Captivated by their gender, their flair, beauty and skill sets women journalists in my generation have become very different from the Barbara Walters of the 1960's a serious contender in a white male dominated field. Barbara Walters, herself then and now a good looking woman, emphasized a highly informed mind and steely nerves to match any challenge to her opportunities in the news industry. This grit created a grounded sense of self rivaling the assumptions of women's power made by men making her an icon, a force to be reckoned with, and an elder.
Today, strikingly beautiful women with sharp journalistic skills, are scoring points in the glamour of news entertainment. Without them news is not news worthy. Many, myself included, would watch very little news entertainment in the morning or at night if we didn't have favorite crushes or admire the fashion and enjoy looking at the pretty legs of the women on TV news shows. My confession is that Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer are the toughest and most sensual of women on the air in the game for my tastes in excellence and appeal! - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories
