Birth of a Goddess
I have often asked, how did Africans come to take on the religions of their colonizers so completely? Islam and Christianity was used to steal the money and the power. The matriarchs and powerful women's societies of Africa controlled the money, land, and resources. The earth was the mother and source of nourishment and the women were connected to the earth also source of nourishment.
In order to take the land and resources, the invaders had to take out the women's societies. they already did it in Europe so they knew what to do. They had to undermine their power by projecting them as evil witches. They burned the sacred trees of life and the shrines to the ground. That is why there are so few to find now. They developed strategies along with some power hungry men... to seize control and power. Even those in the traditional priesthoods sold out the mothers. It was intentional and systematic across the continent especially in the late 19th and early 20th century. They even changed the oracles to reflect this so this and then forbid them from access. The oracles were women's work as the mouthpiece of the divine. That is why they use womb and womb symbols from which to draw... Or woven mats... also women's symbols.
What the African men who co conspired with the colonizers didn't understand is that the mothers were the protectors of the land. When they conspired to take out the women's societies and abandoned the mothers for their own profit and gain, the mother's abandoned them to their oppressors. The only way Africa will be restored... is when they return the mother's back to their rightful place. This goes for the descendants across the globe. As long as they rape the land and the women... treat them like property to control, or tools to manipulate for greed and selfishness... They will suffer. ~ author unknown
