Perhaps the illusions of perfection are the glimpses of what is better within us that is parallel an existence alive within the opposite sex? It is the tendency of people to exclaim perfection, and intellectually deny the probability of attaining it. At the same time there is the tendency of men to ascribe perfection to any number of women they glimpse, or see, or know; and too for women to the perfect man extol his virtues endlessly. We pray for perfection until something settles within us and we are aware of the imperfection of trying to envision perfection, and the perils of misjudging self and others trying to be perfect.
Perhaps illusion is the best part of perfection in others, and the work to become better is the beauty of the subject of our admiration, and what the thought of an unattainable woman can inspire within a man to do better, be better and think better centers us on our spiritual paths?
Maybe.
