Contrast, and Clash of Mentalities

Rihanna
2 of 9
Rihanna, see the contrasts and the contradiction? For the sake of argument, and for the sheer beauty of a captured moment this is, for me, the best and most telling of the shots taken by the photographer!! How did he get those older women in the background, by chance? Were they secretly wishing to rebel and get a cameo? Was this their act of civil disobedience? - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 10.29.13

This is a sultry woman. Is Rihanna seductive clothed in a black fashionable version of modesty, or to American taste humble of attire in front of the mosque? In this controversy the administration of the Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi felt her body beneath the cloth and the way she used her body was too much for the sanctity of the grounds, their tradition, and the environment of prayer and reverence common to sacred space.

It is very hard for millions of Americans to understand how religion fits into the fabric of the Arab world. The Europeans and the Americans by definition of  their law and bullying, and missionaries spent 500 years ripping this ideological merge of elements out of the cultures of the indigenous peoples of the North American continent. Knowing that it is no wonder a Rihanna and a creative crew would miss the nuances of worship and reverence, custom, and politics Arabs practice and have a fashion shoot in a holy place.

In practice, Americans do not hold land sacred. To other peoples in the world that is a dangerous spirit. A people who would invade the holy land of their proclaimed religion without reserve, or regret is an incomprehensible creature. With the same horror the Apaches felt watching the Spanish/Mexican sheep herders copulating with their sheep millions of Arabs were horrified watching American bomb the cities of Iraq, where the Garden of Eden once existed for Adam and Eve. With that as a backdrop here comes Rihanna.

Chicks On The Right

ATTENTION TOWNSPEOPLE! Yes, we are capitalist pigs, and therefore, we also have a store:http://www.cafepress.com/chicksonright

"You admit to being capitalistic pigs, sell t'shirts saying 'Let's outsource liberalism to India', ignoring how colonialism devastated India, ignore how capitalism's sense of entitlement has sent American jobs overseas to India, and you offer no solutions of substance; yet you are somehow encouraging the very people directly affected by the practices of dictatorial patriotism, and Capitalism further along in the notion it is OK not to know enough to change our predicament intelligently.

Is that what you are saying? If so you aren't thinking, or helping. You are reacting and feeding, and breathing into the schizophrenia of fear affecting us all across the country! That is not fair. It is not responsible, or representative of the position you hold over people who do not have time to research the issues and facts asserting dominance over their lives. You are taking from them. It is mean, and coming from the mouths of two gorgeous white women the double whammy of the image and the message means something different to people of color irregardless of their social and economic standing!"

GAY MARRIAGE CIVIL UNION

GAY MARRIAGE

There is a poster painted high on a building in New York city that reads, “IF YOU DON’T LIKE GAY MARRIAGE DON’T GET GAY MARRIED.”

In Facebook on the 23rd of September of 2012, A woman, named Aroha H. Smith, from somewhere I do not know, responded, “I don’t get it. It must be USA humor.”

She is right.

I responded: “It is American humor. Americans are fond of catchy phrases, and shy from the depth of issues, and events. It is a common practice to pretend the deep probing questions do not exist, but how those unanswered questions plague us.” – Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10.21.12

VOTE, THINK; People died for it!

Kim Kardashian full in a flowing red gown leaves her public wondering if she is pregnant.
Is she? Oh, my God!! What if she is?

Speculation is a business less an art form, more a way of making money, and corralling people into boxes to form opinions, and attitudes is the art of speculation. Centering people on their lower chakras, and focused on them benefits the Takers of our culture who need to gain at the expense of others. It seems the trend is moving the country away from the ideals espoused ad nauseam daily over the air ways to somehow sway the world away from our misdeeds, our inconsistencies, and  our policies. The chants, and the propaganda pulling people away from problem resolution into sensationalism, and private hysteria is tearing away at the fabric of adulthood with a juvenile trend towards speculating in politics instead of working, studying, and seeking the various forms of resolution to conflicts facing us as a nation.

In very plain language four years has sped by as a solution-oriented President succeeded in steering the nation away from an impending Great Depression while a significant percentage of his elected staff undermined the whole process. The choice between President Obama, and Gov. Romney running for President, fundamentally means deciding to continue with a work ethic that has gotten things done, or a cultural phenomenon steeped squarely in a racially charged tradition that spurns the authority, and authenticity of a Black man's authority, and other things including a propensity to create, and stir conflict while resisting the responsibility of jointly solving problems facing the nation because of reasons that shrink before the well-being of the country.

The inability to compromise has ruined many a relationship, businesses, and millions of marriages. Why is it acceptable in government? In this century it is more profitable in journalism to put on a show, and in the court of public opinion being in touch with the pulse of issues, and the nation, and intellectually sharp, and analytical is less a forte, and more an obstacle because it takes too long to weave together the many elements important to an issue. To the detriment of the country the average person seems tailored to be impatient with analysis. For judgement let us say we have become the product of our education.

On the other, we cannot allow liberal, freer in spirit, and creative thinkers run of the mill, so to speak. There needs to be balance, but where will it come from? The counterpart of a liberal person? - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10.15.12

Sandra Bullock, Giving Back

Sandra Bullock opening health clinic in New Orleans in 2010

"Five years after Hurricane Katrina, Sandra Bullock returned to New Orleans to open a $700,000 health clinic at a local high school on Sunday. "Sometimes tragedies bring out the very best in people and it's one of the reasons why we stand in this school of excellence today," said the Oscar winner at the ceremony..."

PARENTING & GOVERNING

The head of a family like the heads of governments reflect the ruling paradigms, and direct the family or the government down the path of natural consequence. -Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

Sarah Palin as Governor of Alaska 2009

Practical! It is said that "law is a prescription for performance, made by the thoughts and acts of its maker or makers, to which those who subscribe are bound. When one thinks what he desires to be, or to do, or to have, or, when several think what they desire to have, or to do, or to be, he or they are unaware that what they are mentally formulating and prescribing is the law by which, in the near or distant future, he or they are actually bound to perform as the acts or the conditions in which they will then be. Of course most people do not know that they are bound by the law of their own thinking, else they would not think the thoughts they usually do think."

Democracy is Self-Government. As we free our minds allowing our asses to follow we become attuned to the process of critical thinking that makes room for creative and transformational ideas. As one thinks...I AM Emilio Williams

STATE OF AMERICA

We cannot pigeonhole the agenda of the President. The complexity of what is wrong in America is deeply imbedded in what is wrong within our souls. They penetrate into the dark specter of our core values, our propensity towards war, and our shared lack of historical perspective on the why and how of our present state of affairs lands squarely into the arena of public outcries that were mute during President George W. Bush’s reign. Why? The average American citizen is polarized into sitting positions, agitated in corners, misinformed, and tragically taught to be content in corners.

President Obama set high standards in his life, and conveyed them to us during a time when American intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development was arrested, and the national consciousness, you would think as basic to world power is dormant, asleep! The commitment millions of Americans made to this presidency was to place themselves into the depth of introspection, and self-development, and lastly to participate because one man cannot fix what is wrong in America. In light of what is wrong here we cannot continue to argue over points without the prerequisite historical insight into the issues, spiritual maturity, or the emotional strength to listen deeply to the sides of the many stories at work. How many decades have conservative, Christians fought against health care, and voted against their best interests? How long? Why? Why does it continue the inconsistencies on both sides of the problems this far into our history?

If we are going to support what is good for everyone in this country then our view needs to be global, not the traditional island mentality we hold dear as US citizens. –Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of the Sacred Medicine Wheels

an AMERICAN PILE OF SHIT

There was a Pied Piper who said: “We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change it!”
And the people said, “Change is good!”
Then he said, “We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,”…
And the people said “Sock it to them, and redistribute their wealth.”
And the people said, “Show me the money!”
And then he said, “Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody”
And Joe the plumber said, are you kidding me?”
And Joe’s personal records were hacked and publicized.
And one lone reporter asked, “Isn’t that Marxist policy?”
And she was banished from the kingdom!
Then someone asked, “With no foreign relations experience, how will you deal with radical terrorists?”
And the Pied Piper said, “Simple. I’ll sit down and talk with them and show them how nice we really are and they’ll forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!”
Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll give 95% of you lower taxes.”
And one, lone voice said, “But 40% of us don’t pay ANY taxes.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Then I’ll give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!”
And the people said, “Show me the money!”
Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!”
And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.
And he said, “I’ll mandate employer- funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage.”
And the people said, “Gim’me some of that!”
Then he said, “I’ll penalize employers who ship jobs overseas.”
And the people said, “Where’s my rebate check?”
Then the Pied Piper actually said, “I’ll bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!”

And the people said, “Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don’t care for that part about higher electric rates.” So the Pied Piper said, “Not to worry. If your rebate isn’t enough to cover your expenses, we’ll bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!” Then he said, “Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let’s grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing.”

And the people said, “Ole`! Bravo!” And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy slowed even further. Then the Pied Piper said, “I am the Messiah and I’m here to save you! We’ll just print more money so everyone will have enough!” But our foreign trading partners said, “Wait a minute. Your dollar isn’t worth what it was. You’ll have to pay more.”

And the people said, “Wait a minute. That’s not fair!”

And the world said, “Neither are these other, idiotic programs you’ve embraced. You’ve become a Socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you’ll play by our rules!”
And the people said, “What have we done?”
But it was too late.
If you think this is a fairy tale, open your eyes and ears. It’s happening RIGHT NOW! -Author unknown
