"Bush is a violent, cold man. He has never hid it from view. Americans, in general, and white Americans, in particular, place a priority on someone making them feel good. Bush is not an introspective leader with a grasp on history and its implications on the present. He has one good leadership quality and it has been to our detriment: a single-minded focus. The sad thing is he appeals to a large group of people who mirror the same paradigms and belief-systems that fueled the Indian wars, the Vietnam War and the other European-American conquests... I don't envision a hope of reconciliation in Iraq with its people and our sins. I grieve for our grandchildren and brace for the backlash of the righteousness of the wrath of the Arab world.
The greatest chance for world peace occurred in the days and months after September 11th. Peace and reconciliation does not seem to dwell in the group consciousness of white America. Because of this truth I am afraid of the next steps, the next decision, the next action from the President and his followers."
