STRENGTH and DELICATE
![]() |
| Roses and Yaniksa Lee captured in essence by Roland Dawson. 2018. |
Delicate is the essential quality of the rose. Assembled in numbers is the strength of accumulated essences of all those roses. Roses, if you know the story of the rose, breath around the spirit of certain women leaving the scent of an essence highly valued in sacred ways of being alive. Once glimpsed it changes the perception of women in even a crude soul. But, in this moment Yaniksa Lee is delight in the wonder of an essence under valued in our society. . . - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 11/30/18

Reflecting in the morning with roses is its own prayer.
|
Reflecting in the light of morning is its own prayer set in motion by touch, by color, by the presence of roses. Roses have their own power stories. Creation gave each its own place and each plant its own story to begin. It is a mystery being needed by who created you, but creation as its own mystery left us within our mysteries to explore. How we do it is a mystery our parents made into prayers for us to become, to be. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8.18.16

A Critical Observation
![]() |
| hat worn by a woman with no veins. |
What is it like to have no veins? Is it a cold existence? With no lines to follow can the course of our life blood have courses to flow? The point made is directed at the menace photographers have become etching out the very lines that distinguish living from pretense. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 4.25.16

Forgiveness
"It takes years to achieve forgiveness. It is a process. It is not the easiest thing to teach. It has to be emulated. By example learning to walk, talk and forgive fall into the same category. It is through relationship with people who understand and know the process of forgiveness, who 'teach' it best that you learn how to forgive."

Four Dimensions of Reconciliation:
Reconcile with God.
Reconcile with Self.
Reconcile with environment.
Reconcile with those you offended.
Three Perspectives on Change:

"You laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at you because you're all the same."

| Namibian women of the Heroro people teasing and playing with a white man |
There were a lot of scaling accusations and criticizers hurled stones at this image, and in turn the photographer. It was seen as trashy, nasty. It was puzzling how much revulsion this photo conjured up in some and in others gave rise to desire, play and fantastic projections! One man thoughtfully wrote in response to the backlash, "to those who say the pic is dirty, do a little research online and look at the majority of classic pin up art and pics were all about the subtle hints of attraction. most were nudes and a lot were used as nose art on American and British world war two fighters and bombers. the most famous being the Memphis Belle. most were classic gil evgreen photos and paintings. i find the model to be quite eye catching and the pose is very tasteful, no pun intended. its not like a porn mag with her legs spread and the cake smeared all over. plus if you think you can do it better then why not try it yourself. that's just my opinion, just saying." - Matthew Price

It would be a study, an interesting study to meet the detractors and critics of this photograph. Their insights delve into an aspect of the legacy of the Puritans and other philosophical musings the Western world favored the world with. A lot can be said about suppression. A lot can be said about the freedoms of expression.
This is a tease, the photo, but isn't the center of attraction between sexes one of a tease?

| Beauty's song from Telma's galleries |
MY MOTHER'S SONG IN ME
I am most compelled in my spirit to tell what Rose told me years ago about her origins. But online? No. It is the most inappropriate place to tell, in depth, the most sacred stories outside of the sacred circles, or lodge ceremonies.
This photograph captures the essence of a creation story worthy of its dignity and place within the beautiful parts of Soul. The embodiment of Spirit that rest upon and within Innocence and Grace is the admiration and the adoration of Earth to Sky and Man to his Woman. It is in the song of our Heart of Hearts and the stories of our Minds telling us what Innocence and Innovation mean in the moment of Time's distinct quality of being a part of something Divine and Holy: Eternity, Service and Care. - Heart Song Stone Man 3.28.13

"There is death in life we either clatter away from in an effort to put distance between our lives and its presence, or one becomes still, and allows oneself to become a sacred person in relationship with their own deaths. It is all a choice until we have to die." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 3.26.13

A moment, a touch
Telma Regina Garcia
"It is special the moment of touch between who you are and who you are meant to be with. It is the same potency of originality, of fire within the breast, the booming depth of the sound of thunder, and the simmer of being cooled after the seduction. It, that touch, is the breath, and fact of life somehow, and beyond the narrow idea of a future." - Gregory E. Woods (6.13.13)

ROSES ARE RED. . .
"I remember when I used to buy myself roses. I needed to at the time. I would carry a dozen roses during the day sometimes. Women would smile, and some would tease wanting a rose, or thinking I was courting someone would make suggestive comments or show me cleavage, or thigh. I wasn't. I was affirming myself. A number of men thought otherwise. Some thought I was trying to get laid, others thought I was visiting several women on the same sweep through the town. Occasionally, a man would discern something deeper and make a cryptic statement to which I would nod affirming his suspicion.
I was seeking solace. I was comforting myself with a collective story about beauty, and color, and sound. Flowers and birds carry sounds we all glean from in the most subtle of ways. We intuit the answers to prayers and wishes in the things we carry, and keep around us. There is a voice from on high, but an untrained ear looking to hear the voice of God is often disappointed particularly, if their their minds have been taught not to 'see' to hear the voices of living things from stones to birds to trees and water." - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8.30.12
