MEDICINE teaching.

a story from Songs of a Father

Mena is a strong Latina with strong sense of self. Of the questions to answer one to point towards is answered in an estimation of value. "What is the value of esteem without self-analysis?"

Mena's eyes belie the myth a man whore wants to believe that justifies his acts. Her eyes have horror, and hardness. Are men's actions under the spell of lust forgiven, or forgotten as his euphoria subsides? If so, does the whore place the john's essence in bile, or cleanse it in prayer?  If a john were the whore would he be a better man after each encounter? Would his feelings matter, or change the environment in his, and in the woman's worlds? Mena eloped with the myths sustaining a life of flesh. Many women do that to survive. What do they do to live?

Men who want one time with any 'easy woman' are men who want someone for nothing to care about casting her aside as a conquest as their lust subsides. When those men have daughters will their daughters remember this about their fathers, or sensing it conform to their father's ideology in their lives? Men in the shadows love an exotic woman as much as a forthright man loves the exoticism of his dream of a wife to care for, and love in the matching way of a special man for the woman of his dreams.

Good men can't promise to give what they have taken, or take what is not given to them. Women believe what they know. In strong ways they say: "Our punany is our own to share the way sacred things distinguish the worlds around us we cannot see, but know are there." But, pimps in their game have a jackeduped mentality, shall we say: credo. "We don't believe that shit!". . .

Lady Sonia.

Lady Sonia stands for what she wants to give to a man, or take by various depraved means! Pussy is a storm in the wrong body, a revival in others. Men determine outcome by lust, or care, appreciation and reciprocation. Circles are the Teacher. ~ Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories [12/9/18]

Lady Sonia isn't modest. She is suggestive.

Lines in Circles: Sacred Math

Lines of attraction do not taper off into the oblivion of any kind of deconstruction. Lines evolve over the expanse of substance in the hope of being squares, rectangles, triangles, off-angled alignments leading towards designs. It is the substance of purpose that creates art from lines and circles.

Out of line are circles arching, aligning, making do with being concentric in nature or being spontaneously eloped with eclectic treatment of mysterious things lines can separate us from in the fast movement of paces through our dichotomy, our perceptions, our understandings and our way of being present or absent from the teachings of the circle. Without the sacredness of line and circle the cross section of line into graphs for one mind to understand another mind will miss the flow of circles meandering effortless through and connecting to the internal concepts willing to be part of traditions, sacred awakenings, and the riddles of existence.

All this is learned in silences. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories nov. 02, 2016

DRUM CIRCLES

"Never The Same After That"

By Shannon McNally

"I lived in New Orleans for a long time and I came to understand rhythm so much more personally. ...

I went to Mardi Gras Indian practice one time in the 3rd Ward. I was the only white person in the room. It was packed and I didn't really think about it until we first went in because as a white person in America sometimes you don't think about things. I grew up in a real multicultural neighborhood in New York, it didn't seem weird to me.

I was intrigued by the drum circle, it was one of the more wonderful experiences of my life. I was standing there, watching them play their talk congas, the groove was so heavy. I was there for an hour or two, they were dancing across the room. It was really hip and at one point this older guy pushed me up towards the drum and said, "go ahead and play." There were other people playing the drums simultaneously. I was intimidated but I started to play on it and it was so alive, I never felt anything like that in my whole life.

In that moment I thought, "Oh, Wow, these are talking drums and they tell whole stories and they communicate over long distances, but they also channel spirits and their ancestors." I always thought about that on an intellectual level and understood that as a way of communicating, that people had communicated like that for centuries all over the world. Until my hands were physically on the drum, playing with it, it was like the drum didn't need me there. It was doing it and I was just picking up the phone. It was heavy, it was beautiful and I was never the same after that." [June 07, 2017]

story from archives of Jake D. Steinberg

Shannon's story is important to know because unbeknownst to many, and probably her; she is part of a long process of helping white Americans with their emotional retardation. It is a possible story rarely talked about, but in the African circles the beginnings of this type of spiritual work introduces the Africans and the retained traditions from the Motherland, and the drums to start something white Americans cannot do alone.

In African and Indian circles we have our prophecy stories our Old Ones shared long ago giving us a thing or two to look forward to, and a tiny number, with the ability to do this introductory work for whites, are in the shadows of most people's consciousness.

There is more, much more, to this work, but this isn't the place to talk deeply on a taboo subject for the American public. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories [June 07, 2017]

To Be Separated

art by Victoria Hogan, a mixed-blood as she describes herself. (2016)

Indian Mixed Blood Medicine Circle

There are so many of us mixed blood out there in the world who feel cut off from their heritage but feel the red spirit within their hearts. That is the purpose we have come together here to learn and share with each other in this medicine circle.

So many of the ways have been lost and so many times we find that when we turn to some of the full bloods or full blood groups they are more concerned about percentage of blood that flows through a person's veins then they are keeping the old teachings alive for future generations.

In the teachings I received many many years ago as a young woman the first teaching I learned was that of the medicine wheel and it's meanings. There are 4 colors to the medicine wheel....red, white, black, yellow. If one stops and thinks about it there are also 4 colors of mankind..red, black, white, and yellow

Through Wallace Black Elk's teaching (he was old Black Elk's son).whom I met in the summer of my 17th year I was taught that when all four colors join together in peace that would be the time there could be a lasting and true peace. I have followed that all my life.

I had a dream one night almost a year ago that woke me up in the middle of the night feeling angry. I dreamed of sitting at a fire with native peoples of different tribes who had gathered to share teachings of their respective people. They were angry and had asked those of mixed blood to step away from the fire so they could begin.

I realized that many groups here on Facebook are the same way. They are more interested in blood quantums than they are about anything else and so many are turned away from the good red road that Creator would have his children walk.

I had to question within myself these actions and beliefs for do we not start and end many ceremonies with the words Mitakuye Oyasin (We are all relatives)? Then how can any be shut out, turned away or shunned. Do they not hear the teachings of our elders as they hold so tightly to what some believe is for them and them alone?

Black Elk taught that if a person has one drop of native blood he or she is native. He also taught that it is what lives within the heart of each person is much more important then the color of their skin for is not each of our hearts red?

Did not Black Elk teach that if a person has one drop of native blood he or she is native. He also taught that it is what lives within the heart of each person is much more important then the color of their skin for is not each of our hearts red?

I got up out of bed, went to my laptop and put this group together. It eased my anger enough that I was able to go back to bed and fall asleep. Now look at us. We have turned into a small nation, a tribe unto ourselves where we can hold our heads high and be proud of who we are!

We are over 15,000 in number. Can you picture a village that large in the old days? That would mean a pony herd of at least 45,000 plus. Can you smell the 15,000 cooking fires? An overwhelming thought to say the least. Of course that would have been impossible as we know for finding enough game to fill those cooking pots and finding grazing for that many ponies....lol. But as in the old days we are scattered across the land, even the continents, each with our own dialects and traditions.

This fills my spirit with a feeling I have no words for. Do each of you realize what we have accomplished here? We in a way are living the vision that Black Elk had, bring it to life so to speak.
We are here together, red, white, yellow and black sharing the teachings peacefully as ONE TRIBE...ONE NATION....IN UNITY !!! I am overwhelmed at seeing this happen.
Blessings to each of you in our tiyospia (extended family).

May Creator look upon us in a good way as we journey together down this red road, down this path to our ancestor's teachings and the ways we have felt dormant in our hearts as a big piece missing from our souls.
Welcome home!

Michelle Obama & the Sacred Circles

Michelle Obama's round bottom, out of respect for a series of reasons, is out of bounds
as a subject, a byline, or the hook of a joke. Silently, men admire the First Lady's body and the way she
moves and acts like an elegant Black lady. We peer into Mrs. Obama's composure and talk
about it. We have discussions about the core strength she has that monitors enormous amounts
of energies from divers places for her family and on behalf of the
country. The last task is fundamental to who a woman is and is a unique
in design within her essence. Even though the capacity is there for all women foolishness and terror and
profound ignorance has stopped the teaching process of women's sacred circles traditionally the place of
transference. We all suffer from this loss. But, Mrs. Obama in the spotlight embodies much of it.

Her powers are to be studied with truth and knowledge, and respected. This subtly within her nature is now part of the
face of the country, but the brutality of millions of whites in this country won't or cannot see any of these things, or value them in their own women. Because they won't they can't and because they can't they can and do suffer in numerous ways so obvious that other countries are silently sending Christian missionaries to the United States to serve. These are the important negotiations taking place in the world, not at any of the conferences, or diplomatic talks held here and abroad. It is the world within where truth is or is hiding!

the Deeper, as Place

Colors of the Cosmos

Everything has a vibration or a frequency and the rate at which you can perceive that frequency determines all that you need to know. That knowledge marks the levels for which you come into focus. Things get clearer the more you can translate the vibration. Words have vibration, but so does the silence because the void carries its own vibration. Nothing vibrates. Everything dwells there in that no thing that we can not yet perceive and that frequency is the most difficult to attain.
Truth has a resonance and so does a lie and it doesn't take a machine to detect it.

PRACTICE 47: care

This labyrinth encircles our lives from within without! - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories

There are many types of caring. Just like alcohol or drugs or addictive relationships, you can be addicted to caring to the point that pulls you off center. Caring is important, but it is only part of the whole of who you are. You cannot care so much that it becomes an obsession. You must see the totality of things and realize where your caring, like everything else, fits into the perspective of your life. Emotions are important; all of what you feel and think is important, because these things make you who you are. Negative ideas are parts of you that need to be honored, so that they can then be healed and brought back into balance.

Take a look at your life. Are you seeing any of these aspects in your relationships or other aspects of your life?

So much love and spirit,

The Way We Were

Anne Marie Rios on toilet!
Perhaps it comes from living through a few decades and a few short eras we can feel the differences in all of the fundamental things of life: beauty, women, song, the taste of the atmosphere, etc. As we age and experience maturation all things change, even sound. The sound of things are indicators telling their own stories to our sense of being present. What we remember as old men is different from what we experienced as young boys.

The first nude I saw I was twelve years old, and didn't expect it. I had a friend from India, Raj, who looking back, was hyper and full of sexual daring. We lived outside of Manila, the capital of the Phillippiness and had a lot of freedom; much more than the constrained children of today. We romped around for hours in or out of our houses playing, exploring, talking, dreaming and being in wonder about our childhoods until each meal time. We never missed meals. Meals were the only indicator of time and relevance to schedules.

One day after daring me to do something naughty he pushed the envelope and took me to the snack stand in the park down the street. He said something to the man behind the counter and the man in a secretive manner gave him a magazine. Raj, came to me in a conspirator's hush, like he was Maxwell Smart, or the Saint. He looked around barely able to contain his excitement and showed me a black/white nudity magazine of Filipinas! The first picture I saw I will never describe publicly  or forget! That visual indoctrination was powerful, and compelling! What I later discovered in this mist of open sensations was my unwillingness, and deeply rooted resistance to taking advantage of girls with the powers of being a male! That story I won't share either, but in sacred circles I have been required to share by Spirit a very few times in my later life! It is important to share this type of vulnerability face to face with men for reasons men need to grasp for the sake of the women they will gravitate to in their lifetimes!

Unleashing sexual energies into a boy's life is a responsibility, and it is about timing, and moderating. Play is a complex drama. Under the guidance and care of parents learning to be wise at young ages childhood is very different from parents undisciplined of thought, spirit and emotions. Because child rearing has its complexities that fact alone tricks people into assumptions, and belief in a simplicity, and a simplistic approach very popular in the 21st century. There is a tremendous focus on academics negating the importance of play and undermining the principles and purpose of growing from a child to adulthood. Crippled emotions do not raise and train impeccability into a child. Fear and competition take over the spirit of wonder parents should share with their little ones. In this ancient practice the illusion of our wealth has created a blindness to creative processes, and stifled growth history has already shown to be detrimental to the environment of consciousness, education of the four parts of Being, and life on the planet.

The Great I AM

Photography by Omer H. Paracha
This art was inspired by cover of Kanye West's new album, "Yeesus"

This is a powerful Medicine Wheel teaching, and it is an extreme assertion to the mind of many a fundamentalist of Islamic and Christian leanings, and would lead them to harsh judgement, and condemnation of the artist and his conceptual pull towards 'divinity from within'. One person may be a Seeker who discovered with delight the indwelling power of Creation and the Creator exists not as an intellectual abstraction, or a distant authority but as a living entity within and throughout the essence of Life. These people immediately grasp the sanctity of Knowing, and their presence upon the Earth, our Mother transforms darker properties of coarse elements such as judgement into forms of light. That is how enlightenment works.

I guess it is save to say, "Beauty and Art are in the eye of the beholder, as well as the Sacred is within the body of Belief."

The deep probes into the psyche have traditionally been the way of the Shaman, the Healer who took care of the People in smaller social structures (sedentary tribes, towns, nomadic tribes). But, the time of the one-on-one tutelage to pass down spiritual and sacred knowledge to an apprentice has been forced to become an old model. The population has exceeded any projected number. Only the dreams of Seers, long dead saw these vast numbers of people upon the planet. Moses saw it, but few solutions to the complexity of living were revealed, and the art and responsibility of taking care of the soul, and the collective of souls (community) was left to the design of each era's spiritual people. This form of survival challenged the emotions and the tactics, and responsibilities of traditional healers, and Shaman forcing a creativity upon the lot of them to 'see' into the futures of their times.

My Grandfather-Teacher, Ojuku, was slow and meticulous. Our one-on-ones held us tight together for decades. I felt the shifts in my being within the context of our very private and intimate settings. The secrecy was a style of learning. It was linked to the dangers he faced first accepting and then learning his craft alone for many years. I asked him once to write a book.

He said, "No. You will write my book."

Interesting aside: Old Man was right. I would write his story in my living and service. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 8.29.13

Father to son - mirrored power

Yesse Rodriguez by Erika King
at studio of Rick Crank in 2014

The high estimation of a woman mirrors into a man several elements at once in a glance, a suggestion, a moment of dreaming or in the magnificence of her presence. The symbol of hope in a woman is the betterment concept within women liken to the Corn Mother story of the Cherokee people when the undisciplined and disrespectful Kanati, the Hunter met Selu, the Corn Mother and his manners from deep where Creator had placed them surfaced as he helped her down from the corn stalk! What is that? That is transformative energies!

A woman's body is Oriborus, the cycle that begins as soon as it ends. A man can think he is (in the street vernacular) 'tearing up the pussy', when in fact he is a creative source of original elements of and from the first days! To live and die within pussy is the limitless experience of release from care, from the body into the ethereal freedom of transcendence. Coming, or 'having a nut' as they say in the streets is the spiritual experience the experience of trance, the Holy Ghost and possession puts a man's deeper soul into without the persuasion of doctrine! ~ Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 1.16.15

A Teaching Circle

Black black woman fishing...

I learned the Circle Teachings of Faith. Starting out simply with the words, "Faith without works is dead..." as a child I learned as an adult a bit more than faith is needed. Like imagination needs the discipline of a work ethic to pull knowledge into a synthesis, so too does faith need the something substantial to pull upon the way a baby needs to suckle. So must the person of faith suckle the way a warrior stands gathering all he has done to the point of action with his fears before the challenge looming before him. All of these things work together for the good of a good outcome, or the powerful teachings of defeat. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 6.19.13

Do Not Let GO!

actress Emily Blunt

When things go wrong, as they sometime will
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a great person turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems far.
So stick in the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when thing seem worse,
That you must not quit.

life giving life

Carla Paola Calderon Hernandez

The circle has always taught. Circles link. Existing in correspondence, living carefree in sync with parallel realities circles strengthen alliances through the connecting lines between each circulating truth. In a circular fashion what we understand we understand in part, but within the correlations between circular movements dancing above, within, and below permanence, temporal existence within eternal dances, and purity is the idea and the fact of freedom foreign to the fears conjured by disconnected thought in modern life. - Gregory E. Coloured thoughts of, about and for Life

Someone must've said these words, "Love is a symbol of eternity. It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end." Who said them? This is one deplorable things about the Internet. "Every once in awhile, I get this very strong sense that everything is happening exactly as it is supposed to... the only thing I don't like about it is knowing that it doesn't seem to have the staying power that a beautiful feeling should have. Nonetheless, in the midst of all the plates I have spinning, it's a precious hour or two, when I see them and imagine them moving like galaxies with other life forms rather than imagine them crashing down all around me.

There's beauty, not in over-extending, but in imagining that all that is, is. Ya know? The word "is." Love. Light. Family. Hope. Soul mates. All of it. IS. — feeling enlightened-ish."

Power of 2 Circles

The Workout Of The Day
June 1, 2013

The spiritual aspect of life is certain and very much a part of who we are. The white man saw the world different. For him circles had to have a physical function, and from his practical frame of reference wheels were developed for wagons, bicycles, cars, trains etc. For people indigenous to the lands of the Blacks, of Turtle Island, or Australia, for example, the circle became a teaching tool, and reflected in their stories the circle was where they came from and how relationships were interwoven with spheres of influence from world to world, belief to knowing and understanding of the world(s). In today's lexicon circles are a part of the structures surrounding us entering our conversations when revelations come full circle!

The question of the day asks where are you on the Sacred Medicine Wheel your life is governing itself with? - Alowan Chanteh Inyan Wichasha (Gregory E. Woods) 6.4.14
