NEGRO PARADIGMS ARE NOT DIAMONDS

In the black community light-skinned people were given space in some circles out of resentment, more credence in others, and revered and idolized in others. A lot of black men longed to have a light-skinned women on their side. It said they had arrived in a manner of speaking highly about themselves. Light skin, fine hair was as close as a colored man could get to a white woman, and white women were a death sentence during the decades of neo-slavery. Today what has changed is the law, Jim Crow is dormant, and the new laws will not sanction killing a black man for looking at a white women, and the Mann Act will not trail a colored man across state lines if he has a white woman in his car. But white men now have public access to light-skinned women as the stigma dies down, and white women in the South, for example, can learn the sexual techniques, and absorb the sexual powers and prowness of Black women that was the source of their historical angst, and fueled their cruel and creative tortures during slavery days on their nigger slave women and men.
The one constant in all of this was lust. The desire to fuck the forbidden fruit led to betrayals on both sides of the violent inner struggles against the systems of supremacy, entitlement, and unresolved guilt within the souls of thinking and bold abolitionists.  -Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of the Drum
