"One of the most puzzling and perplexing contradictions of Black American communities is the deep fear of, and incomprehensible reluctance to remove their children from school systems that disengage our children from their natural ability to learn, analyze, grow and develop into whole persons. Any of the schools that will kindly with understanding, with skill, and insight into the development of children at the deeper levels of their capacity are typically shunned by a large segment of Black American families much to the chagrin of their peers in other ethnic groups, the let down of their children and the disappointment of every visionary and teacher who sees the genius of Black American children, and knows what to do with it.
The looming questions are Why, and how do we as a People learn to care enough about ourselves to raise our children to the level of the dreams they come from and the dreams they need to manifest in the world they are born into?" - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories
