What We See We Say

Dita Von Teese
Dita Von Teese has some wise words to avoid style ridicule: "You can be a juicy, ripe peach, and there's still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches, so you can either submit to someone's criticism of you, or you can get on with the business of being your own amazing self who attracts other like-minded people that appreciate you."

Julia Roberts' pink gown she wore at the 20th Screen Actor's Guild Award was ridiculed. I am not sure what they meant or saw, but I just find it hard not to see the woman, and what makes her appealing, and necessary.  Perhaps something real gauche would make her look questionable, but this outfit does not know how to obscure the vision of Julia Roberts.

CAMERON DIAZ in the Green Hornet

Cameron Diaz, the Green Hornet

Cameron Diaz came out with her first big movie of the year on Friday, starring alongside Seth Rogen in “The Green Hornet,” directed by Michel Gondry.

"Growing older means you become more introspective and learn who you are and what you want," says the 38-year-old.

"When you're in your twenties you have no idea what's going on or who you are. We're obsessed with youth and what we look like. We forget what happens to our souls and our minds."

Critics, however, have been down on “The Green Hornet,” which received only a 44% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. One reviewer said that, at its best, the movie is "sporadically entertaining." Diaz plays Rogen’s secretary in the film.

"I wanted to spend some time just having a laugh," she explains, "and doing what I love without it being heavy."
