Don't Sell Esoteric Knowledge!

Don't Sell Out

While watching the movie, 'Indecent Proposal' I was reminded of what money will do to people. Money will break up relationships as well as ruin friendships. For some reason, people will engage in unethical behavior in order to get something. They will provide excuses for their actions and justify their decision. In a real sense, people will take matters into their own hands rather than trusting in the living God. It may seem difficult, but God will test your faith. Through your faith in God, you will become victorious.

In this spiritual journey, you need to know there'll be times when you will be pushed to the edge. You'll be challenged to do what goes contrary to your faith and belief. It's during this time in your life that you will need to lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus. The question is; do you want to do it God's way or your way? If it's your way, there's immediate relief. Pleasure will come quickly. However, there's a price to pay. On the other hand, if you wait on God, what was meant to kill you will strengthen you in your faith. When God shows up, He will give you double for your trouble, open up the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing. This blessing will cause your cup to overflow.

The Bible tells us, "But those that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings likes eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." If you hold out for the Lord, you will blow up from the floor up. However, if you choose to sell out, then destruction will follow you. With God, you are destined for greatness. Think about it the next time you are tempted to sell out your soul for a temporary fix. What's more important, a temporary fix or a permanent life with God? Ask yourself, how strong is your faith? Do you talk about it or do you live it?  Rev. Dr. Sinclair Grey III 1.31.14

"This warning and teaching is applicable in terms of sex also. Money and sex hold hands often. Many men think a dinner will buy them sex, and many women think their sex will buy them security. As is often the case theirs is an inability to adapt to the changes of emotions as well as the financial shifts that occur in complex economies. Further handicapped they lack the depth of knowledge of energies and relationships with divinity are not within their lexicon. What holds other people who subscribe to other ventures, who operate from knowing, and ways of being to get the things and the sex they need?

That is a good question within many questions inherent within my words. The answers may vary, but in pondering the ramifications of actions there are things many people don't have in place. Financial literacy is one, disciplined teaching embedded within their spirits is another, and other factors are missing, and no amount of scriptures spoken can do the spiritual work necessary to make the scriptures viable, and their lives more meaningful in the depths of their being!" - Gregory E. IMAGINE

Birth of a Goddess

Aug. 31, 2013
Re-imaging the Black woman and the African woman is important to social change, and its time is now! If such a thing occurs within white women the most profound of changes would occur, and the circles of reconciliation would swell with white men because their women are the catalyst of their actions, and commitments and endeavors. In a very broad  and specific sense white women changed will change the perspective of white men with power, and in a divine order the trickle down effect will open higher chakras within the planet! - Gregory E. PURE & PERFECT

Kristina Raquel
Oct. 10, 2012
When one thinks someone, or something is pure, or perfect the ideal is said to be too high, and the sense of self too secure in the lofty idea of a state of being higher than the mundane, and trite. There are fears of heights, and fears of depths. It is the heights and the depths that elevates one from existence to living with themselves. Honesty clears the way for the harvest. Recognition leads to seeing. Remembering segues into the present and the presence of wholeness, Life, and knowing who you are, and the why of your existence upon the Earth, our Mother.  Mystery is the field we plow through or walk through leisurely, or in pain discover our fears are our religion; and God, the concept, cannot reach us through the thinking process without the heart songs.

It is one's spirit that sees another's spirit, and it is honesty that loves to clear the way to rebuke a friend or a relative who offends, and repels people. It was a mother who told her son, "Open rebuke is better than secret love." It was a man who said, "Obedience is better than sacrifice." Whole religions and broken men believe the marriage bed is sacred, not to be defiled. Sacred space makes no pleas for creation. It's absence draws attention and creativity comes beckoned by need to develop sacred space. Truth begs for nothing, and to no one, but asks for recognition indifferent to the response because, as the anthem says, "... the truth goes marching on!"

The indifference of the warrior is non-attachment to outcomes, or consequences. The fear of the ordinary person is attached to things, and perceived outcomes, and his or her incapacity to carry the weight of consequences, or the undeveloped capacity to embrace living with the power of relationship with one's own death. It is a mysterious thing being detached and a part of the mysterious flow of life. Being depressed and unsure is as powerful a teacher as confidence, and daring. Aren't these wonderful places to travel to and through as life courses through your body, and ideas come, grow and go according to your reception of them?

How we live is how we love. How we love is our story. - Gregory E. Woods 10.14.13

What is Education: privilege, or a right?

This is a very interesting topic. i grew up in Alaska. As a child I tested as gifted and was in several gifted programs. However by high school my mother (single parent) left my education mostly in my hands, due to a combo of a stubborn teenager and the time she had to take to keep a roof over our heads. At which point, I really stopped caring about grades and did the bare minimum to graduate. I was supposedly so smart, and did have a quick understanding of topics, that i did not feel the need to work for it, and only did enough homework to pass classes. I tested extremely well in SATs and ACTs. I could answer all the questions of my peers and teachers in my science, math, and English courses.

One of my peers who was in all the same advanced classes and eventually class valedictorian asked me my college test scores. When I told her, she was very upset i had scored higher than she did, yet I was a C (or below) student. She was upset because she had worked very hard for the best score possible, and truly could not understand why I did ‘better’.

Fast forward a few years when i decided to enter college. Imagine my surprise when I was not eligible for any scholarships. Didn't they know my brilliance?
Once I did get into college with a combo of state loans and my McDonald's income, suddenly grades mattered. Now I was literally invested in my own education. I was very involved in all aspects of my classes; setting up study groups, asking questions of all my teachers, providing feedback when I felt the quality of teaching was not what it should be for a college course. For the first time I got A’s by making an effort. It felt much better than a high SAT and ACT score.

I do think we do not appreciate the free educational system. I also see college students who do not pay for their classes sometimes have the same lack of initiative. I have often thought it sad as they will find the work world to be a shock if they do not start to apply a work ethic to following a syllabus in a 101 level course.

I also learned – the smart student isn't the one who scores well in tests. The smart student is the one who works for that score. - Indigo 1.29.14

SUNDAY PREACHER

Preaching about money, fame, and fortune is popular but marching against wage discrimination and unfair employment practices gets little attention. Getting people to shout on Sunday morning pumps everyone up, but talking about the need for the shouters to get involved in tutoring and the education of their children causes silence. For too long, we have followed Biblical teachings that make up feel good but never challenge us. I do understand that everyone is at different levels, but I'm deeply concerned that too many people want to be like Jesus when it's convenient and beneficial and turn away when it's time to go against the norm (status quo) and seek to make a difference. [Not a sermon; just a thought] - Rev. Sinclair Grey III 8.31.13

"As far back as three centuries, at least, Indians have been making the same observations about white Christians and their missionaries. It has been, and still is one of the main objections about Western Christianity from the view point of many of the Red nations. The other thing I learned early on is the average distinction of the Christian people is the commitment to mediocrity." - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

ASK her yourself

exquisite taste

"You'd have to ask the woman why she paints her body with tattoos. Each one would give a good reason for her sake, not anyone else’s. Beauty is a many-tiered sky within the heavens, and upon a woman, gushing from within a woman is, in many respects, for us to enjoy, marvel at, and wonder about. Drugs destroy a body. Low or no esteem destroys the will to live, but play builds the magic back up inside a weathered soul."

In John Edward's presidential bid in 2008 three related things stand out: His lover was made public, his wife Elizabeth was dying of cancer, and his family fractured under the public scrutiny. Much credibility was irretrievable with the news of his wife's declining health while he was getting laid somewhere else. There was much ado about something, but what stands out in my mind was a look in her eye, and a word his wife said.

SPRING BREAKS UP VALUE

During spring break tens of thousands of college age girls devalue their pussy, give in to the mockery of their virginity, and pay terrible prices for falling into the cultural phenomenon Black and white college frat boys deem appropriate for their loins, their need to nut in just about any girl who'd tremble and dare to flaunt while drunk on a beach. The beach parties are known for its debauchery, and disregard for rules, and the longevity of pure life that throbs in many college children.

Being at the end of childhood and at the beginning of adult maturation is an escape from adolescence. Adolescence is the culturally accepted time period of abandonment. It is a recently created phase of life; a gift from Europeans that has benefited not a single culture it was forced upon. In practice it has borne the Goth culture, motorcycle clubs, a sense of alienation, drug use, gangs, and other cultural woes because the initiatory process, so fundamental to growth and maturation, was abandoned in God's name. In the crime of that outcome adults rank their ability to alter this state of unrest with their fears, and nothing powerful is done to make sacred this period of life for their adult-children.

As a consequence children grow up to suffer needlessly, and make discoveries as adults that could have been made during initiations. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4.3.13

FREE to last

PART 43

"The feeling of pure freedom is seldom shared by many friends, let alone strangers. But, as I live and breath more often than not the moments of pure freedom occur when I am alone, settled, and absorbed in the interrelationships unique to the forest, or deep in the sound and feel of my music. As I get older those moments increase as my ability to be in the moment for longer periods becomes second nature.

But these are not moments unique to life. They are a part of life. They come with us at birth. Our parent's styles keep these things alive, or they don't. If they don't the process of unlearning to remember how to invite, and savor pure freedom becomes one's spiritual responsibility!" - Gregory E. Woods, 3.26.13

ON EASTER

Fritz Willis Easter egg coloring April 1962

"He decided to die!!" is the refrain from a 'blood song' sang during communion and Easter services in Black Pentecostal churches I know of. It charged me in particular as a musician in the band, and as the Christian I was back then it empowered me. 5.10.13

"It is special the moment of touch between who you are and who you are meant to be with. It is the same potency of originality, of fire within the breast, the booming depth of the sound of thunder, and the simmer of being cooled after the seduction. It, that touch, is the breath, and fact of life somehow, and beyond the narrow idea of a future." - Gregory E. Woods (6.13.13)

MOTHER'S SONG IN ME

I am most compelled in my spirit to tell what Rose told me years ago about her origins. But online? No. It is the most inappropriate place to tell, in depth, the most sacred stories outside of the sacred circles, or lodge ceremonies.

This photograph captures the essence of a creation story worthy of its dignity and place within the beautiful parts of Soul. The embodiment of Spirit that rest upon and within Innocence and Grace is the admiration and the adoration of Earth to Sky and Man to his Woman. It is in the song of our Heart of Hearts and the stories of our Minds telling us what Innocence and Innovation mean in the moment of Time's distinct quality of being a part of something Divine and Holy: Eternity, Service and Care. - Gregory E.
