GROWTH
Don't rush to grow up, Taj’nai. There are
mysterious things to discover and unravel as a woman you'll miss rushing into
an illusion of sophistication, of womanhood. Black womanhood is a many splendid
thing. It is a spiritual work requiring the intelligence of knowing the why of
your existence. The mistake of older women to not tutor girls, and young women has
stifled growth, genius, and complicated their birthing process from immaturity to
maturity. Not knowing what is appropriate, what is dangerous, or what is wise
and what is wisdom a girl, or a young woman’s ignorance and vulnerability lures
the men who know the words that mean the harm of the divine source of a woman’s
vagina, her Womb, her essence, her life.
It is a sacrilegious act of terror to undermine the growth of a child, but it is an industry, and what women and girls don’t understand is the pressure point that weakens them in the direction of the Devourers. – Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.13.13
