Yeah, it is strange and disheartening watching many of this generation. The shallowness is disheartening and the insistence upon being shallow is disconcerting. Living as if one's ancestors didn't live and one has no connection to anything beyond the immediate is the very thing that got Marie Antoinette hung in France. We have many privileges in the West, and the obsession with trivia has consequences on the world's scale. But, the shallow and the consumer have no comprehension of the ramifications of being the privileged, or what their spiritual responsibility entails.
There is a distinction between the Elders and old people. Learn the differences, and seek your Elders out, and learn to learn, and learn to study and think introspectively.
