Freedom as it is used currently and in our collective past is bound by slavery and someone's incarceration. A fact based opinion about the concept of freedom American style is always opposed by white Americans as a whole. It is somehow offensive for Indians and Blacks to define freedom for ourselves. But, any other definition holds us in some kind of bondage at the convenience of the dominant group.
So, what is freedom? Without power it is bondage, with power it is empowering. How it is used in relation to others reveals how and if one is indeed free. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 9.1.16
