You are a class act. I grew up around women like you and you have the elegance of those times when women of color had to define themselves against the will of the dominant culture. Defining oneself is a choice, and in times without the strident laws of neo-slavery the defining words and images of African-American women, today, is subjected to the self-mutilating paradigms commonly referred to as 'ghetto'!
The ghetto is something to get out of not to extol, and extolling the virtues of it are not set within you as you walk in the worlds of people we all admire who create the entertainment we need to facilitate the difficult challenges of the times we live in. You are a gift to the worlds that watch you in the public eye and I am very proud of the high standard you hold. It can’t be easy. It never is in any world anybody lives in. –Gregory E. Woods
