AWARENESS

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes in white gown

At the 66th edition of the Venice Film Festival there was a photography of Eva Mendes on the red carpet in Italy taken back in 2009, on the 4th of September, I admire for what the photographer captured. The actress made a dramatic appearance at the screening of the film, '"Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans", and as any beautiful woman with a dazzling presence it made the night more magical for all present.

The AP photographer knew from experience the magic of the night and the subject's immediate access to the brilliance of her grace, her beauty and how to put it all together in a moment, a twinkling of an eye. You see, the dance between the photographer is not a far cry, or a distance between the subject and the camera. The photographer's craft is a synthesis, a coming together of elements in a rush to be expressive, tell a story, and it is a moment yearning to mean something in eternity. We always reach out for eternity. It is where we come from and what defines time.

Time is a means to rest, and struggle to be in the break of eternal movement. Time and lifetimes upon Earth, or any planet is meant to be a playground that tries out the deeper mysterious things that compose life in an arena to test the validity, and strength and importance of its existence, and existence itself. Hence, the dance between life-death-resurrection is where we make our poetry, our music, build our buildings, have sex, create families and legacies, and make our discoveries, form religions from the formless and nameless plants, and the substance that can become what they come from: wisdom.

This is our life and in one moment the photographer captured all of these songs and expressions as they live inside of Eva Mendes!
