If Terrorism is a Religion

ISIS warriors provided The Independent

QUESTION: If Terrorism Is A RELIGION, Then Shouldn’t A SECURITY Test Be A Religious Test? was asked in an article from a site Clash Daily by Doug Giles. It reads thus:

"Do you think that security testing should also be religious since Islamic terrorists carry out attacks in the name of their religion?

Paul Ryan objected to proposals for a ban on Muslim migrants, significant numbers of whom support some form of terrorism, entering America, insisting on a security test rather than a religious test for immigrants.

But when terrorism is a religion, then a security test becomes a religious test. There’s just no way to get around that. Islamic terrorism is a religious phenomenon. Atheists don’t commit Muslim terrorism. Muslims who believe in the fundamental principles of Islam do. And they do so in order to make Islam supreme over all religions. This is the core idea of the battle cry, Allahu Akbar."

It does not matter if I belong to the Republican party, or not. I find this assessment hard to gauge the more I draw upon, and probe into the decades of my study and thinking into and around the complex subjects engaged in the dynamics of religious wars. The way white Americans chose to remember their role in the theater of war, and global terrorism  is more deeply disturbing than the current obsession of Islamic terrorism because willful ignorance, or simple ignorance of history is more deadly in the long run because it creates more fodder for an enemy to feed upon in his rage.

Pretending the U.S. does not have a hand in this current crisis, and that there is no centuries long history of aggression and suspicion and fear the Europeans have held towards the Arab world is a fundamental flaw in the way white Americans like to believe today. None of this happened like a Big Bang Theory.

We are in the midst of a momentum built from ideologies to self-righteousness to religious wars fought by the lay people of the three blood religions from Abraham: Judaism, Islam and Christianity! Pretending there is no history at play today has the same affect as pretending white Americans are not the apex predator in the world today! - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 6.18.16
