The acceptance of insults is staggering and disappointing. In the past couple of years the fashion industry began to refer to famous women's pregnancies as 'baby bumps'. After all of the fight for equality women accept brutal assaults upon the core of their femininity like a football jock in the game 'taking it on the chin'.
I wince every time I hear men and women talk about women's baby bumps dismissing the Sacred, the most profound form of divinity within their bodies, and the soul of their bodies. Unable to 'see' and grasp the totality, the enormity of these words is tantamount to not recognizing the rape of one's body, and the degradation of one's being, or essence. It is a peculiar denouncement, but firmly entrenched into the minds of those who don't mind that others don't mind the assault.
