suffers from it now, and you won't recognize it. It is killing him and destroying your relationship with him the way you berate him and kill his dream of college with rage and inconsistencies.

He is my son too. You needed and wanted me to seed your eggs. It was my penis, my manhood you craved and needed to fulfill your womb, your pussy, your heart.  I was the man, the only man you loved and wanted to father your children, and I was able to fulfill that primal need willingly. But what man has the strength to receive such brutal blows to the heart of his Medicine, the core of his manhood, and the pride of manhood on a yearly basis as you dished shit out with accuracy and rage. It was unreasonable, but that was your other person living in you.

I love you for every reason I've told you over the past 30 years. I can't add anymore. Nor, can I fully explain why knowing your patterns. I still wait for your storm to pass for those few weeks of a year to feel the joy of reciprocated love from  you, long conversations with you, walks, if we can, and the remote chance and privilege to share a bed. Whether we make love or not is secondary to the intimacy, and the time to allow you to be yourself.  The natural and beautiful you have held an enchantment over me for decades. It is a light, your light you can’t stand with. I love light, but it causes serious things in you that terrify me.

You complain about the weight you've gained and the forms your body has taken on continue to stir my blood because it is and always has been the Goddess form within you I cherished. I love your body, and what it looks like naked. The Goddess within you is you. It is the you; the form of the songs I wait for with a Hunter's patience to see, to touch.  I love you deeply beyond the pain you inflict without consideration on people who adore you.  You have so many hurts. That is not what drove me away from you, my wife.

I learned you will eventually lash out when you are adored  cherished and loved in ever growing ways. It is a consistent trait that has left you alone with your ghosts, and unreasonableness, but still I wait for those glimmers of sun's rays, the small chance I might be able to sit close to you in a chair, at an assembly, a church; anywhere.  Anyway, I love you!

Self-Destructive By Design

African American model Amber DeLise walking the shore line.
ONE

“When your 'dream come true', your Beloved sends you away multiple times does that mean something? Time doesn't heal all wounds. How does, or does a soul recover from that? If her love and spirit, ever a part of your essence, is as alive as the first day what counsel is there for the heart still singing her songs? If love is eternal where it lives what does it become without reciprocation?” - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 12.21.12

TWO

There is a poster that reads, "We've raised enough niggas and thugs time to raise some kings!"

One woman said aloud, "Do they know how?"

I thought a moment and said, "By your question, which I take seriously, I can easily assume the onus is upon other people to raise better children. I've learned how to raise 'good' children who are above average now adults living with their own integrity because of how I was parented, and I enjoy sharing what I know, but this is not an American preoccupation. It should be but culturally we are not advancing in the art of developing children. We are more into warehousing and categorizing our children. Development is too deep an art in our country, it seems, and to many Americans outside of their priorities and belief systems."

Crow Woman

THREE

There is a story out about a Black girl who quickly and viciously beat a girl and became an insight celebrity because someone recorded it and posted it online. The police are part of this girl's life because another girl apparently committed suicide as a result of the beating. To date what I've read there are no particulars, but the girl who beat the other girl is letting her 20,000 Twitter followers know about how "... she don't give a fuck!"

No need to comment on this story. It is very much an American pastime and it is deeply embedded in Black culture and applauded.  Only thing that should be done is corrective, but if a people and a person are uninterested in changing or maturing what can you do? If someone wants to die there is little I will do for them. What can you do? To want to die is to want nothing. This girl and millions like her seek nothing, and to seek nothing is to seek death which, is the one thing people like her are typically afraid of, and don't understand in terms, and agreements of relationship.

This is a warrior's stance I am speaking from and the crudeness that celebrates this behavior calls itself a nigger and defends that assertion wholeheartedly  A healer of any race, or tribe and discipline is and will always be baffled by the nigger mentality because it devours itself. There are so many healing tools and healing modalities available to this girl, her family and community and to her people, and niggers, but if not so inclined a healer worthy of his/her craft has no choice but to leave her and them to die unto and within themselves. ~ Gregory E. the Dream of Intimacy

Sacred Dreams

Sexual Intimacy and Its Connection with Aural Energy

If everything goes well & sex is natural & flowing, it is a beautiful experience because you can have a glimpse of the second through it. If sex goes really very deep, so that you forget yourself completely in it, you can even have a glimpse of third through it. And if the sex becomes a totally orgasmic experience you can even have a glimpse of the fourth, Turiya the beyond through it.” ~ Osho

Sexuality is closely associated to spirituality in many ways. Although the topic of sex arouses a strong reaction and is often viewed as an obstacle on the path of spiritual development due to the wild nature of sexual energy. Sexual energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe, it opens our heart to love, and enable us to experience deep meditative states and mystical bliss.
Many wise traditions consider the peak moment of sexual energy the death of the ego. When somebody experiences intimacy and reaches orgasm, we feel vulnerable, defenseless, carefree and there is a sense of timelessness. These are the characteristics and true nature of our spirit. Living your life with this level of intimacy would allow the creative energy of the universe to merge with your spirit. Wouldn’t that make it important to be aware with who you share this intimacy with?
There is nothing casual about it We have evolved both in terms of our thinking and approach towards life. The freedom to choose a sexual partner without any hesitation has also increased. But there is nothing such as casual or meaningless sex. When we get intimate with anybody we tend to receive their positivity or negativity and unknowingly incorporate it in our everyday lives.

Even if we do not meet the other person ever again, or if we do have a continuous physical intimacy with our partner, each time we get into the act, we receive a part of their energy into our aura and leave a part of ours into theirs. So each time we have sex, we create an energy cord with our partner.
Their thoughts, feelings, desires, etc., are left as impressions in our aura, which unless cleansed, stays with us. If the same is done under the influence of alcohol, we lower our natural protective field, which further exposes us to negative & discordant energies. If we have sex with a positive person, we are bound to receive her/his positivity and vice-a-versa with a negative person.

Jeffery Armstrong in his article, The Ancient Art and Science of Sexual Healing says, “..what could be accomplished by bringing the male and the female body together. The answer to this question is physical, biological, vital, mental, emotional, and spiritual. And since our bodies share characteristics with the animal realm, it is obviously possible for us to be pulled in both an upward and downward direction through our endowment of energies.”

TO TELL THE KISS

Bolivian model Gaylecita Dulce said
'In one kiss you'll know everything I haven't said!'
June 25, 2015

Using Pablo Neruda's words in any of three Romantic languages is a powerful experience promised. Once promised as a recipient there are obligations that transcend the moment's magic into a future together, if that inspiration is the women's intent?

""En un beso, sabras todo lo que no he dicho." or " Dans un baiser , vous saurez tout ce que je ne l'ai pas dit." or "In one kiss, you'll know everything I haven't said."

This was my reaction the one time I experienced such a moment as a gift to my soul. A child came from that relationship; as did enormous bounty and baffling consequences.

But, that is another story. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 7.3.15

Susan Sarandon playing with camera.
Susan Sarandon, the woman and the actress, insists upon being herself. It comes through every public appearance she makes, and each film she is a part of. Not only is that an endearing quality it drives home the point of individuality, not as a selfish immature insistence upon getting one's way, but as a compliment to living, and paying attention to others. ~ Gregory E. The Affects of Belief 2

Reality star - Tiffany Pollard posing. For those who don't recognize her name she is known as New York.

So many relationships, and marriages based on conflict pretend they aren't, deny they are, and manifest it daily the way they relate to, and raise their children, if they have any. It spills into their work, business, play, the way they care for their aging parents, and how they view God. How they think of themselves suffers from contradictions easily eradicated by self-examination, and intent. But, self-analysis frightens the paradigm. It also frightens the relationship with conflict, and so the patterns continue to be treated as normal, or fall under the cliches:

"That's how we do!"
"I love my Boo. We gotta fight to stay together!" and so forth and so on ya' dig? - Gregory E. Woods 10.13.13

The famous shooter Annie Oakley is reputed to have said, "I ain't afraid to love a man. I ain't afraid to shoot him either." She is just like the main character in the movie, Colombiana. Fear and love and the need for and the need to love plays against each other within her reasoning and her emotions. Many live this way. It is how they conduct their emotions to respond in relationships: imbalanced between their need to love, incapacity to intelligently love, and their conquering fears. It is a Trick Bag hard to get out of with Denial at the front door keeping it safe from scrutiny. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10.13.13

The pain that only your presence healing,
A grip that my soul ' erodes,
Taking me to extreme madness!

In the distance the thought builds
The nostalgia that to you if i finalises,
Feeling that in me does not destroy
This love, love of such tenderness!

It is so tender that just ended the bitterness,
When your breath reconstructs,
In me the sweet and cream honesty...

Oh sweetness that in my body seethe
The desire for between your beauty

ENCANTAMENTO

“Na tua ausência meu peito dói,
A dor que só a tua presença cura,
Um aperto que minh'alma corrói,
Levando-me a extrema loucura!

60

turning 60
Written by Priya on February 15, 2013

I turned 60 this year and I awoke to the realization that I am now officially “an older” woman” and no matter how I try to reframe my new place in the culture, it is a challenge for me.  Even though I feel the depth and wisdom of my life’s experience, the capacities that I have cultivated over the years, and the internal richness from a long life lived, I am still in a tizzy about it.

It seems politically incorrect these days to talk about the underbelly of things. I find though that not sharing the discomforts and continuing to sweep them under the rug of new age “paradigm shift”,  contributes to the separation that is killing us. So it is within this context that I am opening up the discussion of aging. I am bringing it out into the open for loving acceptance, laughter, crying and connecting.

I have lived an unconventional life without paying much attention to the assumptions of our culture regarding age. Good genes, a healthy lifestyle and a youthful attitude have contributed to my feeling ageless and having that ageless look well into my late fifties. Yet, now I feel this thing called “older” chasing me faster than I can run. I must turn and face it.

It rears up is menacing scowl every day time I am called “Ma’am” by a store clerk.  I flinch deeply and want to cry out “don’t call me that, I am not a Ma’am!” It is an empty adjective for me, a categorization, a defining term that puts me into a separate realm, no longer fitting into the currency of life’s pulse.

Ma’am, turns me into “older”. I don’t feel “older”. Not in that way. I feel all ages. Every age that I have already experienced lives within me. It is like a symphony inside of me, each different age’s flavor an instrument.

Sometimes the trill of the flute floats through the orchestra bursting with the delicate fury of the newly found power of the young child. Sometimes the pounding of drums’ passion bursts forth with the exuberance of the twenty something and sometimes the French horns’ drone signaling the one in her late forties facing lost chances of motherhood. I feel all of this inside of me. What is the word that describes this?  Certainly it is not “old”, nor “aged”.

Ten years of seeing my skin getting more and more wrinkled and lined and crêpey has given me plenty of time to get used to it.  “Ya think?” Well, I am a bit less troubled but I am clearly not over it yet. Will I ever be?

My body’s aging process is relentless. Every day is a reminder speaking to me saying “hey, wake up to your life passing through time! Something is changing! Look!”

The rigors of getting older seem to be as challenging as the rigors of adolescence.

How many thousands of us older women shudder at the thought of seeing our thighs while doing an inverted yoga pose? Or perhaps we no longer wear shorts? Or habitually judge others for wearing bathing suits that we do not dare to? How about making love? Huh? Have you gotten to the place yet where you would rather wear something to bed that is a bit more flattering than your flesh hanging off of your body when you are on top?

You might think all this to be shallow.  However, the physical reminders that I face moment to moment are confronting to the fabric of my being.

They are arrows pointing inward hearkening me to examine myself more deeply.  There are the regrets that I carry of lost dreams, unresolved inner wounds, unfulfilled aspects of my self expression and everything else within that is not yet fulfilled. All of these things are pushing against the” deadline” of my ever more clear end point.

When I was younger, I did not have an experience of this. There was a lot of spaciousness. Endless time into which I could just be. Now as I look at my skin I am reminded of this distinct lack of “forever”. I feel the pressure of the deadline to fulfill these dreams, to let them go, to transform myself, to find peace, to prepare for death.  I question how to stay fully engaged and vital in this world when I feel  weary of my own trials and tribulations. When the culture is changing too quickly for me and there is the mourning of the losses to be done. How can I go one when I hear the constant refrain of “you are too old for that” coming from all directions including from inside myself!

So, there is no more hiding the fact that yes, I am aging. As youthful as I am, as fit as I am, as radiant as I am my body, all of me. Is aging.

And yet, as my flesh diminishes the internal world of my soul journey becomes more vast, rich and vital. Calling out for expression, sharing, contribution, recognition. I wonder how to be seen for this in a world that casts aside wrinkled people as if they were used up. I have been slowly moving towards this moment for ten years. Sometimes standing up to be seen, but mostly hiding behind a thin veneer of resistance. No more hiding now. To do so would be a cruel self-denial.  All of my cultural preconceptions of what is acceptable are challenged and I must reevaluate how I perceive myself.

I remember twenty years ago when my 72 year old aunt, still fresh in the bloom of her new marriage, told me that she caught her reflection in the mirror of a store window one day and was aghast at seeing the image of an old woman. She thought “who is that  “old hag” that is certainly not me! I feel like a young babe.”

How to come to terms with this paradox within an ageist society?

KITCHEN AID

Appreciation 4 Thickness

I associate the kitchen with warmth, familiar and beckoning smells that invite children to supper, and husbands to begin a cozy night with the wife after the meal.  I only have one chapter in my life where I made love more than several times in the kitchen, and the aroma of it, and how our love blossomed between us has merged the intimacy of food, and intercourse. The two are inseparable. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 5.19.13

IT MATTERS

ETERNAL LOVE

It matters because love is important, and how the love of one person shapes your life increases in importance as it evolves from its starting place of 'Hello, and how are you?' to the touching of souls, and sharing of experiences, and spirit. The birth of the parts of me that had not made themselves familiar to me endeared me to you and bound our relationship into timelessness, and necessity despite your dark resistance to it, and what it was creating within the two of us over an expanse of time in our lives that shed light on those around us, the children you carried for us, and the love that developed and married us to the idea of us.

Our lives were bound to be bound, and bound they are in places set by words spoken, deeds done, agreements made, and fears held and powerful enough to tear into, but not sever, a sacred union. There is a spirit amongst things that hold people, and us together at the seams. It speaks to the why of this relationship, and the power of it denied, or affirmed, respected, touched, and understood. - Gregory E. Woods, 5.16.13

CHILDREN

If you look carefully enough the future, its promises and challenges are evident within young people. Prophecies are in their eyes, and prophecies are fulfilled in their lives. They are the circular motion of prayers said, hopes held, and actions running their lives into other things to do for the benefit of self, and others. In short, our children are all children, and our children are the continuation of us who raised, and trained their minds, and spirits. Children give us glimpses into tomorrow. Children are gifts who gift us with new life. - Gregory E. Woods
