What We SEE We See Within...

This painting of a cat sleeping in an open field a good distance from home is  from UGallery.com

"Cats are territorial and calm about it in deceptive ways. If a person wants to believe in a cat's docility cats will let it be so. If one needs to believe a cat cannot climb back down a tree he has climbed he thinks of you as a fool, as pliable clay. Cats remind our primal memories of the dangers of assumption. Cats bring home the illusion of security down to an hours long nap." - Gregory E. Woods 12.13.13

The way the colors, in particular the slash of red, creates depth is compelling, at least to me.

In this painting the way the colors, in particular the slash of red, creates depth is compelling, at least to me. It tells me a story of controversy. The blood of Jesus on the cross changed the way men interacted with each other and solidified a reason to despise Jews, and contradict the assertions of righteousness missionaries since have thought were godly feelings common to spreading the Word of God. Many, probably most would never see any of the Jesus story in this painting, but it goes to show how deeply embedded creation stories are in our consciousness. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 12.14.13
