12 Affirmations for the African American Community

Dr. Sinclair Grey III

As we approach 2015, many people will make various New Year’s resolutions, from losing weight to going into business for themselves. While it’s a proven fact than many people don’t keep their resolutions after the second month, what needs to happen is that people move from making resolutions to declaring affirmations they will embrace throughout the year. And you don’t have to wait until 2015 to declare these personal oaths. Beginning today, I would like to provide you with 12 affirmations for the African-American community:

1.We will value the life of all persons regardless of race, creed, color, nationality, ethnicity, or sexual orientation

2.We will not support record companies/artists that demean and degrade our women and the Black community.

3.We will not live beneath our potential when the Creator has called us to be victorious in all that we set out to do.

4.We will increase our support of Black-owned businesses.

5.We will save and investing more of our money.

6.We will go back to school to acquire new skills and talents to make ourselves more marketable.

7.We will start businesses that will not only add more revenue to our financial portfolio, but will create employment opportunities for those within our community.

8.We will not stereotype, categorize, and/or label people we don’t know.

9.We will become more engaged politically and socially within our community to ensure justice for all persons.

10.We will not engage in senseless discussions and/or behavior that is destructive and damaging to ourselves, our family, and our community.

11.We will support our youth and encourage them to strive to be the best in all things.

12.We will not give up in seeking to improve our quality of life.

You might be asking yourself why I choose only twelve affirmations when so many others could have been used. Well, I will leave it up to you to create the rest. Every day, we should find ways to not only uplift and empower ourselves, but also people within the African-American community. If we engage in these affirmations today and everyday, we will see change. The idea is to plant seeds of hope. With so many seeds planted, a harvest will come about. This harvest will make the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth. Let’s begin these affirmations today.

How Medicine Began

How Medicine Began - Lenape

At first, long ago, men and women lived to be very old. Some were said to have lived two and three hundred years. Our Lenape'wak knew happiness and good health.  Then one day a mysterious sickness came upon our people, and everyone who became sick died. It seemed as if soon no one would be left alive.  Now, one who had died from the sickness was a young boy. As he traveled along Pimikishika'tek, the Path of Souls, he eventually came before Nutemhuma, the Keeper Grandmother, who watches over the entrance to the Land of Spirits, and the young boy was sobbing in great sorrow. Keeper Grandmother asked him why he grieved so, and the young boy replied that his people were dying and that he wished for them to be given life.

So, Nutemhuma told Creator about the young boy, and having pity on the boy and our Lenape'wak, he decided to send Nanapush to teach them medicine and healing.

Now, Nanapush came, and he was instructed by Creator to restore the young boy to life. So, he made a lodge and covered it, then he made a fire and gathered 12 rocks, heating them until they were red hot. Nanapush put the young boy's body in the lodge and then brought in the re hot rocks and closed the door. The rocks were glowing brightly in the darkness and now Nanapush poured water on them, creating much steam, and invoking the Creator and the Spirits to help him. The rocks were the boy's body, the fire his inner fire, the water his blood, the steam his breath. With Spirit came life, and Keeper Grandmother sent his Spirit back into his body; the boy was alive once again, restored, whole and healthy!

Now, in remembrance of this, as a symbol of sacredness, and the fragility of life that the people might be reminded of thus and that they might hold the gift of life close to their hearts and not take it for granted, the Creator set strawberries upon the earth. The red of the strawberry is the red of blood, which is life, and all life, like the strawberry, grows to maturity, gives forth seed and new life, and then is gone. However, even though death touches all life in winter, the strawberry leaves are green there under the snow, a symbol of the Creator's promise of the continuation of life even after death.

The leaves of the strawberry were given in threes, representing birth, life and death; also the 3 clans of our Lenape'wak, the Wolf, Turtle and Turkey. As long as we remember clan and family, and the ways of our ancestors, like the strawberry we too shall live through the coming winters.

So, the young boy, being given new life, was given a new name, Wate'him, 'Strawberry'. Nanapush gave him a naming ceremony to honor and bless him before the Creator and all of creation.

Wate'him, having experienced the mystery of life and death, had been given special gifts and a special purpose. The Creator had instructed Nanapush to teach the boy the way of medicine and healing, and so he did. First, Nanapush taught him about the sweat lodge, original instructions from the Creator, the meanings in its construction and ceremony, and how to use it for purification and healing. However, Nanapush knew that it would require more than the sweat lodge alone to bring health back to the people. So, they fasted and prayed for guidance in vision to help the Lenape grandchildren from the ravages of the dread sickness which was upon them.

Nanapush was given vision, and in his vision he saw an otter, kuna'moxk, in the water. It was sick and had a plant in its mouth. Then some large waves washed over the otter and it disappeared. The water became still and the otter reappeared, with the plant in its mouth, looking strong and healthy. He was cured.    Nanapush woke from his vision and he took Wate'him into the forest with him. Going to a certain place and looking for the plant he had seen in his vision, he soon found it. The plant was sukaxkuk chipik, the black snake root, and the 2 dug some up to take back with them.

THE SHAUMBRA SYMPTOMS

Twelve Signs of Your Awakening Divinity
By Geoffrey Hoppe and Tobias

1.     Body aches and pains, especially in the neck, shoulder and back. This is the result of intense changes at your DNA level as the spiritual "seed" awakens within. This shall pass.
2.     Feeling of deep inner sadness for no apparent reason. You are releasing your past (this lifetime and others) and this causes the feeling of sadness. This is similar to the experience of moving from a house where you lived in for many, many years into a new house. As much as you want to move into the new house, there is a sadness of leaving behind the memories, energy and experiences of the old house. This too shall pass.

3.     Crying for no apparent reason. Similar to #2 above. It's good and healthy to let the tears flow. It helps to release the old energy within. This too shall pass.
4.     Sudden change in job or career. A very common symptom. As you change, things around you will change as well. Don't worry about finding the "perfect" job or career right now. This too shall pass. You're in transition and you may make several job changes before you settle into one that fits your passion.

5.     Withdrawal from family relationships. You are connected to your biological family via old karma. When you get off the karmic cycle, the bonds of the old relationships are released. It will appear as though you are drifting away from your family and friends. This too shall pass.
After a period of time, you may develop a new relationship with them if it is appropriate. However, the relationship will be based in the new energy without the karmic attachments.
6.     Unusual sleep patterns. It's likely that you'll awaken many nights between 2:00 - 4:00 AM. There's a lot of work going on within you, and it often causes you to wake up for a "breather." Not to worry. If you can't go back to sleep, get up and do something rather than lay in bed and worry about humanly things. This too shall pass.

7.     Intense dreams. These might include war and battle dreams, chase dreams or monster dreams. You are literally releasing the old energy within, and these energies of the past are often symbolized as wars, running to escape and boogiemen. This too shall pass.

8.     Physical disorientation. At times you'll feel very ungrounded. You'll be "spatially challenged" with the feeling like you can't put two feet on the ground, or that you're walking between two worlds. As your consciousness transitions into the new energy, you body sometimes lags behind. Spend more time in nature to help ground the new energy within. This too shall pass.

9.     Increased "self talk." You'll find yourself talking to your Self more often. You'll suddenly realize you've been chattering away with yourself for the past 30 minutes. There is a new level of communication taking place within your being, and you're experiencing the tip of the iceberg with the self talk. The conversations will increase, and they will become more fluid, more coherent and more insightful. You're not going crazy, you're just Shaumbra moving into the new energy.

10.     Feelings of loneliness, even when in the company of others. You may feel alone and removed from others. You may feel the desire to "flee" groups and crowds. As Shaumbra, you are walking a sacred and lonely path. As much as the feelings of loneliness cause you anxiety, it is difficult to relate to others at this time. The feelings of loneliness are also associated with the fact that your Guides have departed. They have been with you on all of your journeys in all of your lifetimes. It was time for them to back away so you could fill your space with your own divinity. This too shall pass. The void within will be filled with the love and energy of your own spiritual consciousness.
11.     Loss of passion. You may feel totally disimpassioned, with little or no desire to do anything. That's OK, and it's just part of the process. Take this time to "do no-thing." Don't fight yourself on this, because this too shall pass. It's similar to rebooting a computer. You need to shut down for a brief period of time in order to load the sophisticated new software, or in this case, the new "seed" energy.

12.     A deep longing to go Home. This is perhaps the most difficult and challenging of any of the conditions. You may experience a deep and overwhelming desire to leave the planet and return to Home. This is not a "suicidal" feeling. It is not based in anger or frustration. You don't want to make a big deal of it or cause drama for yourself or others. There is a quiet part of you that wants to go Home. The root cause for this is quite simple. You have completed your karmic cycles. You have completed your contract for this lifetime. You are ready to begin a new lifetime while still in this physical body.

During this transition process, you have an inner remembrances of what it is like to be on the other side.  Are you ready to enlist for another tour of duty here on Earth? Are you ready to take on the challenges of moving into the New Energy? Yes, indeed you could go Home right now. But you've come this far, and after many, many lifetimes it would be a shame to leave before the end of the movie. Besides, Spirit needs you here to help others transition into the new energy. They will need a human guide, just like you, who has taken the journey from the old energy into the new. The path you're walking right now provides the experiences to enable you to become a Teacher of the New Divine Human. As lonely and dark as your journey can be at times, remember that you are never alone.

2013 - The Year of The Sacred Feminine

mysterious energies of Shriya Saran
My New Year's resolution starts a month late. I want to blog with some regularity. Am I going to be able to maintain a once-a-week commitment? I have had time to consider it carefully as the year 2013 begins. Once again, the doomsday prophets misunderstood— the world did not end on Dec 21, 2012— the new era began as in our journey towards conscious evolution as we become, in Barbara Marx Hubbard's terms, 'homo universalis.'

Why 2013 as the year of the Sacred Feminine? ‘Triskaidekaphobia’ (the fear of the number 13) is why many high-rise buildings and hotels go straight from 12 to 14. There are 13 lunar and menstrual cycles in a calendar year; the moon travels 131 degrees in the sky every 24 hours. Physically, emotionally and intuitively, women are linked to the moon.

To the patriarchal mindset the number 13 represented femininity. Just as any new age tries to differentiate itself from past eras, considering the number 13 unlucky can been seen as part of the patriarchal suppression of the lunar calendar in favor of the solar cycle. Time to change that belief as we move forward. As we see the values of the Sacred Feminine begin to influence American society, we celebrate society finding ways of leveling the playing field of all members of our human family as an example to all — same sex marriage is becoming accepted by a majority of people, more women are being voted into office, we are starting to look at the utter stupidity of allowing the public access to assault weapons and their murderous clips. The majority of Americans are beginning to realize that women are autonomous beings and need to be in charge of decisions about their own bodies. Climate change, eradicating pollution, finding alternatives to nuclear energy— it seems everything is entering our field of awareness, begging for solutions that will benefit ourselves, our planet and the generations that are yet to come.

Just as I welcome 2013 and the new age, I welcome your comments on ways in which you see evidence of the rise of the Sacred Feminine in our journey to conscious evolution. by

CRAZY

How crazy does a woman have to be to be taken seriously? How crazy does a woman have to be to ward a man off and away? Men will go for a crazy woman with an incredible whatever: behind, face, breasts. It doesn't matter to a lot of men because pussy is warm. It's inviting. Its mystical properties are clearly drawn, but perceptions, and hurt, and rage or disrespect will make pussy look like something else besides who She is, and She is a she. How did women and men learn to use the word pussy to denote weakness; contemptible weakness, an insult to manhood? Women call men pussies if they project weakness, but pussy can drain a man rendering him weak. Pussy can pull a man out of reasons into the drive to be in the pussy so how weak is pussy? Is pussy weak or the man weak? Is the women stronger than a man because she has a pussy, or is a man stronger because he has to have pussy?

Pussy asks a lot of questions, and the answers often come unbidden in throes of passion. When a man ejaculates his heart opens and he will say what his heart says to him underneath the denial and the lust and the anger and the need.

" I love you."
"I need you."
" I want you."
"I can't live without you."

Are we talking to the woman, the Pussy, the Creator, or all three at the same time when we come?

MANHOOD TEACHING #12

Gii Taa'se gordy Williams Sr. - African Mohican Oneida
PART 12

"On American soil Africans and Indians intermarried creating terror within whites. That union is the reason some of the existing tribes are alive today, and the reason millions of Africans are sound of mind and spirit today. The African slave of our homelands retained a great deal. The rhythms are profound. I can go on and on about it. As a musician I have played a wide variety of music. Hip Hop is a powerful voice. The underground Hip Hop culture is deeper, hip, and in tuned with many things. It has become the griot of a people, and peoples around the globe. Its very core is African." ~Gregory E. "The Eight Propositions"

Chapter 29 of The Second Coming of Reb YHSHWH, by Carlo Suares, Weiser, 1994 (Carlo Suarès)

"And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20-21). And this would be the keynote of the New Era. Here are the eight propositions:

1. Seek your total individuality. Don't write it down anywhere. Don't give it a name. Any definition of yourself is a deceptive hideout.
2. You will not find your total individuality. It is your total individuality that sees you, that witnesses your doings. It acts in our space-time continuum but is not restricted to it.
3. Your total individuality is your soul. It abides in the indeterminate plurality of universes. Because it is alive, it is evolving. Because it is outside of time, its evolution is only the time that you need to permit it to find you. Because it is multidimensional, it contributes to the composition of an Ecclesia. It is one and innumerable.
4. Your soul will not find you as long as your consciousness is made of the stuff of false evidences created by your mind: as long as you do not feel a sense of suffocation in those space-time false evidences.
5. The death of false evidences is a psychological death, announcer of resurrection. Each false evidence denounced opens a window in the inner space where the measurable dies.
6. This death of the measurable in the inner space is a personal experience. All that is said to you about it will prevent it from occurring. Do not listen to the professionals of any religions.
7. Beyond this death, our infinitely multiple individuality reveals to our present person that we are only one of its multifarious manifestations. We then meet the other manifestations of our soul spread out through history, still present and alive.
8. So this consciousness emanating from our soul integrates its earthly past and also its future. It knows itself continuous, without limits. It is all-consciousness, it penetrates every consciousness, it understands every consciousness, and that understanding is love.
