Merry XMAS

RIDDLE ME THIS:

There are a lot of academic things to say against and about this time of year. But, Life has its way of teaching youth, and over time youth becomes old enough to not shy away from aging. How is based upon acceptance. In old age wisdom places things in order simplifying what previously was baffling.

Getting old is part of a dance. It is not the same as dreading the process, or fearing death. Old age is the acquisition of power, the assembly of wisdom into a body of knowledge always at the ready as gifts. In a society disdainful of aging, and contemptuous of their insights this stage of Life is fraught with the most baffling of emotions: invisibility. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [Dec. 24, 2018]

SEDUCTION

Simplicity is in its essence simple. The way some women wear it complicates the equation of boy meets girl, or woman catches the man's eye with an interesting question best answered within and alone. ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [12/24/18]

it was the night before one Christmas.

Santa was like other men. He had a wife. He was sedated by the comforts his life afforded him and he was focused enough for many decades to not be distracted by any of the women waiting for him to show up at their houses on Christmas Eve. Some women wore nothing. Others had been priming themselves for his quick visit with their vibrators they'd fallen asleep with, and missed his coming and going. Others laid traps for him hoping to screw his brains out, but were unsuccessful.

Mrs. Claus, like other wives, knew a lot about her husband she didn't tell him. She feed him a lot of food and let him sit a lot when he was not working. So, for months into years he slowly got fat and unable to have comfortable sex without her. Quickies are fast and quick; sex, in and out and gone! But his waistline required work, and positioning and with the tight schedules he had around Christmas time he gave up the idea of getting some side pussy, and focused on his work.

But, one day it was cold, and bitterly so. There was a strong wind storm that had it been summer would have been called a tornedo. The house he was placing gifts under the tree for was quiet. Not even a mouse stirred. There was a minty scent in the air with a fragrance of some sort of combination of coffee and toast. He knew there were children somewhere sleeping upstairs, and the kitchen was dark. But, when he was finished he glanced at the windows and couldn't see outside. He looked up the chimney and the moonlight couldn't be seen. There were blankets of snow covering everything and the wind was harsh. He wondered aloud how his animals were doing. But, this was their weather. They'd be OK. So he looked around the room and sat in a comfortable red chair and began thumbing through a magazine or two. Settled into the environment he dozed off.

"Wake up!"

He felt the call more than anything else. It seemed to reach down into his loins. He tried to jump up when his eyes popped open, but the small woman straddling him had strength in her thighs, compulsion between her legs, and her center of gravity was focused. He couldn't get up at all. He tried once, or twice, but desire for her weakened him as he studied her body barely concealed beneath sheer white cloth. Dark pubic hair, a tantalizing fragrance from that hair, and a tingling sensation he couldn't distinguish from her desire or his arousal. Tantalizing and unbelievably gorgeous to the eye, inconceivable to the imagination, and glorious on her way to his spirit she was a presentation of what was comfortable to settle into, and be comforted by.

He was done. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories (Dec. 1, 2016)

SECRET W O R D S

Lingerie Diva model for real. Dec. 2016.

Secrets women keep to themselves are as special as the way Mary, the mother of Jesus, held the words of the angels in her heart as they told her about the boy she was to birth into the world. The way women regard themselves mirrors how they see other women.

If Mary was held up in the light of her knowing one could allow the mind to see a young dark skinned Hebrew woman in the cultural setting of her people for insight into how she could hold a secret from a high place. She was not trapped by the weakness of white and Black American women. She was hemmed up within the culture that held virginity high, and being betroth was akin to marriage, but was not because law held strict standards of impeccability the average modern women would balk at. It is not that they could not live up to those high standards. The choice is not to. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories Dec. 21, 2016

Christmas at the Woods' house

The temptation, if you are a thinker, or rebellious, is to lash out against religious celebrations this time of year. What I've found at the center of these people (myself included) is a specific anger against something, or someone that contradicted the very tenets of the religion espoused. In very young children it is particularly painful. In adults that hurt can hurtle into space as if it were a comet, or space debris doing a lot of damage to explorers. Without discernment many get hurt from the hurts to our intellect, our spirit, our sense of purpose which may have been damaged in the onslaught that made many of us rebel against the religion of the holidays. However it happened we are responsible for the pieces, picking up the pieces and routing out a journey back to the source of our pain even if the pain came from studying the major questions of one's religion in a library. It is pain.

I can tell you it is of paramount importance to do this healing work, but I cannot tell you how to do it. I can start with intent. That has to change. Something has to prick your spirit, stir your conscience into re-thinking your life. For me it was my children. They were very young. In fact, Janvier, my first born was young enough not to be in school when I began a process to eradicate the evidence of Christmas in my household. Intellectually, it was grueling because I engaged people in my church. I learned Christians are resistant to changing the story with facts, and the thought of reexamining their practices of belief is a slap against God, they feel. My research was thorough. Its intensity led me to a kind of missionary campaign for the minds of my children.

Over time, I believe Janvier may have been between 4 and 6, understood my lectures.  One fine day after listening to me again explaining why this was that and that was so, and no Christmas tree she looked up at me and said, "That's fine, Daddy. But, I want Christmas, and Santa Claus!"

I was done.

I called Mommy. Mommy simply said, "Bring 'em over here. Just bring them over here." And that was that. My children, no thanks to me, have many wonderful memories of Christmas at their grandparents' houses. At the time they had two sets of grandparents, and two sets of great-grandparents. All of my money went to keep a roof over our heads and food in our tummies. I was never able to afford gifts. Plus, the season and its obligations never entered my mind until a week or so before Christmas. My family was generous. They made sure the children had gifts every year. Now they are grown and have extended the stories into theirs.  - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 12.24.14

children's stories

Santa Claus

“It's time for a short story, My Mom and Dad told me of when they got their first home it was a corn crib and Daddy moved it from the top of a hill down to a stream by logs and rolling it , when he got it there he piped in some water from the stream to a sink area which Mommy could use a pump to get water, he moved the ceiling up a little for head room and added to it here and there, don't know how long it took him but guess they handled it great back then.It was hard for me to even think of it when they told me I was only 9 didn't even know what a corn crib was. God I miss all those stories life was hard but had so much more meaning!” ♥  9.10.12

Christmas time

"... and this picture brings up the deep warm feeling of being six years old, protected, snug and anticipating warm meals, hot cocoa, and Santa Claus the next day.

My sister, Cynthia and I were so close to each other we shared magic and saw and anticpated in the lookout for Santa together. The way Daddy built the tension through off-hand comments, and sudden outbursts of story we strained 'til it hurt as each day drew to a close to bring in the next one closer to Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve we were sequestered to our rooms to sleep, but we couldn't sleep. Mommy and Daddy were in the living room downstairs doing something secretive, and making slightly muffled giggling noises. A feeling of togetherness rose up the stairs with smells of cookies or cake, and ham and potatoes in the oven while that night's dinner, as always, lingered within me; the satisfaction ever present to lull me to sleep. Not this night. We couldn't sleep straining our ears to hear and understand every sound in the house, and what was that?

"Did you hear that, Cynthia? Did you hear that?"

"Yeah. What was it?"

"Santa Claus and reindeer!"

In the next few minutes we could hear walking on the roof as clear as the dinner music and Perry Como serenading Mommy downstairs. It was unbearable, and each minute was longer than the shadows of a setting sun. Finally, the pain of it all dissolved into us into sleep. In the morning before the sun had kissed the gray horizon we were up and in Mommy's room.

"Wake up. Wake up!"

Daddy used to pretend he was annoyed and try to make us go back to sleep, but our excitement made Mommy urge Daddy out of bed. Downstairs we stumbled with Daddy in tow trying to slow us up with short funny riddles and sayings. He'd suddenly say, "Wait. What was that?" We'd freeze on a stair listening.

"Nothing. Your playing, Daddy. C'mon, let's go downstairs!"

Finally at the bottom of the endless stairs was evidence of Santa's visit: gifts and a lit tree!

"I told you we heard him. I told you!" one of us would say and squeal with delight at the sight of the presents, and the smell of sweets, and pine, and the warm feeling that was always in the house. - Gregory E. Woods, 9.10.12

DAY AFTER X'MAS

Dawn Wolf as Santa Claus dec. 11, 2012 in my living room

"One of the things Jesus asked people to do was to tell the truth. He asked people to come to him as a child, to develop impeccability, love the Creator, respect and love neighbors, absorb and merge with divine teachings, study the prophets, pray, take of people. He forced people to re-examine their narrow views on subjects as wide and varied as law, women, forgiveness, prayer, and politics. He interjected into common theology a line of demarcation when it comes to financial responsibility as stated in Matt. 12:13-17.

He shed new light upon the initiatory tradition of the Hebrew people that was common amongst indigenous peoples. He taught enlightenment with a broad based foundation in traditional deep wisdom teachings from various influences of the Chaldeans, and the Egyptians, for an example. Upon further study Jesus’ life re-examined prophecy and one's relationship to prophesies. There are many things Jesus taught." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 12.18.12

MERRY X'MAS

"The best gift is the one word, a way, a means, the right ritual or ceremony, or the right action that will allow or assist someone to manifest what is within them intangible into a way of life all can see and benefit from. It is the possibility of being and living that needs to be illuminated or made combustible. Ignited water should come balance the fires of creation, as the Earth, our Mother, grounds the illumination, and the recently freed expression of Life." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories Dec. 19, 2012
