BREAK UP the pattern

Emma Ink one with nature

Emma Ink one with nature
'One with Nature' has become a trite statement used to deride people connected with Nature who advocate for the environment to be protected. An offshoot of a stubborn will to tame Nature that came with the settlers centuries ago has accompanied a disdain for indigenous practices and ideologies in intimate relationships with the Earth, our Mother to this very day. A whole political party can campaign against 'tree huggers' in one breath and lobby for the logging industry on the grounds that it is economically feasible to keep cutting trees and leveling forests with aplomb.

The white man's perception of sanctity and ownership leads the globe into annihilation and justifies it politically with economics and religion. It is an astounding assessment of value from soul loss while the natural state of being one with Nature is scoffed. The momentum has taken a life of its own. We are in the midst of a prophecy unraveling. Can we alter prophecies? Most think we can't, but we can. What will you do for the sake of others? - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10.13.14
