Faith: Don't Leave Home Without It.

Do you ever get the feeling that you're leaving something behind on your way to work and/or school? As soon as you walk out of the door, you're asking yourself the question, what did I forget? Did I leave the iron on? Did I lock the door when I closed it? Did I leave my money on the dresser? These are some of the questions people ask themselves on a daily basis. With so much rush and panic to start the day, people will often leave things behind. It's not that it wasn't important, it was a simple a mistake. For those who leave important things behind, they'll make a U-turn to retrieve what was left, while others will leave it behind and try not to forget it the next day.


The credit card company, American Express had a slogan a few years ago reminding its customers to never leave home without their card. It was a reminder to its loyal customers to keep their credit card in their pocket in case of emergency. Whatever the emergency, you needed to have your American Express card with you. That's right, the American Express Credit Card, 'the card you should never leave home without.'

In this spiritual journey, I would like to draw your attention away from American Express and toward your faith in God. While it's good to have things with you in case of emergency, it's more important to have your faith in place. Your faith will get you out of situations that credit cards can't even handle. In a real sense, your faith in God will help you get through the obstacles of dealing with crazy people, insane circumstances, and unpredictable moments. It's your faith in God that places you in a position of tranquility. I want you to know that God is so awesome that He reacts to your faith by putting in you what you need to get you through what you're dealing with. Before your credit card, make sure your faith is activated.

While Jesus was having a teachable moment with His disciples, He deposited these words of wisdom by saying, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Please don't miss this. Whatever you're dealing with that's trying to bring you down, call up your faith in God and believe what you ask for will happen. Instead of depending on money to solve your problems, seek God in the matter and watch what happens. With God, your repayment is through praise, prayer, and obedience to His Word. Your faith in God will take you places and do more for you than any credit card. Remember your faith - don't leave home without it.
