Patriotism to white Americans does not coincide with the sense of being a citizen a Native person feels, or those of the African bloodlines. Asian groups see American citizenship as an economic opportunity, a chance to return what they gleaned as citizens back to their home country, or worst of all a chance to be accepted by whites as equals.

| Nigger philosophy. |
Disturbing visual, but a mainstay in Black thought, and Black life. Why it is thus is a trickster story. Children are always mirroring us. It is up to us to listen carefully and act accordingly. Most often we don't. The real question is why not?
