SPECTATOR TO MURDER(S)

In these modern times, or times past the tradition of killing women in the name of God and calling their murders 'honor killings' terrifies me into the depths of my being. In these modern times the reverence given the royal family of England baffles common sense. It speaks into the logic of some things that don't make sense if your country was recently, or ever a subject of the British empire, and still is reeling from the subjugation of their rule.

Pakistan, India and other conservative countries find ways to kill women for doing things out of love for a man, and commitment to an ideal that does not include the necessity to adhere to a strict code of men forever seeking the lives of women to be submitted to their will, and women's lives to be testament to a perception of God not in alliance with women's nature. The United States does not step deep into this outrage. Our history is just as murky and just as recent as yesterday's news about our connection to these fundamental flaws of religion, and thinking.

Freedom, the concept, and freedom in action are not the same for women as it is for men in a tradition steeped in the beliefs set forth from holy books that claim women are subordinate to men and inferior. Creation stories are deep in the DNA of people. They govern thought and belief with attention to details in our lives. The bonds between mothers and sons are peculiar in these structured and deeply conservative cultures because they pale against the privilege of being male with the power of life and death over women worthy enough to sleep with and bare sons. Being beneath disgust should women's life force exceed the diminished role assigned by the culture?

It is a baffling clusterfuck. Is there liberation to come out of the outrage against these centuries old traditions, thought patterns, and beliefs? If there is it will come from true revolution in the souls of People! - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 5.28.14

2. Aishwarya Rai: The Bachchan bahu is, needless to say, the most beautiful woman in the world. And, with her now being a proud mommy of Aaradhya in November 2011, she is one of the most beautiful moms in the world! We certainly hope that the little angel got her mom’s genes – and we are sure Abhishek hopes so too!
