SELF-CONTROL: is a spiritual science

Paris Hilton's beautiful legs. . .

"Self-control is a compelling relationship between fear of offending and being judged by others, and a sense of being connected to people in a good way, and a healthy dose of consequences or karma." ~ Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 1.14.14

Gaining Self-Control

In this spiritual journey, I want to share with you a few lessons passed on to me about gaining self-control. The first lesson learned in gaining self-control is make sure you're well grounded in your relationship with God so that you're walking according to His will. When you're hooked up with God, you're allowing Him to order your steps and your thoughts. Think about it for a moment. Anytime you step outside of the will of God, you're depending on you instead of depending on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The second lesson learned in gaining self-control is never allow that which you can't control to control you. Control what you can such as your temper, emotions, reactions, and behavior. Here's a hint: the enemy doesn't have any power over you because you belong to God. I want you to get into your spirit that you have power on the inside that's greater than any demonic force.

The writer of Proverbs penned these words, "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control." Please don't miss this last lesson. Gaining self-control will cause you to receive blessings that God has for you. In a real sense, self-control will help you become more appreciative of the things God has deposited in your life. That's right; through self-control, you're not bugging out on what's happening on the outside because you're busy controlling what's happening on the inside. Always remember, self-control with either make you or break you. Have control over yourself and get ready to blow up from the floor up. 1.14.14
